Description
本発明は、一般に耐火性組成物に関し、特に炉に有用な耐火性組成物に関する。より詳細には、本発明は、ガラス炉および真鍮炉のような炉のライニング用のコロイダルシリカ耐火物に関する。
本発明についてさらに記載される。以下において、本発明の異なる態様がより詳細に定義される。定義されるそれぞれの態様は、そうでないことが明示されていない限り、1つまたは複数の任意の態様と組み合わせることができる。特には、好ましいかまたは有利であると示された任意の特徴は、好ましいかまたは有利であると示された他の任意の特徴と組み合わせることができる。
<実施例1>
制限することを目的とせず例示のために、表1はコロイダルシリカ耐火性システムのための第一の組の例示的な成分とタイプを提供する。
ガラス融解炉中の厳しい条件をシミュレートするために、ナトリウムヘキサメタホスフェートに対する耐火物腐食試験が行なわれた。実施例1および比較例Aの耐火性組成物の薄い管材が調製された。管材は高温でナトリウムヘキサメタホスフェートに浸漬された。そのテストは2000°F(約1100℃)で48時間実行された。テストの後、試料は分析され、厳しい条件に対する耐火性組成物の抵抗性が決定された。比較例の配合物から調製された管材は、その断面領域の約43%を失った。実施例1の組成物から調製された管材は、侵食に驚くほど強く、その断面領域の8%未満を失った。
実施例1によって調製された組成物が真鍮炉に適用された。炉は長期間運転され、組成物は炉の全体にわたって良好な性能を示した。比較例Bは、炉の中の浴ライン(bath line)より上に適用されたアルミノシリケート耐火物(65%のアルミナ、32%のシリカ)、および浴ラインより下に適用されたアルミナ炭化ケイ素物質(74%のアルミナ、17.5%の炭化ケイ素、6%のシリカ)を含んでいた。比較例Bについては、アルミノシリケート耐火物は浴ラインより上で良好な結果を示した。また、アルミナ炭化ケイ素生成物は、浴ラインより下で良好な結果を示した。しかしどちらの物質も界面では不良であった。実施例1の組成物は、比較例Bの組成物より優れたパフォーマンスを示し、特に浴ラインで優れたパフォーマンスを示した。
Claims (9)
- アルミナおよびジルコニアを含む成分の第一の組であって、
35重量%から55重量%のアルミナ粒子状物質と25重量%から45重量%のジルコン粒子状物質を含み、
該ジルコニアはジルコンサンドを含む第1の部分とジルコン粉を含む第2の部分を含む第一の組を提供し;
前記成分の第一の組の乾燥重量の5重量%から20重量%のコロイダルシリカバインダーを提供し、
前記成分の第一の組と前記コロイダルシリカバインダーを混合して、55重量%から65重量%のアルミナ、20重量%から25重量%のジルコニア、および15重量%から25重量%のシリカを含む耐火性組成物を形成し、
炉の表面に単一体の耐火性組成物を形成することを含む、単一体の耐火性物質を調製する方法。 - 前記炉がガラス炉である、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記炉が真鍮炉である、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記耐火性組成物が有効な量の水硬セメントを含まない、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記成分の第一の組が溶融AZS粒子状物質を5重量%未満で含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記成分の第一の組がメッシュサイズ8×14のアルミナ粒子状物質を30重量%から50重量%、−14Mのメッシュサイズのアルミナ粒子状物質を2重量%から10重量%で含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記成分の第一の組が1mmを越える平均粒径を備えたアルミナ粒子状物質を含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記シリカバインダーが前記成分の第一の組の乾燥重量の6重量%から12重量%で存在する、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記耐火性組成物が鋳込法、ポンプ施工または吹きつけから選択される方法により形成される、請求項1記載の方法。
