Description
(i)ポリビニルブチラール(PVB)を含む第一層と、
(ii)接着剤を含む第二層とを含む層状材料であって、前記第一層が照射処理領域を含む層状材料が提供される。
a)ポリビニルブチラールを含有する第一層と接着剤を含有する第二層とを含有する層状材料を供給する工程と、
b)前記第一層を照射処理して、情報又は画像を表示するパターンを作成する工程とを含む、装飾用フィルム又はラベルの作製方法が提供される。
(i)ポリビニルブチラール(PVB)を含む第一層と、
(ii)接着剤を含む第二層とを含む層状材料であって、前記第一層が照射処理領域を含む層状材料。
a)ポリビニルブチラールを含有する第一層と接着剤を含有する第二層とを含有する層状材料を供給する工程と、
b)前記第一層を照射処理して、情報又は画像を表示するパターンを生成させる工程とを含む、照射処理層状材料の製造方法。
ポリビニルブチラール(PVB)は長い間知られており、市販されている(例えば、レンプ化学事典・第二版、シュツットガルト/ニューヨーク、ゲオルク・ティーメ出版、1999年を参照のこと)。通常は、PVBは防犯ガラスの作製に商業用途を見出している。PVBは、ポリビニルアルコールをブチルアルデヒドと反応させ、アセタールを形成することにより得られる。前記反応は、前記ポリビニルブチラールが未反応ポリビニルアルコール単位を含有する場合には完了していない。一般的には、ポリビニルブチラールは、遊離(反応性)ヒドロキシル基を含有し、架橋し得る。前記ポリビニルブチラールは、未反応ポリビニルアルコールを、約0.5〜約70重量%、又は約5〜約20重量%の量で含み得る。
ポリエステル樹脂としては、ヒドロキシル官能性ポリエステル樹脂が挙げられる。ヒドロキシ官能性ポリエステル樹脂としては、少なくとも2個のヒドロキシ官能基を有する任意のポリエステルを含んでもよい。前記ヒドロキシ官能性ポリエステル樹脂は、飽和又は不飽和ポリエステル樹脂、アルキド樹脂、ポリカーボネート又はポリラクトンであってよく、好ましくは飽和ポリエステル樹脂又はポリラクトン、より好ましくは飽和ポリエステル樹脂であってよい。
OH基を含有する架橋樹脂として知られている任意の架橋剤を使用してもよい。
前記層状材料は、前記アブレーション領域を非アブレーション領域から目視で識別可能にする1種以上の添加剤を含有してよい。
湿潤剤は、層のキャスティング性能並びに表面欠陥及び/又はピンホールの無い均一かつ滑らかな表面の形成を支援し得る。好適な湿潤剤としては、アクリレート系ポリマー、例えば、DISPARLON L 1980の商標名でクスモト(Kusumoto)(日本)からのアクリレート系湿潤剤が挙げられる。前記湿潤剤は、前記層の総重量に対して0.1〜2.0重量%の量で存在しうる。更なる湿潤剤としては、フッ素化界面活性剤、フッ素化炭化水素などが挙げられる。
触媒を使用して、架橋剤と、PVB及び/又はポリエステル樹脂などのヒドロキシル官能性樹脂との架橋反応を促進できる。好適な触媒としては、アルキル酸ホスフェート、リン酸、マレイン酸及び無水物、フマル酸、クロロマレイン酸及び無水物、アルキル酸フタレート、モノアルキルサクシネート及びマレエートが挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。特に好適であることが見出された触媒は、スルホン酸及びその誘導体(例えば、p−トルエンスルホン酸、メチル−p−スルホン酸、ドデシルベンゼンスルホン酸などを包含する)、スズ(II)塩(例えば、DBTL(ジ−ブチルスズラウレート)又はスズ(II)エチルヘキサノエートであるが、これらに限定されない)などの化合物である。触媒は、前記層の総重量に対して0.1〜1.0重量%の量で存在してよい。
当業者は、層状材料の特性を調節するため(for adjusting characteristic properties layered materials)に、及び経済的な理由により、充填剤、例えば雲母、炭酸カルシウム、カオリンを、前記層状材料の調製において使用してもよく、かつ前記層中に存在してよいと理解している。更なる補助剤としては、例えば、紫外線吸収剤(例えば、チヌビンユヴィナル(Tinuvin Uvinul)の商標名にて入手可能であるようなもの)及び酸化防止剤(例えば、イルガノックス(Irganox)の商標名にて入手可能であるようなものであるが、これらに限定されない)が挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。
前記接着層は、1種以上の接着剤を含有する。前記接着剤は、感圧性接着剤又は熱活性化可能接着剤であることが好ましい。これらは、ポリアクリレート、ポリエステル、ポリオレフィン、ポリアミド、ポリウレタン、シリコーンポリマー、ポリブタジエン及びコポリマー、ポリイソプレン及びコポリマー、天然及び合成ゴム並びにその水素添加誘導体(樹脂、充填剤及び架橋剤を含んでいても、含んでいなくてもよい)をベースにした接着剤を含んでよい。
前記接着層は、剥離ライナーにより外界から保護することができる。前記剥離ライナーは粘着回避性であることが好ましい。より具体的には、前記剥離ライナーは、適用された接着剤と比較して低表面エネルギーの化合物によってコーティングされた又は改質された紙又はフィルムを含んでよい。オルガノシリコーン化合物、フルオロポリマー、ポリウレタン及びポリオレフィンは、この目的にかなう。前記剥離ライナーは、例えば、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、PVC、ポリエステルなどの有機ポリマーから製造される高分子シートでもあり得、粘着回避性化合物(即ち、上述したような、接着剤と比較して(relative the adhesive)、低表面エネルギーを有する化合物)を添加してもしなくてもよい。それを前記接着剤層から取り外して、当該接着剤層が十分に無傷のまま残り、前記層状材料が例えば、金属、プラスチック又はポリマーなどの基材と接着できるようにすることができる。
ポリビニルブチラール含有層状材料、より詳細にはポリビニルブチラール含有層を含有する層状材料を使用して、レーザーマーキング可能なラベル又は装飾用フィルムを作製できる。前記層状材料は、材料又はポリビニルブチラール含有層が照射処理されておらず、あるいは照射及び非照射(又はアブレーション)領域のパターンを生じる照射によって処理されていないという点を除けば、上記のように組み立てられかつ構成されていてよい。前記層状材料は、ロール形態にて提供されてよい。次に、前記層状材料は引き続いて照射により処理されて、上記のような装飾情報を表示するパターンを生成できる。
a)上記のように構成された第一層及び上記のような接着剤層を含む層状材料であって、当該第一層は情報を表示するパターンを形成するためのレーザー処理がされていない前記層状材料を供給する工程と、
b)前記第一層を照処理して、照射処理及び非処理領域のパターンを生成する工程とを含むプロセスにより調製できる。前記照射は、上記のように実施できる。前記層状材料は、上記のような組成物及び構成を有し得る。
構成成分A(PVB樹脂):
モヴィタル(Mowital)B 16 S(米国クラレ、NY 10022、ニューヨーク州、米国)、分子量(g/モル)が10000〜25000であり、ポリビニルアルコール含有量が10〜20重量%であるポリビニルブチラール樹脂。
アララック(Uralac)CP 4079 SN ND(DSMコーティング樹脂、8022 AWズヴォレ(Zwolle)、オランダ)、飽和ポリエステル樹脂(ナフサ溶剤中に溶解)。
C1:サイメル(Cymel)325(サイテック(Cytec)B.V、3197 KAボットレック−ロッテルダム(Botlek-Rotterdam)、オランダ)、メチル化メラミンホルムアルデヒド樹脂。
D1:クロノス(Kronos)CL2310(クロノスチタン(Kronos Titan)、ドイツ)、シラン修飾二酸化チタン。
3Mノヴェック(Novec)(商標)(ドイツ3M社(3M Deutschland GmbH)(ドイツ、ノイス))、フッ素系界面活性剤FC 4434。
スズ(II)−エチルヘキサノエート(アルファ・エイサーGmbH & Co.KG,ドイツ)。
転写テープ9458(ドイツ3M社(3M Deutschland GmbH)(ドイツ、ノイス))、0.025mmの厚さを有するアクリル系感圧性接着剤転写テープ。
6種類の異なるレーザーマーキング可能な層状材料(層状材料1〜6)を調製した。各層状材料1〜6は、黒色トップ層及び白色ベース層を有した。
黒色トップ層のためのコーティング混合物を、以下のように最初に調製したPVB樹脂溶液によって得た。
白色ベース層を作製するためのコーティング混合物を、以下のように最初にPVB樹脂溶液を調製することによって得た。
c1)剥離キャリアの作製
ポリマーコート紙を含むキャスティング剥離キャリアは、108gのHIFIクラフト紙(ケム・テネロ(Chem Tenero)AGから入手可能)を用い、それをアクリル系剥離材料の溶液でコーティングすることによって作製した。次に、前記紙を乾燥させて、32g/cm2の乾燥塗布量を得た。前記表面は、滑らかでかつ光沢があり、約1.0μmの平均粗度RZを示した。
前記黒色トップ層コーティング混合物を、剥離キャリア(1)上にポリマー層(2)としてコーティングし、まず80℃で2分オーブン乾燥し、次に195℃で更に1分間乾燥した。各黒色トップ層の厚さは、乾燥後、約10マイクロメートルであった。
比較例C1は、ラベル4のトップコート作製において、100pphの構成成分B、0pphのPVB及び33pphの構成成分C1を使用したことを除いて、ラベル4のように調製した。
下記で述べる試験を実施するために、サンプルは、カーペットナイフ又ははさみのいずれかを使用して、層状シート材料から切り出した。比較例として、放射線架橋ポリウレタンアクリレートをベースにし、かつ10μm厚のトップフィルム、50μmベース及び30μm厚の感圧性接着剤層を含む、市販のレーザーマーキング可能なラベルストック、TESA 6930ブラック・オン・ホワイト(Beiersdorf(ドイツ、ハンブルグ)から入手可能)を使用した。
ロフィンシナール・レーザーGmbH、22113(ドイツ、ハンブルグ)からのイージーマーク(Easymark)II(ダイオード励起Nd:YV04レーザー)を以下の設定にて使用して、50×100mmのサイズを有するサンプルに単一レーザー処理を施した。
1=トップ層の厚さの約1/2が彫刻された(下にある白色層が部分的に見える、サンプルは灰色に見える)
2=トップ層の厚さの約3/4が彫刻された(下にある白色層が部分的に見える)
3=トップ層が完全に彫刻され(除去され)、下にある白色層が完全かつ明確に見える
以下の結果が得られた。
本試験は、ドイツ連邦自動車局(Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt)(ドイツ、フレンスブルク24932)により2007年7月に発行され、配布された情報シート「識別ラベル」にしたがって実施した。試験片は、トップ層が完全に除去され、かつ下にあるベース層が明確に見えるように、上記のような十分な時間レーザー処理してマーキングした。前記試験用サンプルは、この試験液(トルエン)の場合、15分間当該試験液体中に完全に浸漬させた(emerged)。当該試験は、20+/−2℃で実施した。前記試験用サンプルは、マーキング視認性の変化について目視検査した。
前記化学薬品磨耗耐性は、前記クロックメーター試験を使用し、コットングレインクロスに対し、DIN EN ISO 105−X12にしたがい、エタノール及びトルエンにて、湿式摩擦(wet rub-off)試験に関して検査した。全レーザーマーキング済み試験片は、50mm×140mmの寸法であり、4時間20+/−2℃にて65%+/−2%の相対湿度にて状態調整した。試験結果は、直径16mm及び接触圧力9+/−0.2Nの円筒形グレーティングピンを使用した100サイクル後の摩耗表面の目視検査により決定した。前記円筒形グレーティングピンは、試験表面に渡って104+/−3mmの長さで前後に動かした。

少なくとも1つの数字、少なくとも1つの文字、少なくとも1つの幾何学的形状又はこれらの組み合わせを形成する、項目1に記載の層状材料。

前記照射がレーザー照射である、項目1又は2に記載の層状材料。
(4)
前記層状材料がレーザー感応性顔料を含む、項目1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の層状材料。
(5)
前記第一層が着色されていて、前記層状材料が第三層を含有し、当該第三層が第一層と第二層との間に配置され、当該第三層が前記第一層とは異なった色で着色されている、項目1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の層状材料。
(6)
前記第三層が1つ以上の透明層により前記第一層から分離されている、項目5に記載の層状材料。
(7)
前記ポリビニルブチラールが架橋している、項目1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の層状材料。
(8)
前記第一層がポリエステルを更に含む、項目1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の層状材料。
(9)
前記ポリビニルブチラールがポリエステルと架橋している、項目1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の層状材料。
(10)
前記層状材料がシートの形態である、項目1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の層状材料。
(11)
前記層状材料がロールに巻き取られたシートの形態である、項目1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の層状材料。
(12)
前記層状材料がラベル又は装飾用フィルムである、項目1〜11のいずれか一項に記載の層状材料。
(13)
前記層状材料中の第二層によって、項目1〜12のいずれか一項に記載の層状材料が接着している物品。
(14)
前記物品が、燃料管理システム、エンジン、燃料貯蔵容器、乗り物の本体又はそれらの構成要素から選択される、項目13に記載の物品。
(15)
a)ポリビニルブチラールを含有する第一層と接着剤を含有する第二層とを含有する層状材料を供給する工程と、
b)前記第一層を照射処理して、情報又は画像を表示するパターンを生成させる工程とを含む、装飾用フィルム又はラベルの製造方法。
(16)
(i)ポリビニルブチラール(PVB)を含む第一層と、
(ii)接着剤を含む第二層と
を含む層状材料の、レーザーマーキングされたラベル又は装飾用フィルムを作製するための使用。
Claims (4)
- (i)ポリビニルブチラール(PVB)及びポリエステルを含む第一層であって、前記ポリビニルブチラールが前記ポリエステルと架橋している、第一層と、
(ii)接着剤を含む第二層とを
含む層状材料であって、前記第一層が放射線マーキングされた領域を含む、層状材料。 - 前記層状材料中の第二層によって、請求項1に記載の層状材料が接着している物品。
- a)ポリビニルブチラール及びポリエステルを含有する第一層であって、前記ポリビニルブチラールが前記ポリエステルと架橋している第一層と、接着剤を含有する第二層とを含有する層状材料を供給する工程と、
b)前記第一層を照射処理して、情報又は画像を表示するパターンを生成させる工程とを含む、装飾用フィルム又はラベルの製造方法。 - (i)ポリビニルブチラール(PVB)及びポリエステルを含む第一層であって、前記ポリビニルブチラールが前記ポリエステルと架橋している、第一層と、
(ii)接着剤を含む第二層と
を含む層状材料の、レーザーマーキングされたラベル又は装飾用フィルムを作製するための使用。
