Description
図3(A)において、バックライトの点灯時を“1”、消灯時を“0”とする。図3(B)において、液晶パネルの液晶応答時を“1”、液晶半応答時を“1/2”、液晶未答時を“0”とする。また、液晶パネルの下部は、上側バックライトの影響を受けるため、この影響を“1/4”とする。液晶パネルの中央部は、上側バックライト及び下側バックライトの影響を受けるため、それぞれの影響を“1/2”とする。液晶パネルの上部は、下側バックライトの影響を受けるため、この影響を“1/4”とする。以下、図3(C)のa8を基準“1”とする。
Claims (5)
- 入力映像信号を表示する液晶パネルと、該液晶パネルの上下端に設けられた光源と、該光源の発光を制御する光源発光制御部と、前記液晶パネルを構成する液晶の駆動を制御する液晶駆動制御部とを備えた液晶表示装置であって、
前記液晶駆動制御部は、前記液晶パネルに対する映像信号の書き込みに同期させて、前記液晶パネルの各ライン毎に間欠的に単一色信号の挿入を繰り返す駆動制御を行い、
前記光源発光制御部は、前記液晶駆動制御部による液晶の駆動制御に応じて、前記液晶パネルの上下端に設けられた各光源毎に点灯と消灯とを間欠的に繰り返す発光制御を行い、
前記各光源に同一電流を供給し該各光源を同一輝度で発光させた場合に、前記液晶パネルにおける、任意の時刻の画面輝度を所定の時間で積分した積分画面輝度が低くなる部分が画面上部あるいは画面下部になるように、前記液晶駆動制御部による単一色信号の挿入タイミングと前記光源発光制御部による光源の点灯/消灯のタイミングとが調整された状態において、前記光源発光制御部は、前記液晶パネルの積分画面輝度の差が小さくなる方向に、前記各光源に供給する電流を異ならせることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置において、前記各光源の点灯/消灯のタイミングは、該各光源の対応する表示部分における時間的に隣接する映像とのクロストークを軽減するタイミングであることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置において、前記各光源に設定可能なデュティと該各光源に供給する電流値とを対応付けたデータテーブルを備え、該各光源に供給する電流値は、該各光源のデュティ毎に、前記液晶パネルの積分画面輝度を測定した結果に基づいて設定され、前記光源発光制御部は、前記各光源のデュティの変化に応じて、前記データテーブルを参照することにより、前記各光源に供給する電流値を決定することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置において、前記液晶パネルの積分画面輝度が低くなる部分が画面下部である場合、前記光源発光制御部は、画面下部の積分画面輝度と画面上部の積分画面輝度との差が小さくなる方向に、前記液晶パネルの下端側の光源に供給する電流を上げることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置において、前記液晶パネルの積分画面輝度が低くなる部分が画面上部である場合、前記光源発光制御部は、画面上部の積分画面輝度と画面下部の積分画面輝度との差が小さくなる方向に、前記液晶パネルの上端側の光源に供給する電流を上げることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
