Description
Claims (15)
- 工具本体を備える切削工具であって、前記工具本体が、それぞれがポケット基壁、側壁、及びこれらの間にある応力除去溝を備える複数のインサート受容ポケットと、前記ポケットそれぞれに取り付けられた少なくとも1つの切削用インサートと、第1部分及び第2部分を含む頂面とを含み、前記頂面が、前記応力除去溝から前記工具本体の隣接ポケットの後面に向かって延びて前記第1部分及び前記第2部分と交わる隆起した応力スプリッタを更に含み、前記応力スプリッタは、加工作業中、前記応力除去溝の領域における最大応力を減少させることを特徴とする切削工具。
- 前記応力スプリッタの高さが、0.001インチから前記応力除去溝の半径に等しい最大高さの範囲にあることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の切削工具。
- 前記応力スプリッタの高さが、0.001インチから前記切削用インサートの切削刃よりも高くない最大高さの範囲にあることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の切削工具。
- 前記応力スプリッタが、前記応力除去溝から前記工具本体の隣接ポケットの後面まで延びることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の切削工具。
- 前記応力スプリッタが、前記応力除去溝から前記工具本体の隣接ポケットの後面までの距離の一部にわたって延びることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の切削工具。
- 前記応力スプリッタが、前記応力除去溝から実質的な曲線に沿って延びることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の切削工具。
- 前記応力スプリッタが、隆起した尾根部から成ることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の切削工具。
- 前記応力スプリッタが、隆起部から成ることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の切削工具。
- それぞれがポケット基壁、側壁、及びこれらの間にある応力除去溝を備える複数のインサート受容ポケットと、第1部分及び第2部分を含む頂面とを備える、工具本体であって、前記頂面が、前記応力除去溝から前記工具本体の隣接ポケットの後面に向かって延びて前記第1部分及び前記第2部分と交わる隆起した応力スプリッタを更に含み、前記応力スプリッタが、加工作業中、前記応力除去溝の領域における最大応力を減少させることを特徴とする工具本体。
- 前記応力スプリッタの高さが、前記頂面の前記第1部分及び前記第2部分に対し、0.001インチから前記応力除去溝の半径と同じ大きさの範囲に、この最大高さに対するもう一方の制限が、切削用インサートの切削刃よりも高くないことを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の工具本体。
- 前記応力スプリッタが、前記応力除去溝から前記工具本体の隣接ポケットの後面まで延びることを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の工具本体。
- 前記応力スプリッタが、前記応力除去溝から前記工具本体の隣接ポケットの後面までの距離の一部にわたって延びることを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の工具本体。
- 前記応力スプリッタが、前記応力除去溝から実質的な曲線に沿って延びることを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の工具本体。
- 前記応力スプリッタが、隆起した尾根部から成ることを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の工具本体。
- 前記応力スプリッタが、隆起部から成ることを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の工具本体。
