Description
The present invention relates to a gas sensor and a gas sensor control device that are preferably used for measurement of combustion gas and exhaust gas of, for example, a combustor and an internal combustion engine.
又、排気ガス中の窒素酸化物(NOx)の浄化方法として、尿素SCR(Selective Catalytic Reduction、選択還元触媒)方式が開発されている。 2. Description of the Related Art As a gas sensor that improves fuel consumption and combustion control of an internal combustion engine such as an automobile, an oxygen sensor and an air-fuel ratio sensor that detect an oxygen concentration in exhaust gas are known. Further, a urea SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) method has been developed as a method for purifying nitrogen oxide (NO x ) in exhaust gas. Urea SCR system, by adding urea to the SCR catalyst to generate ammonia, is intended to reduce NO x with ammonia, the ammonia sensor for ammonia concentration for reducing NO x to determine whether an appropriate amount is determined ing.
As such an ammonia sensor, an electromotive force type plate sensor that detects an ammonia concentration based on an electromotive force between a reference electrode and a detection electrode formed on the surface of an oxygen ion conductor has been proposed (see Patent Document 1). ). In this sensor, an ammonia-

Acid type plate sensors have been proposed (see Patent Document 2). In this sensor, while the sensitive layer 15 is exposed on the sensor surface, the temperature sensor 21 is built in the
Further, as a cylindrical electromotive force type ammonia sensor, a
On the other hand, conventionally, based on the internal resistance of the solid electrolyte of the sensor, the voltage applied to the heater element is controlled, and the sensor is controlled to a constant temperature to stabilize the measurement (see Patent Document 3). ).
By the way, in the case of the plate-shaped sensors described in Patent Documents 1 and 2, the detection unit is exposed on the sensor surface, or the detection unit is disposed immediately below the air-permeable layer (protective layer or catalyst layer) that is exposed on the sensor surface. On the other hand, since the temperature sensor that controls the temperature of the detection unit is disposed inside the sensor, there is a problem that the temperature of the detection unit that is easily influenced by the gas to be measured cannot be accurately measured by the temperature sensor. In particular, there is a problem that it is difficult for the temperature sensor to follow a sudden temperature change of the detection unit.
Further, in the case of the cylindrical sensor described in Patent Document 3, since the heater element is a separate body from the sensor, the temperature control of the detection unit becomes more difficult.
In addition, the cylindrical sensor described in Patent Document 3 controls the sensor to a predetermined temperature with a heater element. However, since it takes time for the detection unit to reach the predetermined temperature, gas concentration detection during that time may be inaccurate. The gas concentration detection becomes inaccurate because it cannot follow the sudden change in temperature during temperature control.
That is, an object of the present invention is to provide a plate-like gas sensor that can improve the temperature control accuracy of the detection unit and improve the detection accuracy of the gas to be measured.
In order to solve the above problems, the gas sensor of the present invention is a plate in which a detection unit for detecting a specific gas in a measurement gas is exposed on the surface, or the detection unit is disposed immediately below the gas permeable layer exposed on the surface. A dense insulating layer that does not transmit gas is formed on the outermost layer constituting the back surface opposite to the front surface of the sensor element portion, and the temperature of the detecting portion is directly below the dense insulating layer. Temperature detecting means for detecting the sensor element, and the sensor element portion further has a temperature detected by the temperature detecting means between the detecting portion and the temperature detecting means in the stacking direction of the sensor element portions. based Ru integrally includes a heater which is controlled.
With such a configuration, since the temperature detecting means is disposed only on the back surface of the plate-shaped sensor element portion through the dense insulating layer, the temperature changes due to the temperature change on the back surface of the sensor element portion affected by the gas to be measured. The detection means follows more sensitively than before. On the other hand, since the detection part is exposed on the surface of the sensor element part, or the detection part is arranged directly below the air-permeable layer that exposes the surface, the temperature of the detection part is affected by the gas to be measured. Close to the surface temperature. Therefore, the measured value of the temperature detection means approximates the temperature of the detection unit, and the temperature of the detection unit can be accurately measured to improve the detection accuracy of the gas to be measured.
The dense insulating layer preferably has a thickness of 50 μm or less.
With such a configuration, the dense insulating layer can be made thin as long as the temperature detecting means has a protective effect, and the temperature detecting means follows the outside temperature more sensitively, thereby improving the temperature measurement accuracy.
The detection unit may include a pair of electrodes and a sensitive unit provided in contact with the pair of electrodes, and may detect an ammonia concentration in the measurement gas based on an impedance change between the pair of electrodes. Good.
The detection unit includes a solid electrolyte layer and a pair of electrodes laminated on both sides of the solid electrolyte layer, respectively, and the ammonia concentration in the measurement gas is changed by an electromotive force change between the pair of electrodes. May be detected.
In the solid electrolyte layer, it is preferable that an exposed portion excluding a portion where the electrode is laminated is covered with a predetermined insulating layer .
The gas sensor control device of the present invention is used to control the gas sensor, is connected to the gas sensor, and corrects the detection output of the specific gas from the sensor element unit based on the temperature detected by the temperature detection means. It has fluctuation correction means.
Even in the gas sensor that can accurately measure the temperature of the detection unit by the temperature detection means and improves the detection accuracy of the gas to be measured, the detection unit has a minute time until the detection unit reaches a predetermined temperature. When the gas sensor control apparatus is used, the gas concentration detection during this minute time is corrected based on the detected temperature of the temperature detecting means, so that the detection accuracy of the gas to be measured can be further improved. Further, the gas concentration can be accurately detected following the sudden change in temperature.
According to the present invention, it is possible to obtain a plate-like gas sensor in which the accuracy of temperature control of the detection unit is increased and the detection accuracy of the gas to be measured is improved.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described.
<First Embodiment>
FIG. 1 shows a cross-sectional view along the longitudinal direction of a gas sensor (ammonia sensor) 200A according to a first embodiment of the present invention. The

Next, the configuration of the

The pair of comb-shaped

This is because the temperature detection means 14A is also porous, and when the water-based ink passes through the dense insulating

Then, the gas

Furthermore, the
As described above, in the above-described embodiment, the
Note that a gas-permeable protective layer, poisoning prevention layer, or the like may be provided on the surface of the

<Second Embodiment>
Next, a gas sensor (ammonia sensor) according to a second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG.

但し、リード30C右端は絶縁層20Cで被覆されずに露出し、電極端子部40C(さらに、後述するリード37Cと接続する電極端子部41C)を形成している。

Then, the insulating layer 24C2 is laminated and pressure-bonded on the insulating layer 24C3, further cut into a predetermined shape, debindered at a predetermined temperature (for example, about 400 ° C.), and fired at a predetermined temperature (for example, 1520 ° C.). The insulating layers 24C2 to 24C4 increase the electrical insulation between the reference electrode 2C and the heater 16. In FIG. 5, the insulating layers 24C2 to 24C4 are collectively illustrated as the insulating

The reference gas chamber may be a space or may be filled with a porous material.

Further, when the selective layer is formed, a paste mainly composed of a metal oxide, which becomes the selective layer, is screen-printed on the

As described above, as the temperature detecting means, in addition to the resistor, one that measures the internal resistance of the solid electrolyte can be used.

MC302 corresponds to the temperature fluctuation correcting means of the present invention.

And MC302 acquires a correction coefficient with reference to a map based on the temperature of a sensor element part. In the present embodiment, for example, when the element temperature exists between the maps (for example, when the NH 3 concentration is 50 ppm and the element temperature is 635 ° C.), the interpolation result of the correction coefficient before and after is calculated and used as the correction coefficient ( for example, calculated NH 3 concentration 50 ppm, and the correction coefficient 0.88 of
Next, correction processing by the MC (CPU) 302 will be described with reference to FIG.

Since the gas sensor control device of the present invention uses the above-described gas sensor, the temperature detection means has high temperature detection sensitivity, and even when the gas temperature fluctuates due to the influence of the gas flow velocity, the temperature change of the gas concentration signal can be promptly changed. Correction and gas concentration detection become accurate.
The present invention is not limited to the above embodiment. The present invention can be applied to any gas sensor in which the detection unit is exposed on one surface of the plate-shaped sensor element unit (or exposed through the gas permeable layer), for example, in the exhaust gas of an automobile or various internal combustion engines. , and nO x gas concentration detection gas sensor in the combustion gases of a boiler or the like, can be applied to the oxygen sensor such as a full-range air-fuel ratio sensor is not limited to these applications. For example, in the case of a NO x gas sensor, by changing the set voltage of the second pump cell, gases other than NO x (for example, CO x , H 2 O, HC, etc.) are decomposed when selected, and the concentration of these gases is measured. You can also. In addition, by changing the set voltage for decomposing each gas stepwise, a multi-component gas such as O 2 , NO x , H 2 O, CO 2 can be measured with one gas sensor.
Examples of the oxygen sensor include a TF (zirconia plate type) oxygen sensor in which an electrode is exposed on one side of the sensor element and the other electrode faces the atmosphere introduction chamber inside the sensor element.

{Z(ガス中NH3=0ppm)−Z(ガス中NH3=100ppm)}/Z(ガス中NH3=0ppm)×100
(2) Sensor characteristic evaluation Using a model gas generator, sensor characteristics were evaluated. The gas composition of the model gas generator was O 2 = 10% CO 2 = 5% H 2 O = 5% N 2 = bal. NH 3 = 0 or 100 ppm. A sensor is placed in the gas flow of the model gas generator, and when the gas temperature is changed at two points of 180 ° C and 280 ° C, the ammonia concentration in the measured gas is measured by each sensor, and the gas temperature Follow-up to change (sensor sensitivity) was evaluated. The control temperature of the sensor element portion was 400 ° C. for the impedance type ammonia sensor and 650 ° C. for the electromotive force type ammonia sensor.
The following calculation formula was used for the sensor sensitivity.
Sensor sensitivity of impedance sensor =
{Z (NH 3 in gas = 0 ppm)-Z (NH 3 in gas = 100 ppm)} / Z (NH 3 in gas = 0 ppm) x 100
However, Z is the impedance value indicated by the sensor Sensor sensitivity of electromotive force sensor = Sensor electromotive force (NH 3 in gas = 100 ppm)-Sensor electromotive force (NH 3 in gas = 0 ppm)
FIGS. 12 and 13 show sensor sensitivity with respect to elapsed time when a sensor is arranged in the gas flow of the model gas generator to change the gas temperature.
In the case of Examples 1 and 2, even if the gas temperature changes suddenly (180 ° C and 280 ° C), the change in sensor characteristics (sensitivity) is small, and the relaxation time for the sensor sensitivity to return to a steady state is short, and the sensor characteristics It was found that the influence of can be reduced. This is because the temperature detecting means is disposed in the vicinity of the sensor surface layer, can detect a temperature substantially the same as the detecting portion temperature, and can immediately control the detecting portion temperature based on the temperature measurement result.
On the other hand, in Comparative Examples 1 and 2, when the gas temperature changed suddenly, the sensor sensitivity changed greatly, and the relaxation time for the sensor sensitivity to return to the steady state also became longer. This is because the temperature detection means is disposed inside the sensor, the detection part temperature of the sensor surface layer cannot be detected, and it takes time to control the detection part temperature based on the temperature measurement result, and a stable output is obtained. This is because it takes time to complete. The solid acid material tends to be more sensitive as the control temperature is lower.
Moreover, although the experiment was similarly performed on the electromotive force type ammonia sensor according to the third and fourth embodiments, which is a modified example of Example 2, the results were as good as Example 2. .
(3) Effect of temperature correction by gas sensor control device Next, a controller (gas sensor control device) having the configuration shown in FIG. 9 was used and connected to the ammonia sensors of Examples 1 and 2. And according to the processing flow of FIG. 11, the sensor output (gas concentration signal) was temperature-corrected. The map shown in FIG. 10 was used for correction.
In the same manner as in Examples 1 and 2, a sensor was placed in the gas flow of the model gas generator, the gas temperature was kept constant at 280 ° C., the gas flow rate was changed from 1 m / s to 6 m / s and returned to 1 m / s. FIG. 14 and FIG. 15 show the sensor sensitivity (output) with respect to the elapsed time.
In the example (FIG. 14) in which the sensor output was temperature-corrected, the sensor output was stable even when the temperature of the gas sensor element changed suddenly. On the other hand, in the comparative example (FIG. 15) in which the sensor output was not temperature-corrected, the sensor output fluctuated when the temperature of the gas sensor element changed suddenly.
