Claims (15)
- 互いに軸方向に整列し、押し縮められた形状から拡張された形状に拡張可能である、複数の全体的にチューブ状の自己拡張型のステント・セグメントであって、
各々のステント・セグメントは、他のステント・セグメントに接続されておらず、前記拡張された形状においては互いに軸方向に移動可能であり、
前記押し縮められた形状において、前記各々のステント・セグメントは軸移動方向について互いに拘束されず、
展開される前記ステント・セグメントの数はオペレータにより選択可能であり、少なくとも1つのステント・セグメントは展開されず、他の展開された前記ステント・セグメントには接続されない状態で維持され、
前記ステント・セグメントの各々は、
ステントの拡張において、周縁方向に離れて移動可能な第1のストラットと第2のストラットと、
前記第1のストラットと前記第2のストラットの位置関係を保つための前記第1のストラットと前記第2のストラットを開放可能に保持する拘束構造と、
から構成され、
前記拘束構造により前記ステント・セグメントは半径方向に押し縮められた形状で維持され、また前記拘束構造は前記ステント・セグメントを前記拡張された形状に自己拡張できるように選択的に開放可能であることを特徴とするステント。 - 前記拘束構造は、前記第1のストラットに接続されたヘッドと、前記第2のストラットに接続されたレセプタクルとを有し、前記ヘッドは前記レセプタクルにより開放可能に係合されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記拘束構造は、前記第1と第2のストラットの間に延びる、壊れやすい部材を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記拘束構造は、前記第1と第2のストラットの上を延びる被覆であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のステント。
- 前記被覆は、肥厚化を抑制するものである請求項4に記載のステント。

この構造により前記ステント・セグメントは半径方向に押し縮められた形状に維持され、展開される前記ステント・セグメントの数はオペレータによって選択可能であり、展開後は少なくとも1つのステント・セグメントは展開されず、かつ他の展開された前記ステント・セグメントに接続されない状態で維持され、
前記作動部材は、前記複数のステント・セグメントの全てより少ない数に配置可能であり、選択されたステント・セグメントの数だけ作動するように調整可能であるため、少なくとも1つの別のステント・セグメントを半径方向に押し縮められた形状に維持しつつ、展開されたステント・セグメントとは切り離した状態で、前記選択された数のステント・セグメントのみを前記キャリア・シャフトから展開させることが可能であることを特徴とする人体内腔でステントを展開するためのカテーテル・システム。 - 前記作動部材は、前記拘束構造を開放するために前記ステント・セグメントを部分的に拡張させるように構成された拡張部材を含むことを特徴とする請求項6に記載のカテーテル・システム。
