Description
・フィラメントヤーンを、液状又は粉末状の合成樹脂或いは液状又は粉末状の熱可塑性プラスチックに浸漬させ、含浸させたフィラメントストランドを形成する工程、
・含浸したフィラメントストランドを圧縮して、平行に配列させたフィラメントのレイド材料とする工程、
・合成樹脂を使用した場合には、熱処理により合成樹脂を硬化させる工程、
・平坦化したフィラメントストランドを冷却する工程および
・フィラメントストランドを切断して、所定の幅と長さとする工程を含む。
・繊維凝集物を炭化可能なポリマと混合する工程、
・該混合物を加圧、高温下で成形して成形物品を得る工程、
・該成形物品を加熱して酸化性物質を排除し、炭素のマトリックスを有する繊維強化多孔質物体を形成させる工程および
・該多孔質炭素物体を1種又は複数の炭化物形成性元素の溶融物に浸潤させ、マトリックスの炭素の少なくとも幾分かを炭化物に転換させる工程。

である、ポリマで接着した繊維凝集物が好ましい。
Claims (13)
- 以下のプロセス工程を含むプロセスを実施することにより製造された、ポリマで接着した繊維凝集物であって、
ここで、前記プロセスは、
フィラメントヤーンを、液状若しくは粉末状の熱硬化性樹脂又は液状若しくは粉末状の熱可塑性プラスチックに浸漬又は含浸して、浸漬又は含浸したフィラメントストランドを形成する工程、
前記浸漬又は含浸したフィラメントストランドを圧縮して、平行に配列させたフィラメントのレイド材料とする工程、
熱硬化性樹脂を使用した場合には、熱処理により前記熱硬化性樹脂を硬化させる工程、
前記平坦化フィラメントストランドを冷却する工程および
前記フィラメントストランドを切断して所定の幅と長さとする工程
を含むとともに、
前記切断工程の前に、テープ状に平坦化させた前記フィラメントストランドを加熱により酸化性物質を排除しながら炭化させる工程を含み、
前記プロセスを実施することにより得られた繊維凝集物が、炭素、セラミックス物質、ガラス、金属および有機ポリマから選択した短繊維と、熱硬化性樹脂および熱可塑性プラスチックから選択した高分子接着性樹脂とを含み、前記繊維凝集物が、繊維の方向に測定した平均長さが3〜50mmで、繊維の方向とは直角の方向に測定した平均の厚みが0.1〜10mmであり、かつ前記含まれる全ての繊維の内の少なくとも75%が、前記繊維凝集物の平均長さの90〜110%の長さである、
繊維凝集物。 - 長さ対幅の比が、2:1〜100:1であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の繊維凝集物。
- 最大限3層の繊維層を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の繊維凝集物。
- 炭素繊維を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の繊維凝集物。
- 請求項1に記載のポリマで接着した繊維凝集物を製造するプロセスであって、
フィラメントヤーンを、液状又は粉末状の熱硬化性樹脂又は液状又は粉末状の熱可塑性プラスチックに浸漬又は含浸して、浸漬又は含浸したフィラメントストランドを形成する工程、
前記浸漬又は含浸したフィラメントストランドを圧縮して、平行に配列させたフィラメントのレイド材料とする工程、
熱硬化性樹脂を使用した場合には、熱処理により前記熱硬化性樹脂を硬化させる工程、
前記平坦化フィラメントストランドを冷却する工程および
前記フィラメントストランドを切断して所定の幅と長さとする工程
を含むとともに、
前記切断工程の前に、テープ状に平坦化させた前記フィラメントストランドを加熱により酸化性物質を排除しながら炭化させることを特徴とする、
プロセス。 - 前記プロセス工程の少なくとも1つを連続で実施することを特徴とする請求項5記載のプロセス。
- 前記浸漬又は含浸工程の前に、ガスを吹き付けることにより前記フィラメントストランドをけばだたせることを特徴とする請求項5記載のプロセス。
- 前記炭化させたテープをピッチでコーティングし、次いで再び炭化させることを特徴とする請求項5から7までのいずれか1項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記炭化させたテープを炭化可能なポリマ又はピッチでコーティングすることを特徴とし、ここで、炭化可能なポリマ又はピッチのコーティングと同時に又はその後で、炭素粉末、セラミックス粉末および炭化物形成性元素の粉末から選択した充填剤を、追加して適用可能であることを特徴とする請求項5から8までのいずれか1項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記プロセス工程の少なくとも1つを連続で実施することを特徴とする請求項5から9までのいずれか1項に記載のプロセス。
- 繊維強化複合材料であって、
請求項5から10までのいずれか1項に記載のプロセス工程を含むプロセスを実施することにより得られた繊維凝集物であって、繊維の方向に測定した平均長さが3〜50mmで、繊維の方向とは直角の方向に測定した平均の厚みが0.1〜10mmである繊維凝集物又は請求項1から4までのいずれか1項に記載の繊維凝集物を含み、前記含まれる全ての繊維の内の少なくとも75%が、前記繊維凝集物の平均長さの90〜110%の長さである繊維強化複合材料。 - そのマトリックスが、セラミックス物質からなることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の複合材料。
- 繊維強化セラミックス複合材料を製造するためのプロセスであって、請求項5から10までのいずれか1項に記載のプロセス工程を含み、更に、
繊維凝集物を炭化可能なポリマと混合する工程、
前記混合物を加圧、高温下に成形して成形物品を得る工程、
前記成形物品を加熱して、酸化性物質を排除し、炭素のマトリックスを有する繊維強化多孔質物体を形成させる工程および
前記多孔質炭素物体を1種又は複数の炭化物形成性元素の溶融物に浸潤させ、マトリックスの炭素の少なくとも幾分かを炭化物に転換させる工程
を含むプロセス。
