Description
図1に示すような構造を有する本発明の二軸押出機を使用し、これに成形原料として、セラミックス原料(タルク、カオリン、仮焼カオリン、アルミナ、水酸化アルミニウム、シリカ)70kgと、水21kgと、バインダー5kgとの混合物96kgを投入して、130kg/h、200kg/h、260kg/hの各押出量にて円柱状のハニカム成形体(直径:102mm、長さ:120mm、隔壁厚さ:75μm、セル形状:四角形、セル密度:600セル/平方インチ)を押出成形した。なお、第一の整流板の貫通孔の孔径は5mmとし、貫通孔の配置ピッチは6.5mmとした。また、第二の整流板の貫通孔は、その断面積が最も小さい部分における孔径を12mmとした。各押出量にて成形されたハニカム成形体の一端面と他端面とで、それぞれ最大径と最小径を測定し、それらの差から各端面における真円度(=最大径−最小径)を求めた。その結果を表1に示す。
図4に示すような構造を有する従来の二軸押出機を使用した以外は、前記実施例と同様にしてハニカム成形体を押出成形し、同様に真円度を求めた。その結果を表1に示す。なお、整流板の貫通孔の孔径は24mmとした。
Claims (1)
- 平行に配された2本のスクリューを内部に有し、一端に開口部を有するバレルと、前記バレルの前記開口部側に整流板及び濾過網を介して配された押出成形用の口金とを備えた二軸押出機であって、
前記整流板が、第一の整流板と第二の整流板とから構成され、前記第一の整流板は、前記開口部の内周の寸法・形状と合致した寸法・形状の領域に複数の貫通孔が形成された孔形成領域を有するものであり、前記第二の整流板は、一方の開口端の内周の寸法・形状が前記孔形成領域の内周の寸法・形状と合致し、他方の開口端に至る過程で、断面積が一旦減少した後、テーパ状に拡大するような孔構造を持った1つの貫通孔を有するものである二軸押出機。
