研究の基準として、燃焼性試験(NFPA−702−1980)を用いた。この試験は、主に衣類を対象とし、衣類を発火源に接触した場合の材料の難燃性を測定する。45度の角度で取り付けた6.4×15.2cmの試験片の下端部に規準の火災を衝突させる。試験方法を修正して、試料に着火するまで、接災にした。着火時間と総燃焼時間を秒で測定した。燃焼長をcmで記録した。
本比較例において、ポリフェニレンスルフィド成分から二成分スパンボンド布を作製した。ポリフェニレンスルフィド成分は、1200s-1、温度316℃で、1700ポアズの公称溶融粘度(nominal melt viscosity)を有する。その樹脂は、Fortron PPS 0317 C1として、Ticonaから入手可能である。ポリフェニレンスルフィド樹脂を、温度115℃で、含水量150ppm未満まで通気乾燥機内で乾燥した。ポリマーを別々の押出機内で295℃まで加熱した。ポリマー流を紡糸パックアセンブリ(spin−pack assembly)に計量供給し、そこで、2種の溶融流を、別々に濾過した後、分配板の束を介して合わせて、鞘/芯断面を有する複数列のスパンボンド繊維が提供された。PPS成分は、鞘成分と芯成分の両方を含んでいた。
本実施例において、繊維が、ポリ(エチレンテレフタレート)成分とポリフェニレンスルフィド成分からなることを除いて、比較例Aに記載したように二成分スパンボンド布を調製した。ポリエステル成分は、固有粘度0.53dl/gを有し、Crystar(登録商標)ポリエステル(Merge 4415)としてDuPontから入手可能である。ポリフェニレンスルフィド成分は、1200s-1、温度316℃で、公称溶融粘度1700ポアズを有する。樹脂は、Fortron PPS 0317 C1として、Ticonaから入手可能である。ポリエステル樹脂を、温度120℃で、含水量が50ppm未満まで通気乾燥機内で乾燥した。ポリフェニレンスルフィド樹脂を、温度115℃で、含水量が150ppm未満まで通気乾燥機内で乾燥した。ポリマーを別々の押出機内で加熱した。ポリエステルを290℃まで加熱し、ポリフェニレンスルフィド樹脂を295℃まで加熱した。2種のポリマーを紡糸パックアセンブリに計量供給し、そこで、2種の溶融流を、別々に濾過した後、分配板の束を介して合わせて、鞘/芯断面を有する複数列のスパンボンド繊維が提供された。PPS成分は、芯を含み、PET成分は、鞘を含む。ポリエステル成分は、スパンボンド繊維の10重量%を構成した。
PET成分が15%であることを除いて、実施例1と同様に、実施例2を調製した。
PET成分が20%であることを除いて、実施例1と同様に、実施例3を調製した。
PET成分が25%であることを除いて、実施例1と同様に、実施例4を調製した。
PET成分が50%であることを除いて、実施例1と同様に、実施例5を調製した。
PET成分が75%であることを除いて、実施例1と同様に、実施例6を調製した。
次に、本発明の態様を示す。
1. 露出外面を有する多成分繊維であって、
ポリアリーレンスルフィドポリマーの少なくとも1つの第一成分と、
ポリアリーレンスルフィドポリマーを含まない熱可塑性ポリマーの少なくとも1つの第二成分とを含み、前記熱可塑性ポリマーが、前記多成分繊維の露出面全体を形成する繊維。
2. 前記ポリアリーレンスルフィドポリマーが、ポリフェニレンスルフィドである上記1に記載の繊維。
3. 前記熱可塑性ポリマーが、ポリエステル、ポリアミドおよびポリオレフィンからなる群から選択される上記1に記載の繊維。
4. 前記ポリエステルが、芳香族ポリエステル、脂肪族ポリエステル、およびそれらの混合物からなる群から選択される上記1に記載の繊維。
5. 前記芳香族ポリエステルが、ポリアルキレンテレフタレート、ポリアルキレンナフタレート、シクロヘキサンジメタノールとテレフタル酸とから誘導されるポリエステル、およびそれらの混合物からなる群から選択される上記4に記載の繊維。
6. 前記芳香族ポリエステルが、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリブチレンテレフタレート、ポリエチレンナフタレート、ポリシクロヘキサンテレフタレート、およびそれらの混合物からなる群から選択される上記5に記載の繊維。
7. 前記芳香族ポリエステルが、ポリエチレンテレフタレートである上記6に記載の繊維。
8. 前記ポリエステルが、脂肪族ポリエステルである上記4に記載の繊維。
9. 前記脂肪族ポリエステルが、ポリ乳酸である上記8に記載の繊維。
10. 前記ポリアミドが、ナイロン6、ナイロン6,6、それらの混合物およびそれらのコポリマーからなる群から選択される上記3に記載の繊維。
11. 前記ポリオレフィンが、ポリプロピレン、低密度ポリエチレン、高密度ポリエチレン、直鎖低密度ポリエチレン、ポリブテン、それらの混合物およびそれらのコポリマーからなる群から選択される上記3に記載の繊維。
12. 前記第二成分が、前記繊維の総重量の約30重量%未満を含む上記1に記載の繊維。
13. 前記繊維が、多葉断面を有する上記1に記載の繊維。
14. 前記繊維が、連続フィラメントまたはステープル繊維である上記1に記載の繊維。
15. 前記繊維が、スパンボンド繊維またはメルトブローン繊維である上記1に記載の繊維。
16. 前記繊維が、鞘成分と芯成分を含む二成分繊維であり、前記鞘成分が、前記繊維の全露出外面を形成し、かつ前記ポリアリーレンスルフィドポリマーを含まない熱可塑性ポリマーを含み、および前記芯成分が、ポリアリーレンスルフィドポリマーを含む上記1に記載の繊維。
17. 前記二成分繊維が、同心鞘/芯断面または偏心鞘/芯断面を有する上記16に記載の繊維。
18. 前記繊維が、海成分と前記海成分内に分布される複数の島成分を含む海島繊維であり、前記海成分が、前記繊維の全露出外面を形成し、かつ前記ポリアリーレンスルフィドポリマーを含まない熱可塑性ポリマーを含み、および前記複数の島成分が、ポリアリーレンスルフィドポリマーを含む上記1に記載の繊維。
19. 上記1に記載の繊維を含むウェブ。
20. 前記ウェブが、織材料または不織材料を含む上記26に記載のウェブ。
Claims (2)
- 露出外面を有する多成分繊維であって、
ポリアリーレンスルフィドポリマーの少なくとも1つの第一成分と、
ポリアリーレンスルフィドポリマーを含まない熱可塑性ポリマーの少なくとも1つの第二成分とを含み、前記熱可塑性ポリマーが、前記多成分繊維の露出面全体を形成し、
前記熱可塑性ポリマーが、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリブチレンテレフタレート、ポリエチレンナフタレート、ポリシクロヘキサンテレフタレート、およびそれらの混合物からなる群から選択され、
前記第二成分が、前記繊維の総重量の30重量%未満を構成する、繊維。 - 請求項1に記載の繊維を含むウェブ。
