図1に示すように、1はエギゾーストマニホルドで、本実施形態では4気筒の内燃機関100に用いられるものである。内燃機関100は、第1〜第4気筒#1〜#4に連通した第1〜第4排気ポートP1〜P4を備えている。本実施形態では、第1気筒#1、第3気筒#3、第4気筒#4、第2気筒#2の順に点火され、この順序で排気される。
第1気筒#1での燃焼による排気は、第1排気ポートP1から貫通孔10を通って第1下側枝管部26と第1上側枝管部52とによる第2流路57に流入し、次に、平坦部42と第1上側枝管部52との間の第2流路57から、平坦部42と上側集合管部56との間の第2流路57を通り、コンバータ6に送られ、コンバータ6から下流側の図示しない排気管に送られる。

板材からプレス成形した第2上側外殻部材を、前記第1上側外殻部材及び前記下側外殻部材に対し、前記第1上側外殻部材を挟むように前記下側外殻部材の表裏面のうち前記一方の面側から重ね合わせて、前記第1排気ポートと前記第4排気ポートとの排気ポート群に接続する第2流路を前記第2上側外殻部材と前記下側外殻部材との間に形成するとともに前記第1流路と前記第2流路とを仕切り、
前記下側外殻部材に前記第1上側外殻部材の外周に応じた段部を形成し、前記段部に前記第1上側外殻部材を重ね合わせたことを特徴とするエギゾーストマニホルド。 - 前記第1上側外殻部材は前記第2上側外殻部材と前記下側外殻部材との下流側端まで形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載のエギゾーストマニホルド。
