Description
図1は本発明の第1実施形態による液晶表示装置用薄膜トランジスタ表示板の構造を示した配置図であり、図2は本発明の第1実施形態による液晶表示装置用対向表示板の構造を示した配置図であり、図3は本発明の図1及び図2の表示板を整列(位置合わせ)させて、完成した第1実施形態による液晶表示装置の構造を示した配置図であり、図4は図3の液晶表示装置をIV-IV’線に沿って切断した断面図である。
このような液晶表示装置用薄膜トランジスタ表示板100では、データ線171及びドレーン電極175a、175b。175cと半導体層151とが、一枚の感光膜パターン(現像済みフォトレジスト)を利用したエッチング工程で形成され得る。このような感光膜パターンは、薄膜トランジスタのチャンネル部に対応する部分が、他のデータ線171及びドレーン電極175に対応する部分より厚さが薄い。この時、薄い感光膜パターンは、データ線171を除去し線状半導体151を露出させるようにパターニングするためのエッチングマスクであり、厚い部分はデータ線171及びドレーン電極175を残留させるようにパターニングするためのエッチングマスクとして用いる。このような製造方法により、互いに異なる二つの薄膜を一つの感光膜パターンで形成して製造費用を最少化することができる。

Claims (2)
- 第1絶縁基板と、
前記第1絶縁基板上に形成されている第1信号線と、
前記第1絶縁基板上に形成されている第2信号線と、
前記第1信号線と前記第2信号線に連結されている薄膜トランジスタと、
前記薄膜トランジスタに連結されている画素電極と、
前記第1絶縁基板と対向している第2絶縁基板と、
前記第2絶縁基板上に形成されている共通電極と、
前記第1絶縁基板と前記第2絶縁基板との間に形成されている液晶層と、
前記共通電極内に形成されており、前記液晶層の液晶分子を前記画素の領域において複数のドメインに分割する切開部と、
を備え、
前記切開部は、互いに約90度をなして接続する第1直線部分と第2直線部分とを含む第1部分と、前記第1部分から前記第1信号線と平行な方向に一部分突出されている延長部とを有し、かつ前記切開部は、前記第1直線部分及び前記第2直線部分に形成されている凹部の節目を有し、前記節目は前記第1直線部分と前記第2直線部分のそれぞれの中間部分に配置されることを特徴とする、液晶表示装置。 - 前記切開部の両端に第2信号線と平行な方向に延長部をさらに有する、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
