Description
本発明は、イオン性液体およびそれらを調製するための方法に関する。特に、本発明は、比較的低温で液体であるイオン性液体に関する。本発明によるイオン性液体化合物は、約100℃未満の温度で液体であり、そして好ましくは60℃未満で液体であり、そして更に好ましくは、周囲温度または周囲温度付近で液体である。更に、本発明は、ポリマーイオン性電解質およびそれらを調製する方法にも関する。特に、本発明は、特定のポリマーを加えることによって、本発明のイオン性液体をゲル化することに関する。本発明によるポリマー化合物は、約0℃〜約200℃の温度でゲル様であり、そして、周囲温度または周囲温度付近で、5ミリジーメンス/cmを超える導電率を有する。
イオン性液体は、電気化学において、例えばバッテリ、燃料電池および光電子デバイスにおいて、および電着法において特有の用途も有する。
これらのニーズは、本発明によって満たされる。アミン窒素1モルあたり約3モルのフッ化水素を使用して複素環式アミンから形成されるイオン性液体は、ハロゲン化亜鉛、ハロゲン化錫およびハロゲン化鉄の第四級アンモニウム塩に比べて導電性が数桁大きいことを発見した。更に詳しくは、複素環式アミンを、アミン窒素1モルあたり約2.8〜3.2モルのフッ化水素と混合すると、しかしながら高度に導電性のポリマーゲルを形成する望ましい塩様特性を有するイオン性液体が得られることを発見した。
単独でまたは2種以上のものを一緒に混合したときにイオン性液体として機能する本発明のイオン性液体は、複素環式アミンとフッ化水素との塩を形成させることによって調製される。本発明と一緒に使用するのに適する複素環式アミンは、芳香族、例えばピロール、イミダゾール、プリン体、ピラゾール、ピリジン、ピリダジン、ピラジン、キノリン、キナゾリン、ピリミジンなどであることができ、または、それらは、非芳香族、例えば完全に飽和しているピロリジン、ピロリドン、ピペラジン、ピペリジンなど、および非芳香族であるが不飽和であるピロリンなどであることができる。
10,000センチポアズ未満の粘度が好ましい。
多くの本発明の好ましい実施態様のうちのいくつかの実施態様を、以下の非限定的な実施例において例示する。
実施例1−フッ化水素によるピリジン塩の形成
約60グラムの無水フッ化水素を、オートクレーブ中に含まれている約55グラムのピリジンに撹拌しながらゆっくりと加えて、ピリジン対HFのモル比を1:3にした。反応熱がひいたら、その混合物を冷却し、そしてそのオートクレーブに含まれている115グラムの液体を、ピリジンの沸点に比べて90℃高く、またフッ化水素の沸点に比べて160℃高い180℃で沸騰させた。その液体は、成分に分離することができなかった。その物質を分析すると、新化合物の構造は、イオン性液体[ピリジン・H+][H2F3]−(または、ピリジン・3HF)であることが確認された。純粋なイオン性液体の導電率は98mS/cmと測定された。その液体は、ガラスと反応するオラーの試薬とは異なり、ホウケイ酸ガラスを腐食しなかった。
実施例2−HFピリジン塩のゲル化
オートクレーブからイオン性液体を取り出す前に、撹拌しながら、ポリアクリル酸ナトリウム(分子量50,000)を加えた以外は、実施例1を繰り返した。溶液は粘性となり、15重量%ポリアクリル酸ナトリウムにおいて、液体ゲルは、粘性が大きくなり過ぎて撹拌できなくなった。導電率を測定すると、なお78mS/cmあった。ポリマー含量を増加させながら導電率を測定すると、ポリマー濃度の関数として78〜98mS/cmまでなめらかに変化した。
実施例3−カリウムポリアクリレートによるゲルの形成
ポリマーとしてカリウムポリアクリレートを使用して実施例2を繰り返した。結果は、同じであり、ゲルが形成されるにしたがって著しく増加した。ポリマー20%におけるゲル導電率は、74mS/cmであった。
実施例4−ポリアクリル酸によるゲルの形成
ポリマーとしてポリアクリル酸を使用して実施例2を繰り返した。結果は同じであった。ポリマー23%におけるゲル導電率は、76mS/cmであった。
実施例5−フッ化水素によるα−ピコリン塩の形成
約60グラムの無水フッ化水素を、オートクレーブ中に含まれている約69グラムのα−ピコリンに撹拌しながらゆっくりと加えて、ピコリン対HFのモル比を1:3にした。
反応熱がひいたら、その混合物を冷却し、そしてそのオートクレーブに含まれている129グラムの液体を、α−ピコリンの沸点に比べて80℃高く、またフッ化水素の沸点に比べて180℃高い200℃で沸騰させた。その液体は、成分に分離することができなかった。その物質を分析すると、新化合物の構造は、イオン性液体[α−ピコリン・H+][H2F3]−(またはα−ピコリン・3HF)であることが確認された。純粋なイオン性液体の導電率は73mS/cmと測定された。その液体は、ガラスと反応するオラーの試薬とは異なり、ホウケイ酸ガラスを腐食しなかった。
Claims (3)
- 少なくとも1種の複素環式アミンと、アミン窒素1モルあたり2.8〜3.2モルの無水フッ化水素とを反応させることによって形成される、100℃未満の融点を有するイオン性液体、および該イオン性液体のゲルを形成するのに有効な量のポリアクリル酸とを含むポリマーイオン性ゲル。
- 150℃未満の融点を有し、振動片粘度計(vibrating reed viscometer)を使用して20℃で測定すると10センチポアズを超える粘度を有し、かつ1〜600ミリジーメンス/cmの比導電率を有する請求項1記載のポリマーイオン性ゲル。
- 化合物[ピリジン・H + ][H 2 F 3 ] − 、または化合物[α−ピコリン・H + ][H 2 F 3 ] − を含む請求項1または2に記載のポリマーイオン性ゲル。
