有機発光材料を含むとともに電子及びホールを輸送する第1の電子ホール輸送層と、
前記第1の電子注入層と第1の電子ホール輸送層との間にあり、前記第1の電子注入層および前記第1の電子ホール輸送層に接するとともに前記第1の電子ホール輸送層から電子を取込む第1のホール注入層と、
前記第1の電子ホール輸送層に接し電子又はホールをブロックするブロッキング層と、
を含むことを特徴とする有機EL素子。 - 前記第1の電子ホール輸送層は、電子輸送性の材料とホール輸送性の材料とを含み、
前記ブロッキング層は電子を透過させない、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機EL素子。 - 前記第1の電子ホール輸送層は、ホール輸送性の材料と電子輸送性の材料とを含み、
前記ブロッキング層はホールを透過させない、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機EL素子。 - 前記第1のホール注入層は前記第1の電子ホール輸送層に対し、電圧が高い場合はホール注入を行い、電圧が低い場合にはトンネル効果により電子を輸送する、
ことを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の有機EL素子。 - 前記ブロッキング層に接し、有機発光材料を含むとともに電子及びホールを輸送する第2の電子ホール輸送層と、
前記第2の電子ホール輸送層に接するとともに前記第2の電子ホール輸送層から電子を取込む第2のホール注入層と、
前記第2のホール注入層に接する第2の電子注入層と、
前記第2の電子注入層に接する第2の電極層と、
をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機EL素子。 - 前記第1の電子ホール輸送層および前記第2の電子ホール輸送層は、電子輸送性の材料とホール輸送性の材料とを含み、
前記ブロッキング層は電子を透過させない、
ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の有機EL素子。 - 前記第1の電子ホール輸送層および前記第2の電子ホール輸送層は、ホール輸送性の材料と電子輸送性の材料とを含み、
前記ブロッキング層はホールを透過させない、
ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の有機EL素子。 - 前記第1のホール注入層および前記第2のホール注入層は電子ホール輸送層に対し、電圧が高い場合はホール注入を行い、電圧が低い場合にはトンネル効果により電子を輸送する、
ことを特徴とする請求項5から7のいずれか一項に記載の有機EL素子。
