Description
(ここで、Lk´は補償された後のk番目フレームの輝度代表値、前記Lkはk番目フレームの輝度代表値、前記L´k−1は 補償された後のk−1番目フレームの輝度代表値、前記PARAは低域通過フィルタリングレベル、AVEkはk番目フレームの外部画像信号の平均階調値、前記AVEk−1はk−1番目フレームの外部画像信号の平均階調値である)の式に基づいて、n番目単位発光ブロックの輝度補償値を算出することができる。
(ここで、前記G´は補正後の外部画像信号のピクセルデータ、前記αはピクセルデータの補正階数、前記Gは前記外部画像信号のピクセルデータ、前記Gmaxはピクセルデータの最大階調値、Grepは前記輝度補償値の推定値である)の式に基づいて、前記外部画像信号のピクセルデータを補正してもよい。
(ここで、前記G´は補正後の外部画像信号のピクセルデータ、前記αはピクセルデータの補正階数、前記Gは前記外部画像信号のピクセルデータ、前記Gmaxはピクセルデータの最大階調値、Grepは前記輝度補償値である)の式に基づいて、前記外部画像信号のピクセルデータを補正してもよい。

Claims (10)
- 複数の光源を含む単位発光ブロックに対応する複数の画像ブロックの外部画像信号から前記単位発光ブロックの輝度代表値を決定することと、
前記輝度代表値を補償して前記単位発光ブロックの輝度補償値を算出することと、
前記輝度補償値に基づいて前記単位発光ブロックの中心領域及び境界領域に対応する前記外部画像信号のピクセルデータを補正することと、
前記輝度補償値に基づいて前記単位発光ブロックに駆動信号を提供することと、を含み、
前記単位発光ブロックの輝度代表値が隣接する発光ブロックの輝度代表値のうち、最大輝度代表値に対して所定の補償比率より小さければ、前記単位発光ブロックの輝度代表値を前記最大輝度代表値に対する前記所定の補償比率以上の補償比率で補償して前記輝度補償値を算出し、
前記単位発光ブロックの輝度代表値が相対的に高い第1領域と前記単位発光ブロックの輝度代表値が相対的に低い第2領域に対応する前記所定の補償比率は互いに異なることを特徴とする表示装置駆動方法。 - 前記単位発光ブロックの境界領域に対応する前記外部画像信号のピクセルデータを補正することは、
前記単位発光ブロックに隣接する単位発光ブロックの輝度補償値に基づいて距離加重値を適用して前記外部画像信号のピクセルデータを補正することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置駆動方法。 - 前記単位発光ブロックの輝度代表値を決定することは、
前記複数の画像ブロックの外部画像信号から最大階調値及び平均階調値を得ることと、
前記最大階調値と前記平均階調値との間の特定値を前記単位発光ブロックの輝度代表値として決定することと、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置駆動方法。 - 前記輝度補償値を算出することは、
前記外部画像信号の各フレーム単位で前記単位発光ブロックの輝度代表値を低域通過フィルタリングすることをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置駆動方法。 - 前記外部画像信号の各フレーム単位で前記単位発光ブロックの輝度代表値を低域通過フィルタリングすることは、
- 前記単位発光ブロックの境界領域に対応する前記外部画像信号のピクセルデータを補正することは、
前記単位発光ブロックに隣接する単位発光ブロックの輝度補償値に線形補間法を適用して前記境界領域に対応する輝度補償値の推定値を演算することと、
前記輝度補償値の推定値に基づいて前記単位発光ブロックの境界領域に対応するピクセルのピクセルデータを補正することと、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置駆動方法。 - 前記単位発光ブロックの境界領域に対応するピクセルのピクセルデータを補正することは、
- 前記単位発光ブロックの中心領域に対応する前記外部画像信号のピクセルデータを補正することは、
- 前記外部画像信号のピクセルデータを補正することは、
前記単位発光ブロックの輝度補償値に基づいて、前記単位発光ブロックに隣接する単位発光ブロックの輝度干渉を考慮して補正された輝度補償値を演算することをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置駆動方法。 - 前記輝度補償値に基づいて前記単位発光ブロックに駆動信号を提供することは、
前記輝度補償値に基づいて前記単位発光ブロックのデューティサイクルを決定することと、
前記デューティサイクルに従って駆動信号を生成して前記単位発光ブロックに提供することと、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置駆動方法。
