Description
ハード画像形成の構成の中には、液体トナー画像形成システム、及びドライトナー画像形成システムがある。1つの例示的な電子写真(LEP)プロセスは、液体トナー又はドライトナーのいずれかを用いてハード画像を形成するために、複数の処理ステップを含むことができる。例えば、画像を受け取るのに備えて、感光体を帯電することができる。レーザのような光源を用いて、感光体の帯電した表面部分を選択的に放電することができ、それによって、形成されるべき画像に対応する潜像が与えられる。その潜像は、液体トナー又はドライトナーを用いて現像されることができ、その後、現像された画像は、直接転写、及び/又は中間転写によって、媒体に転写され得る。転写ステップ後に感光体の表面上に残留するトナーは、クリーニングステーションによって除去され得る。
本開示のいくつかの態様に従って、ハード画像形成方法、現像方法、ハード画像形成デバイス、及び画像部材が説明される。
以下でさらに詳細に説明されるように、本開示の少なくともいくつかの態様の例示的な画像形成システム及びプロセスは、紙のような媒体のシート上に画像の複数のハードバージョンを形成するために、その上に実質的に固定された(例えば、消去不可能な)画像を有する画像部材を利用する。一実施形態にすぎないが、液体現像(例えば、マーキング)剤を用いて、その画像を現像し、媒体に転写することができる。他の態様及び実施形態も実現可能であり、それらのいくつかが以下に説明される。
Claims (10)
- ハード画像形成デバイスの現像方法であって、
第1の導電率の第1の部分、及び第2の導電率の第2の部分を有する表面(23)を含む画像部材(22)を前記ハード画像形成デバイスに設け、前記第1の部分が前記画像部材(22)の表面で現像されるべき画像の画像形成パターン(56)に対応し、前記第2の部分が前記画像形成パターン(56)に対する背景領域に対応し、前記第1の導電率が前記第2の導電率より高く、
前記画像部材(22)の前記表面に、複数の帯電した画像粒子(64)と複数の帯電した電荷ディレクタ(62)とを含む現像剤を与え、前記帯電した電荷ディレクタ(62)が、前記帯電した画像粒子(64)に対してさらに高い移動度を有し、
前記帯電した画像粒子(64)及び前記帯電した電荷ディレクタ(62)が前記画像部材(22)の表面に誘導されるように、前記画像部材(22)の表面の前記現像剤に電界を与え、前記帯電した電荷ディレクタ(62)が前記電界を遮蔽して、前記帯電した画像粒子(64)が前記第2の部分において現像されないようにし、前記帯電した画像粒子(64)が前記第1の部分に固着して、前記第1の部分に対応する画像の画像形成パターンが前記画像部材(22)の前記表面で現像されることを含む、現像方法。 - 前記電界を与えるための、前記画像部材(22)の外側の電圧の極性が、前記帯電した画像粒子の極性および前記帯電した電荷ディレクタの極性と同じである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記帯電した画像粒子が、前記帯電した電荷ディレクタより大きい、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 前記帯電した画像粒子が、複数の帯電したインク粒子を含む、請求項1、2又は3に記載の方法。
- 前記帯電した画像粒子(64)が、複数の帯電した導電性粒子を含む、請求項1、2、又は3に記載の方法。
- 前記導電性粒子が、ドープされた半導電性粒子または導電性金属製粒子からなる、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記画像形成パターン(56)が、媒体(28)の複数のシートに同じ画像のハードバージョンを与えることができるように、前記画像部材の前記表面に実質的に固定されている、請求項1〜6の何れかに記載の方法。
- 前記第1の部分が導電層(52)からなり、前記第2の部分が非導電層(54)からなる、請求項1〜7の何れかに記載の方法。
- 導電層(52)が前記画像部材(22)の前記表面を覆い、絶縁層は、前記第2の部分に対応する前記導電層(52)の部分を覆うと共に、前記第1の部分に対応する前記導電層の他の部分を外部に露出したままにしておく、請求項1〜8の何れかに記載の方法。
- 前記第1の部分が実質的に結晶化した半導体材料からなり、前記第2の部分が実質的にアモルファス半導体材料からなる、請求項1〜8の何れかに記載の方法。
