Description
焼成後にコージェライトとなるように、タルク、カオリン、アルミナ、シリカ等を所定の配合割合で調合し、バインダー、界面活性剤、水を加え、所定の配合割合で混合して坏土を得た。得られた坏土を、焼成後に表4及び表5に示すセル構造となるように乾燥、焼成段階での収縮率を考慮して、スリット幅を調整した口金を付けた押し出し成形機を用いて押し出し成形を行い、乾燥、焼成後に直径が100mmで長さが120mmの、セルの形状が略正方形となるハニカム構造体を作製した(図1参照)。触媒は、三元触媒を担持させた。比較例1は、全ての領域において気孔率が同一のセル構造(隔壁の厚さ(リブ厚)140μm、セル密度54セル/cm2)を持つ試料である。
排気量2.0Lのガソリンエンジン車の排気管にハニカム構造体をキャニングした。排ガス規制モード(JC−08)走行時に、排気管と接続したパイプから、排ガスをサンプリングした。具体的には、バッグ(袋)に排ガスを貯め、走行終了後に溜まった排ガスを分析計に通すことでHCエミッション(排出ガス中の未燃炭化水素(HC))を測定した(JC−08の規定によった)。比較例1を基準にしてHC浄化性能として表に示す。
Claims (4)
- 第1のセル構造を有する第1領域と、その第1のセル構造よりも高開口率の第2のセル構造を有する第2領域の少なくとも2種の異なるセル構造を有する領域によってハニカム構造が形成され、
前記第1のセル構造と前記第2のセル構造は、第1領域における開口率をOFA1、水力直径をHd1、第2領域における開口率をOFA2、水力直径をHd2としたとき、
(OFA1×Hd1 2)/(OFA2×Hd2 2)比が0.9以上1.1以下の範囲として形成されており、
前記第1領域と、前記第2領域とが、少なくとも1方向において交互に繰り返し配置され、
セルの連通方向に垂直な断面における、前記第1領域を形成する境界線の境界線間距離の最小距離と、前記第2領域を形成する境界線の境界線間距離の最小距離とがそれぞれ5〜40mmであるハニカム構造体。 - 前記第1のセル構造と前記第2のセル構造は、
(OFA1×Hd1 2)/(OFA2×Hd2 2)比が0.95以上1.05以下の範囲として形成されており、
セルの連通方向に垂直な断面における、前記第1領域を形成する境界線の境界線間距離の最小距離と、前記第2領域を形成する境界線の境界線間距離の最小距離とがそれぞれ10〜30mmである請求項1に記載のハニカム構造体。 - コージェライト化原料、アルミナ、ムライト及びリチウムアルミノシリケート(LAS)、チタン酸アルミニウム、ジルコニア、炭化珪素、窒化珪素、活性炭、及びゼオライトからなる群から選ばれる少なくとも一種のセラミックスから構成される請求項1または2に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記第1領域と前記第2領域とが、セルの連通方向に垂直な断面において、市松模様、同心円状、または1方向において繰り返されている縞模様に形成されている請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のハニカム構造体。
