Description
本願は、2005年1月18日に出願された「Tool with Selectively-Biased Member」と題する米国仮特許出願第60/644,732号の開示の優先権を主張する。
次に、図面を詳細に参照すると、全図にわたって同じ符号は同じ要素を示しており、図1及び図2は、近位端4及び遠位端6を有する工具2を示す。導管8が、工具2の軸に沿って近位端4から遠位端6まで延びる。本明細書で用いる場合、「導管」という用語は、流体、材料等を搬送、通過、又は他の方法で連通させることができる構成の任意のチャネル又は他の構造を含むことが意図される。本例では、導管8は、工具2によって流体媒体を連通させるように構成される。しかしながら、他の適当な構成を用いて流体連通を可能にしてもよいことが、当業者には理解されよう。
Claims (17)
- (a)次の(i)〜(v)を備える細長い部材と、
(i)軸方向、角度方向、及び半径方向を画定する中心軸、
(ii)第1の端及び第2の端、
(iii)前記第1の端に位置し、少なくとも1つが少なくとも1つのブレード部材を備える、少なくとも2つの末端、
(iv)前記少なくとも2つの末端に隣接し、前記第2の端に向かって延びて前記第1の端で開き、差込部材を受け入れるように構成されるスロット、
(v)前記スロットと流体連通する導管、
(b)前記スロット内に位置決めされた差込部材であって、
(i)第1の端、
(ii)第2の端、及び、
(iii)少なくとも一方が凹状部分を有する2つの側面を備えるプレートを含み、前記凹状部分は、くぼみと前記プレートの第2の端から前記くぼみに延びる溝を備え、前記溝は、前記導管から前記くぼみへ流体連通するよう構成され、前記スロットに連通される流体を前記少なくとも2つの末端の1つ又は複数に向けて導くように構成される差込部材と、
を備える、被加工物を加工する工具。 - 前記スロットは、前記中心軸に沿って延びる、請求項1に記載の工具。
- 前記差込部材は、前記2つの側面のそれぞれに形成される1つ又は複数の開口を有し、前記凹状部分は、該1つ又は複数の開口の少なくとも1つに隣接する、請求項1に記載の工具。
- 前記凹状部分内に配置される少なくとも1つのウェハをさらに備える、請求項3に記載の工具。
- 前記凹状部分は、前記1つ又は複数の開口の少なくとも1つを画定するリッジを有する、請求項3に記載の工具。
- 前記差込部材は、前記少なくとも1つのブレード部材と前記中心軸との間の距離を前記流体の圧力に応じて変えるように構成される、請求項1に記載の工具。
- (a)次の(i)〜(iii)を備える工具と、
(i)軸方向、角度方向、及び半径方向を画定する中心軸、
(ii)被加工物から材料を除去するように構成されるブレードを含み、前記軸方向及び前記角度方向に実質的に拘束され、且つ前記半径方向の移動範囲で移動するように構成される、少なくとも1つのブレード部材、
(iii)前記少なくとも1つのブレード部材に隣接して前記中心軸と一致して位置決めされた差込部材であって、
(1)第1の端、
(2)第2の端、及び、
(3)少なくとも一方が凹状部分を有する2つの側面を備えるプレートを含み、前記凹状部分は、くぼみと前記プレートの第2の端から前記くぼみに延びる溝を備え、前記溝は、前記導管から前記くぼみへ流体連通するよう構成され、前記スロットに連通される流体を前記少なくとも2つの末端の1つ又は複数に向けて導くように構成される少なくとも1つの挿入部材、
(b)前記工具を駆動して前記中心軸を中心に回転させるように構成される回転作動装置と、
(c)前記少なくとも1つの挿入部材と流体連通して、前記少なくとも1つのブレード部材を複数の代替的な使用位置の少なくとも1つに前記半径方向に選択的に付勢する、加圧流体供給源と、
を備えるツールシステム。 - 前記中心軸に沿って前記工具に位置決めされるスロットをさらに備え、前記挿入部材は、前記スロット内に配置される、請求項7に記載のツールシステム。
- 前記導管は、前記加圧流体供給源及び前記挿入部材と流体連通する、請求項7に記載のツールシステム。
- 前記導管は、前記中心軸に沿って位置決めされる、請求項9に記載のツールシステム。
- 前記ブレード部材は、前記工具の末端に取り付けられ、前記加圧流体は、流れを有し、前記挿入部材は、該加圧流体の該流れを前記末端それぞれに向けて導くように構成される、請求項7に記載のツールシステム。
- (a)工具軸上に位置決めされる第1の端及び第2の端を有し、該第2の端は、回転作動装置と連結されるように構成され、
(b)前記第2の端及び前記第1の端と流体連通する導管と、
(c)前記第1の端の近くに位置し、それぞれが前記工具軸からそれぞれの第1の距離に位置決めされる、1つ又は複数の切削部材と、
(d)前記第1の端の近くに位置決めされたプレートであって、
(i)第1の端、
(ii)第2の端、及び、
(iii)それぞれが凹状部分を有する2つの側面を備え、前記凹状部分は、くぼみと前記プレートの第2の端から前記くぼみに延びる溝を備え、前記溝は、前記導管から前記くぼみへ流体連通するよう構成され、該凹状部分のそれぞれが前記導管から流体媒体を受け入れるように構成され、該流体媒体の流れを逸らして前記1つ又は複数の切削部材の少なくとも1つを前記工具軸から第2の距離に位置決めさせるように構成されるプレートと、
を有する細長い円筒形部材を備える工具。 - 前記第1の端は、円周を有し、前記1つ又は複数の切削部材の2つ以上は、該円周に沿って等間隔に位置決めされる、請求項12に記載の工具。
- 前記導管は、前記工具軸に沿って位置決めされる、請求項12に記載の工具。
- 2つ以上の末端をさらに備え、前記1つ又は複数の切削部材は、該2つ以上の末端の少なくとも1つに位置決めされる、請求項12に記載の工具。
- 前記2つ以上の末端に隣接して位置決めされるスロットをさらに備え、前記プレートは、該スロット内に位置決めされる、請求項15に記載の工具。
- 前記スロット及び前記プレートは、前記工具軸に沿って位置決めされる、請求項16に記載の工具。
