Description
特に高齢の男性の間での良性前立腺過形成(BPH)、及び前立腺癌の高い発生率が、早期発見のための効果的手法の必要性を裏付けている。前立腺癌は、毎年約30,000人もの男性の死因となっており、肺癌に次いで男性の死亡率が2番目に高い癌である。しかし、前立腺癌が早期に発見され、効果的な治療が行われた場合には、患者の生存率は大幅に向上する。前立腺癌の早期診断のための現行手法として、直腸内触診(DRE)、前立腺特異抗原(PSA)の血中濃度測定、及び経直腸超音波(TRUS)検査等がある。
然るに、本発明の目的は、前立腺等の触診可能な器官の客観性及び一貫性のある機械的イメージングのための新規な方法及び装置を提供し、手術者の技量が検査結果に及ぼす影響を排除することによって、従来技術の上記又は他の問題点を克服することである。
本発明の対象物及び種々の利点は、添付図面を参照する以下の詳細な説明を参照することで、より完全に理解されることができる。
以下、添付図面を参照して本発明について詳細な説明を示す。なお、図中において、同種の構成要素は同様の参照文字及び参照番号で示される。
Claims (6)
- 生来的な身体開口を通じて触診可能な器官の機械的イメージングを行うための装置であって、
前記身体開口を通過可能な寸法に形成され、前記触診可能な身体器官に押し当てられたときに圧力応答データを取得可能な2次元の圧力センサアレイを備えたプローブヘッドと、
前記プローブヘッドに連結されており、前記プローブヘッドから前記圧力応答データを取得することが可能な電子ユニットと、
前記電子ユニットに連結された処理・表示手段と、を含んでおり、
前記処理・表示手段は、前記プローブが前記触診可能な器官に対して押し当てられたときの前記圧力応答データから計算される各々の部分的な機械的イメージからなる複数の部分的な機械的イメージを計算する手段と、各々の部分的な機械的イメージと前回の部分的な機械的イメージの重複部分を検出するために両者を比較する手段と、前記複数の部分的な機械的イメージを統合するために、前記重複部分を用いて前記複数の部分的な機械的イメージを統合することで、前記複数の部分的な機械的イメージから前記触診可能な器官の合成イメージを作成する手段と、をさらに含むことを特徴とする装置。 - 前記プローブヘッド側の圧力センサアレイは、複数の個別圧力センサを含んでおり、
前記センサは、容量性の圧力トランスデューサ、圧電性の圧力トランスデューサ、抵抗性の圧力トランスデューサ、及びマイクロマシン技術を用いた圧力トランスデューサからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記プローブヘッドは、前記プローブの位置の位置データを提供可能な配向追跡手段をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前立腺の機械的イメージングを行うための二重アレイ式の経直腸プローブであって、
直腸内に収まる寸法に形成され、2次元のヘッド側圧力センサアレイを備えたプローブヘッドと、
前記プローブヘッドに取り付けられ、シャフト側圧力センサアレイを備えたプローブシャフトと、を含む経直腸プローブ。 - 前記シャフト側圧力センサアレイは、少なくとも1つの直線配列の圧力センサアレイを含むことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の経直腸プローブ。
- 前記シャフト側圧力センサアレイは、2次元の圧力センサアレイであることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の経直腸プローブ。
