Description
The present invention relates to a demodulation circuit and an optical disc apparatus, and more particularly to reproduction of a wobble signal.
A recordable optical disk has a recording track wobbled, and a recording clock signal is generated based on the frequency of the wobble. The address information on the disk is embedded in the wobble by variously modulating the wobble. Therefore, reproduction of the wobble signal is indispensable for recording, and the quality of the wobble signal greatly affects the recording quality.
On the other hand, as the capacity of CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays and optical disks increases, the track pitch becomes narrower than the light spot diameter focused on the disk, and the wobble signal of the track receives from the wobble signal of the adjacent track. Talk tends to increase. Specifically, the wobble signal phase of the track being recorded / reproduced is disturbed and fluctuated due to the influence of crosstalk from the wobble signal of the track on the inner circumference side or the outer circumference side of the track being recorded / reproduced. Jitter increases, causing an increase in address demodulation errors. For example, in Blu-ray, MSK demodulation and HMW demodulation are performed by multiplying a wobble signal and a clock signal generated by supplying the wobble signal to the PLL circuit. However, crosstalk is a major cause of demodulation errors.
FIG. 6 shows a mechanism of occurrence of crosstalk in the wobble signal. Usually, when the optical disk is on track N, the laser beam spot is applied not only to the track N but also to the adjacent tracks N−1 and N + 1, and the wobble of these tracks N−1 and N + 1 is included in the reproduction signal. The signal is also superimposed. However, the phase relations of the wobble signals of tracks N, N-1, and N + 1 fluctuate as needed, and modulation such as MSK and HMW is added to each wobble signal component. The wobble signal of track N which has received crosstalk from the wobble signal of FIG.
The Blu-ray standard wobble signal is a combination of both MSK and HMW systems, and a heterodyne system is employed as a demodulation system. In this method, a modulation unit is detected by multiplying a wobble signal by a clock signal obtained by supplying the wobble signal to the PLL circuit. Since the PLL circuit operates in accordance with the average wobble frequency and the average phase according to the time constant of the loop filter, the clock generated by the PLL circuit cannot follow the jitter due to the crosstalk component variation.
FIG. 7 shows a heterodyne operation with or without crosstalk. FIG. 7A shows the state of heterodyne multiplication of the MSK modulation unit without crosstalk. By integrating the signal waveform after multiplication, the MSK modulator can be detected. FIG. 7B shows the state of heterodyne multiplication in the MSK modulation unit when the wobble signal and the multiplication clock signal cause a phase shift due to crosstalk. Compared to FIG. 7A, the envelope of the waveform after multiplication is wavy, and it is difficult to accurately detect the MSK modulator. FIG. 7C shows the state of the heterodyne multiplication of the HMW modulator without crosstalk, and FIG. 7D shows the HMW modulator when the wobble signal and the clock signal for multiplication cause a phase shift due to crosstalk. Shows the state of heterodyne multiplication at. From these figures, it can be seen that, similarly to the MSK modulation unit, the HMW modulation unit is difficult to detect due to envelope disturbance in the multiplied waveform due to the phase shift due to crosstalk.
In the prior art, in order to solve the above problem, it is disclosed to prepare a large number of clocks having different phases in order to select a clock having an optimum phase. For example, the following
However, preparing a large number of clocks having different phases in this way complicates the configuration and increases the cost.
An object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus capable of demodulating a wobble signal with high accuracy while eliminating the influence of crosstalk with a simple configuration.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

The recording / reproducing operation with respect to the
データ記録時の記録パワーは、OPC(Optimum Power Control)により光ディスク10の内周側に形成されたPCA(Power Calibration Area:パワー較正領域)を用いてテストデータを試し書きすることで最適化される。

In such an overall configuration, the

FIG. 4 shows the configuration of a control circuit that controls the band of each LPF and HPF. The band control circuit is a part of the wobble signal demodulation circuit shown in FIG. Normally, the filter band of the wobble signal regeneration system is a fixed value, or in the case of CAV (constant angular velocity) correspondence, each filter is created by a wobble signal PLL as a filter whose band is variable by an input clock such as a switched capacitor type. Control by clock signal. However, in this embodiment, when the influence of the filter is relatively large, the SPM is accelerating or decelerating, such as when seeking, and the SPM rotation speed has not reached the target rotation speed, the filter band for the reproduction wobble signal However, this is not necessarily optimal, and there is a possibility that the address demodulation may be hindered. Therefore, in the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 4, the band of each filter is limited using an SPM FG pulse (output signal).
That is, the

Thus, in this embodiment, the influence of the phase shift of the wobble signal due to crosstalk can be eliminated by detecting the zero cross point of the wobble signal, generating a sine wave from the interval of the zero cross point, and performing the heterodyne multiplication.
