Description
The present invention relates to an improved engine of a baffle plate provided in an oil pan disposed on the lower side of a crankcase.
As is well known, an engine mounted on a vehicle such as an automobile has an oil pan for storing engine oil below the crankshaft in the crankcase structure. The engine oil stored in the oil pan is fed to the crankshaft system and the cam system to lubricate a predetermined sliding portion, and then circulates and is again collected and stored in the oil pan.
Normally, the height of the crankshaft, the oil pan capacity, the oil amount, etc. are appropriately set so that the level of engine oil in the oil pan is below the lowest end of the rotation locus of the crankshaft system. The Patent Document 1 describes a configuration in which an engine is provided with a protruding portion in which an oil pan gasket is appropriately extended inward of the oil pan along the joint surface between the oil pan and the crankcase. This oil pan gasket has a function of a baffle plate. That is, the performance of the oil pan is maintained and improved by appropriately partitioning the crank chamber side and the oil pan side.
However, with the structure disclosed in Patent Document 1, when the vehicle suddenly starts or suddenly accelerates, the engine oil stored in the oil pan overflows outside the oil pan and is disposed behind the engine. Air bubbles are generated in the oil applied to the gear train of the transmission, and the level of engine oil in the oil pan is lowered, and air is mixed in from the inlet of the strainer that pumps up the oil. There is a problem.
The present invention has been made in view of such a problem, and it is possible to suppress the engine oil stored in the oil pan from overflowing out of the oil pan due to sudden acceleration of the vehicle, etc. An object of the present invention is to provide an engine that can keep the engine in good condition.
In order to achieve the above-described object, an invention according to claim 1 is directed to an oil pan connected to a lower side of a crankcase of an engine and having an oil reservoir chamber for storing lubricating oil, and lubrication in the oil reservoir chamber. A suction part for sucking oil and sending it to an oil passage inside the engine; and a baffle plate having a hole part through which the suction part passes in an upper surface of the oil pan in a connection region between the crankcase and the oil pan. The rear edge of the baffle plate is formed in a substantially straight line extending in the vehicle width direction, and the rear edge of the peripheral edge of the hole of the baffle plate. parts said substantially flat rising portion bent as rise towards the side of the crank case is formed, the rising portion, the forward direction of the surface of the vehicle of the oil pan Characterized in that provided in inclined facing towards.
The invention according to claim 2 is characterized in that, in addition to the configuration according to claim 1 , a gear train is arranged behind and above the rising portion .
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in addition to the configuration according to the first or second aspect, the rising portion is configured to have a curved surface whose transverse cross-sectional shape is recessed in the side surface in the forward direction of the vehicle. It is characterized by.
Invention of claim 4, in addition to the configuration according to any one of claims 1 to 3, the rear side near the rising portion of the baffle plate, said oil pan lubricating oil on the baffle plate A lubricating oil return hole for returning to the inside is provided.
According to a fifth aspect of the invention, in addition to the configuration of the fourth aspect, the lubricating oil return hole portion is formed so as to open long in the vehicle width direction along the rising portion. To do.
According to a sixth aspect of the invention, in addition to the configuration of the fourth or fifth aspect , the lubricating oil return hole portion has a labyrinth structure.
According to a seventh aspect of the present invention, in addition to the configuration of the sixth aspect, the labyrinth structure of the lubricating oil return hole portion includes a protruding portion projecting inward of the oil pan and a flange portion extending along the baffle plate surface. The opening on the oil pan side of the lubricating oil return hole is opened to the rear of the vehicle below the baffle plate surface.
According to the engine of the first aspect of the present invention, the rear edge of the peripheral edge of the hole of the baffle plate that is rearward with respect to the forward direction of the vehicle is formed in a substantially straight line extending in the vehicle width direction. In addition, since the rear edge has a substantially flat rising part bent so as to rise toward the crankcase, the lubricating oil in the oil pan can be used even when the vehicle is suddenly accelerated or decelerated. Is prevented from overflowing from the hole. Therefore, air inhalation due to a decrease in the liquid level of the lubricating oil is avoided, and a decrease in the efficiency of the oil pump due to air mixing can be prevented.
According to the engine of the first aspect of the present invention, the rising portion is provided at the rear edge of the hole in the forward direction of the vehicle, so that the oil pan when the vehicle is rapidly accelerated forward is provided. It is avoided that the lubricating oil inside overflows from the hole. Therefore, it is possible to avoid a situation where air bubbles are mixed into the lubricating oil that overflows in the gear train disposed immediately behind the oil pan and return to the oil pan, thereby preventing a reduction in the efficiency of the oil pump due to air bubbles mixing. it can.
According to the engine of the first aspect of the present invention, the rising portion is inclined such that the side surface in the forward direction of the vehicle faces inward of the oil pan, so that the lubricating oil in the oil pan can be reduced. The returning action can be exhibited effectively.
According to the engine of the third aspect of the present invention, the rising portion is configured to have a curved surface whose lateral cross-sectional shape is recessed on the side surface in the forward direction of the vehicle. The returning action can be exhibited more effectively than in the case of claim 3.
Engine according to the invention of claim 4 is the rear side near the rising portion of the baffle plate, since the holes returning lubricating oil returning the lubricating oil on the baffle plate in the oil pan is provided, The rising part prevents the lubricating oil on the baffle plate from returning from the hole into the oil pan, but instead returns it quickly into the oil pan through the lubricating oil return hole. Can do.
According to the engine of the fifth aspect of the present invention, the lubricating oil return hole is formed so as to open long in the vehicle width direction along the rising portion, so that the lubricating oil is quickly returned into the oil pan. be able to.
According to the engine of the sixth aspect of the present invention, since the lubricating oil return hole has a labyrinth structure, it is possible to prevent the lubricating oil from coming out of the baffle plate from the lubricating oil return hole.
In the engine according to the seventh aspect of the present invention, the labyrinth structure of the lubricating oil return hole portion includes a projecting portion extending inward of the oil pan and a flange portion extending along the baffle plate surface. Since the opening on the oil pan side of the part is opened rearward below the baffle plate surface, the lubricating oil return hole part is substantially blocked by the collar part when viewed from the diagonally forward lower side inside the oil pan. Since it is peeled off, it is possible to make it difficult for lubricant to come out of the baffle plate.
Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described.
(First embodiment)
First, a first embodiment according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. The present embodiment will be described below for a motorcycle adapted to a saddle-ride type vehicle.
First, the overall configuration of a motorcycle to which this embodiment is applied will be briefly described. As shown in FIG. 1, the motorcycle 1 includes a
A power unit P is suspended from the
A side stand 34 is attached to the engine
In FIG. 2, the
The
The front bank BF is roughly classified into a
In the present embodiment, as described above, the
The
Therefore, in the
Furthermore, the
The
The operation of the thus configured lubricating oil supply mechanism will be briefly described.
The above-described
Note that the lubricating oil L that has passed through the oil fill passes through a predetermined oil passage to a transmission (for example, a main shaft, a countershaft, a clutch mechanism, etc., and also passes through a main gallery that is appropriately branched from the oil passage, so that the engine crankshaft and piston , Supplied to the camshaft and the like.
The lubricating oil L that has finished the lubricating action is returned to the lower side of the crankcase, stored in the

The operation of the
A situation when the motorcycle 1 starts suddenly from a stop, for example, or suddenly accelerates while traveling will be described.
When this sudden acceleration or the like occurs, the lubricating oil L stored in the
This movement that flows out is described schematically. For example, when the amount of the lubricating oil L stored in the
In addition, for example, a case where the storage amount of the lubricating oil L is small and the liquid level Ls is at a low level will be described. In this case, as shown in FIG. 6, the lubricating oil L moves in a direction (arrow L5) or an upward direction (arrow L6) that once hits the rear wall surface 41a of the oil pan and overflows upward. It is speculated that a flow will occur. A part of the lubricating oil L is likely to overflow from the
In this way, since the lubricating oil L in the
Further, as can be seen from the position of the gear train 50 (see FIG. 3), the lubricating oil L does not overflow from the
Further, in the present embodiment, a lubricating
Further, the lubricating

(Second Embodiment)
A second embodiment according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIG.
In the second embodiment described below, only the structure of the rising portion shown in FIG. 8 is different from that of the first embodiment, and therefore, the same components as those of the first embodiment are not shown. In addition, the same reference numerals are given and description thereof is omitted. FIG. 8 shows a partially enlarged cross section of the
The
Hereinafter, the operation of the

The first and second embodiments of the present invention have been described above. However, the present invention is not limited to the configuration of the above embodiments, and various modifications can be made. For example, the direction and number of rising portions provided in the baffle plate and the structure of the return hole portion of the lubricating oil can be appropriately changed as necessary, and are not particularly limited.
Moreover, although the structure in 1st Embodiment and 2nd Embodiment demonstrated the structure corresponding to the time of sudden acceleration of a vehicle, it is not limited to this, The structure which can exhibit the same effect at the time of deceleration of a vehicle Can be adopted. Furthermore, it can be adapted to the movement in which the lubricating oil goes out of the oil pan due to the left and right shaking of the vehicle.
In other words, in the structure corresponding to the vehicle deceleration, the rising portion inclined at the oil pan inward toward the rear side is provided at the
