Claims (5)
- 光源から入射された光をガイドする導光板と、
上記導光板によりガイドされた光を反射して液晶パネルに放出させる圧電体からなる複数の光学系を備えて、入力された映像信号によって上記複数の光学系の反射率を夫々調整して輝度を調節する輝度調節部と、
を含み、
上記光学系は、光を反射させる反射板、光を散乱させる散乱パターン及び光を拡散させる拡散シートのうち、ひとつであって、
上記光学系の表面には、光反射率を高めるコーティングが施され、
上記光学系と上記導光板とを予め設定された距離に離隔させるスペーサが、上記光学系と上記導光板との間に介在されることを特徴とする分割輝度調節機能を有する側面型バックライトユニット。 - 上記輝度調節部は、上記映像信号の明暗によって可変する電圧レベルを有する調節電圧を上記複数の光学系に夫々供給する制御機をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の分割輝度調節機能を有する側面型バックライトユニット。
- 上記光学系は、ピエゾ(piezo)効果により上記導光板との距離が調節されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の分割輝度調節機能を有する側面型バックライトユニット。
- 上記側面型バックライトユニットは、上記光源から上記導光板に入射される光を予め設定された方向へ向かうようにする光学部材をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1ないし3の何れか1項に記載の分割輝度調節機能を有する側面型バックライトユニット。
- 上記光源は、上記輝度調節部の輝度調節と連動して入射される光量を調節することを特徴とする請求項1ないし4の何れか1項に記載の分割輝度調節機能を有する側面型バックライトユニット。
