Description
基材−Cr接着層−CrN勾配層−CrN被覆層
Cr/N層系内にはCr2N(33原子%のN)およびCrN(50原子%のN)を伴う含む金属性Crのほかに2つの窒化物が存在する。PVD工程における窒素分圧の調整如何に応じて様々な相または混合相が形成される。

図1は、ピストンリング本体およびその上に付与された作動面コーティング層の横断面である。
Claims (6)
- ピストンリング本体(2)の外周面(3)上に複数の層(4、5、6)を積層して前記外周面(3)に付与することによって被覆層を形成するための方法において、
プロセスガスへ窒素を添加することなく、PVD法により先ず最初にCrベースの少なくとも1層の金属性接着層(4)を前記外周面(3)に付与し、続いて、前記接着層(4)の上にCrN勾配層(5)を形成するため、窒素分圧を引き上げながら窒素をプロセスガスへ添加し、最後にCrN、Cr2Nまたは両相の混合体をベースとする一定組成の少なくとも1層の被覆層(6)を前記CrN勾配層(5)の上に付与し、
前記窒素分圧の引き上げが連続的に行われ、
前記CrN勾配層(5)が1〜8μmの層厚で生成され、
前記被覆層(6)が10〜80μmの層厚で生成され、
前記接着層(4)が0.1〜1μmの層厚で生成され、
前記CrN勾配層(5)内の層組成がCrから始まってCr/Cr 2 N混合体、Cr 2 N、Cr 2 N/CrN混合体を経てCrNへと変化している
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記窒素分圧の引き上げがランプ関数により行われることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 層全体の厚さが30〜50μmである場合、CrN勾配層(5)が2〜6μm、接着層(4)が<0.6μmの層厚で生成されることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 複数の層(4、5、6)がその外周面(3)に積層されて付与されている本体(2)から成るピストンリングであって、前記外周面(3)の方に向いた前記接着層(4)がCrベースのPVD接着層であり、前記接着層(4)の上にCrから始まりCr/Cr2N混合体、Cr2N、Cr2N/CrN混合体を経てCrNに至るまでの層組成を持つCrN勾配層(5)が付与され、前記CrN勾配層(5)の上にCrN、Cr2Nまたは両相からの混合体をベースとする一定組成の少なくとも1層の被覆層(6)が付与されている本体から成り、
前記CrN勾配層(5)が1〜8μmの層厚を有し、かつ
前記被覆層(6)が10〜80μmの層厚を有する
ことを特徴とするピストンリング。 - 前記接着層(4)が0.1〜1μmの層厚を有していることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載のピストンリング。
- 層全体の厚さが30〜50μmである場合、前記接着層(4)が<0.6μmおよび前記CrN勾配層(5)が2〜6μmの層厚を有していることを特徴とする請求項4または5に記載のピストンリング。
