Description
本発明の第1実施形態に係るシール構造について、図1乃至図4を参照して説明する。
(1)摺接部材4aを、可動部材3の表面3aの摺接部位3bに形成したポーラスな被膜6の表面に弾接させる。この状態で、可動部材3を固定部材2に対して相対移動させると、摺接部材4aが、その弾性や密封流体の圧力等により定まる面圧で、被膜6の表面上を摺動する。
(2)このとき、摺接部材4aと被膜6との摩擦界面においては、摺接部材4aを構成する樹脂の一部が、摩擦によるせん断力に耐えられなくなり、移着粒子となって摺接部材4aから離脱する。
(3)摺接部材4aから離脱した樹脂の移着粒子は、被膜6の最表面に形成された無数の溝または孔6aに捕捉され、被膜6の表面に付着する。
(4)可動部材3の固定部材2に対する相対移動(可動部材3とシール部材4との摺動)を継続させると、上記樹脂の離脱から付着までのプロセスが連続して起こり、被膜6に移着した樹脂の粒子が互いに結合しながら成長してゆく。そして、樹脂の粒子の結合体は、さらに移着粒子の供給を受けて、図1に示したように、互いに結合しながら膜厚方向へ成長しつつ、被膜6の溝または孔6aの中に侵入(一部においては溝または孔6aを充填)していく。
本発明の第2実施形態に係る流体機器のシール構造について、図5(a)(b)および図6を参照して説明する。本実施形態は、第1実施形態に係るシール構造を回転機械に適用した例である。
本発明の第3実施形態に係る流体機器のシール構造について、図7(a)(b)および図8を参照して説明する。本実施形態は、第1実施形態に係るシール構造を往復機械に適用した例である。

Claims (6)
- 流体機器のシール構造であって、
該流体機器の中空の内部領域を画成する第1の部材と、
該第1の部材とともに前記内部領域を画成する、前記第1の部材に対して相対移動可能な第2の部材と、
前記第1の部材に固定され、前記第1の部材と第2の部材との間の隙間をシールするシール部材と、
を備えており、
前記シール部材は、前記第2の部材の表面に摺接する、樹脂から構成された摺接部材を備えており、
前記第2の部材は、その表面における前記摺接部材と摺接する摺接部位に、前記摺接部材を構成する樹脂を前記第2の部材と摺接部材との間の摺動により移着させて形成した樹脂層と、該樹脂層を前記摺接部位に保持する樹脂層保持構造と、を備えており、
該樹脂層保持構造は、放電電極と前記第2の部材の表面における前記摺接部位との間に放電を発生させ、その放電エネルギーによって、前記摺接部位に前記放電電極の構成材料または該構成材料の反応物質を溶着させることにより形成したポーラスな被膜であることを特徴とする流体機器のシール構造。 - 前記流体機器は、回転機械であり、
前記第1の部材は、前記回転機械のハウジングであり、
前記第2の部材は、前記ハウジングに設けられた貫通孔から突出した回転軸であり、
前記シール部材は、前記ハウジングと前記回転軸との間の隙間をシールするパッキンであり、
前記摺接部材は、前記回転軸の外周面に摺接するリング状のリップであり、
前記樹脂層および樹脂層保持構造は、前記回転軸の外周面における前記リップと摺接する摺接部位に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の流体機器のシール構造。 - 前記流体機器は、シリンダ装置であり、
前記第1の部材は、前記シリンダ装置のシリンダ本体であり、
前記第2の部材は、前記シリンダ本体に設けられた貫通孔から突出したピストンロッドであり、
前記シール部材は、前記シリンダ本体と前記ピストンロッドとの間の隙間をシールするパッキンであり、
前記摺接部材は、前記ピストンロッドの外周面に摺接するリング状のリップであり、
前記樹脂層および樹脂層保持構造は、前記ピストンロッドの外周面における前記リップと摺接する摺接部位に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の流体機器のシール構造。 - 前記パッキンは、金属により構成されたリング状の芯金を有し、前記リップが前記芯金に一体的に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項2又は請求項3のうちのいずれかの請求項に記載の流体機器のシール構造。
- 前記樹脂は、自己潤滑性樹脂であることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項4のうちのいずれか1項に記載の流体機器のシール構造。
- 前記放電電極は、金属の粉末、金属の化合物の粉末、セラミックスの粉末、又はこれらの混合粉末から成形したことを特徴とする請求項1から請求項5のうちのいずれか1項に記載の流体機器のシール構造。
