Claims (8)
- 4つ以上の原色を用いて表示を行う多原色液晶表示装置に用いられ、入力された映像信号を4つ以上の原色に対応した多原色信号に変換する信号変換回路であって、
多原色液晶表示装置の画素がマクベスチャートにおけるダークスキンを表示するための多原色信号を生成する際には、画素を正面方向から見たときの色度を示すCIE1976色度座標(u', v')と、画素を斜め60°方向から見たときの色度を示すCIE1976色度座標(u60', v60')とによって規定される色差Δu'v'=((u'-u60')2+(v'-v60')2)が0.03以下となるように映像信号の変換を行う、信号変換回路。 - 多原色液晶表示装置の画素がマクベスチャートにおけるダークスキンを表示するための多原色信号を生成する際には、前記色差Δu'v'が0.008以下となるように映像信号の変換を行う、請求項1に記載の信号変換回路。
- 多原色液晶表示装置の画素がマクベスチャートにおけるライトスキンを表示するための多原色信号を生成する際には、前記色差Δu'v'が0.01以下となるように映像信号の変換を行う、請求項1または2に記載の信号変換回路。
- 4つ以上の原色を用いて表示を行う多原色液晶表示装置に用いられ、入力された映像信号を4つ以上の原色に対応した多原色信号に変換する信号変換回路であって、
多原色液晶表示装置の画素がマクベスチャートにおけるライトスキンを表示するための多原色信号を生成する際には、画素を正面方向から見たときの色度を示すCIE1976色度座標(u', v')と、画素を斜め60°方向から見たときの色度を示すCIE1976色度座標(u60', v60')とによって規定される色差Δu'v'=((u'-u60')2+(v'-v60')2)が0.01以下となるように映像信号の変換を行う、信号変換回路。 - 多原色液晶表示装置の画素がマクベスチャートにおけるライトスキンを表示するための多原色信号を生成する際には、前記色差Δu'v'が0.008以下となるように映像信号の変換を行う、請求項3または4に記載の信号変換回路。
- 表示に用いられる原色の数をnとしたとき、入力された映像信号に基づいてルックアップテーブルを参照することによって、n個の原色のうちの(n−3)個の原色の輝度を得て、前記(n−3)個の原色の輝度を用いた演算を行うことによって前記n個の原色のうちの残りの3個の原色の輝度を算出する、請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の信号変換回路。
- 前記ルックアップテーブルを格納するルックアップテーブルメモリと、
前記演算を行う演算部と、を備える請求項6に記載の信号変換回路。 - 請求項1から7のいずれかに記載の信号変換回路と、前記信号変換回路によって生成された多原色信号が入力される液晶表示パネルと、を備える多原色液晶表示装置。
