Claims (4)
- 被削材の表面に対し斜め方向に配置され、第1方向の縦振動を発生する第1縦振動子と、
前記被削材の表面に対し斜め方向に配置され、前記第1方向と交差する第2方向の縦振動を発生する第2縦振動子と、
前記第1縦振動子と前記第2縦振動子の先端部同士を連結する連結部材と、
前記連結部材に取付けられた切削工具と、
前記第1と第2縦振動子を駆動して前記切削工具の刃先を楕円振動させる駆動手段と、
を備え、
前記連結部材を介して一体化された前記第1および第2縦振動子は、第1と第2振動モードで振動し、前記第1振動モードは、前記第1と第2縦振動子間の角度を2等分する中心線が延びる中間方向に沿う振動であり、前記第2振動モードは、前記中間方向と直交する方向に沿う振動であり、該第1および第2振動モードの共振周波数のうち、少なくとも一方の共振周波数を他方の共振周波数に近づけるように調整することを特徴とする、楕円振動切削装置。 - 前記第1と第2縦振動子の少なくとも一方に、前記第1と第2振動モードの一方の共振周波数を他方の共振周波数に近づけるスリットを設けた、請求項1に記載の楕円振動切削装置。
- 前記第1と第2縦振動子の少なくとも一方に、前記第1と第2振動モードの一方の共振周波数を他方の共振周波数に近づける質量部を設けた、請求項1に記載の楕円振動切削装置。
- 前記第1と第2縦振動子は圧電素子を有するランジュバン型振動子であり、
前記連結部材の近傍に位置する前記第1と第2縦振動子の形状を、前記連結部材に近づくにつれて細幅となるテーパ形状とした、請求項1から請求項3のいずれかに記載の楕円振動切削装置。
