Description

The present invention relates to an automatic teller machine (ATM) installed in a financial institution such as a bank or a post office or a convenience store, and in particular, a cash equipped with a biometric authentication device that authenticates an individual using biometric information. It relates to an automatic transaction apparatus.

Conventional ATMs mainly use a magnetic card as a personal authentication method, and authenticate whether the user is a valid person in combination with the input of a personal identification number. + Individual authentication using a personal identification number is starting to raise concerns about low security. Therefore, adoption of biometric authentication devices such as IC cards, fingerprints, and finger veins is being studied as an authentication method with enhanced security. For example, a system is disclosed in which a user is authenticated by collating fingerprint data read by an IC card in which fingerprint information is registered and a scanner mounted on an ATM (Patent Document 1).
