Description
図1は、第1の実施の形態に係る液晶表示装置の断面を示している。液晶表示装置は、アレイ基板100と、アレイ基板100に対向して配置された対向基板200と、両基板の間隙に挟持された液晶層300と、両基板間を一定に保つためにアレイ基板100上に配置されたスペーサ103を備える。アレイ基板100の背面側には図示しないバックライトが配置され、液晶表示装置はこのバックライトからの照明光を光源として画像表示を行う透過型の液晶表示装置とする。
次に、第2の実施の形態に係る液晶表示装置について説明する。この液晶表示装置の基本的な構成は、第1の実施の形態で説明したものと同様である。以下では、第1の実施の形態と異なる点を中心に説明する。
次に、第3の実施の形態に係る液晶表示装置について説明する。この液晶表示装置の基本的な構成は、第1の実施の形態で説明したものと同様である。以下では、第1の実施の形態と異なる点を中心に説明する。
次に、第4の実施の形態に係る液晶表示装置について説明する。この液晶表示装置の基本的な構成は、第1の実施の形態で説明したものと同様である。以下では、第1の実施の形態と異なる点を中心に説明する。
次に、上記各実施の形態の理解を容易にするために、比較例としての液晶表示装置について上記各実施の形態との相違点を中心に説明する。

Claims (1)
- 複数の画素電極がマトリクス状に配置されたアレイ基板と、
前記アレイ基板に対向して配置され、前記複数の画素電極に対応してカラーフィルタの着色層が形成されるとともに、隣接する着色層の隙間を遮光する遮光層が形成された対向基板と、
前記2枚の基板の間隙に挟持された液晶層と、
前記遮光層の上に隣接する着色層を積層させ、前記アレイ基板に接触しないように形成した前記基板面に対して平行に伸びる壁状の構造物と、を有し、
前記構造物は各画素電極間に形成されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
