Claims (2)
- データ信号を伝達する複数のデータラインと、複数の前記データラインと交叉するように配列され、ゲート信号を伝達する複数のゲートラインと、複数の前記データライン及び複数の前記ゲートラインに接続されて形成された複数の画素と、外部電源電圧を伝達する電源ラインとを備える有機電界発光表示装置であって、
前記画素の各々が、
第1端子が前記データラインに接続され、第2端子が前記ゲートラインに接続され、第3端子から前記データ信号を出力する第1スイッチング手段と、
一方の端子が前記第1スイッチング手段の前記第3端子に接続されているキャパシタと、
前記電源ラインと前記キャパシタの他方の端子との間に接続されている、前記電源ラインと前記キャパシタとの間の導通を制御するための第2スイッチング手段と、
接地端子と前記キャパシタの前記他方の端子との間に接続されている、前記接地端子と前記キャパシタとの間の導通を制御するための第3スイッチング手段と、
第1端子が前記電源ラインに接続され、第2端子が前記第1スイッチング手段の前記第3端子に接続されている、前記電源ラインによる電流を第3端子から出力するための駆動手段と、
前記駆動手段の前記第3端子に接続され、出力される前記電流によって発光する有機発光手段と
を備えており、
前記第2スイッチング手段は、前記第1スイッチング手段がターンオンされて1フレームが開始する時点でターンオンされ、前記第1スイッチング手段がターンオフされた後においてもターンオンが維持され、前記1フレームが終了する時点から所定時間前にターンオフされ、
前記第3スイッチング手段は、前記第2スイッチング手段がターンオフされる時点でターンオンされ、前記1フレームが終了する時点でターンオフされ、
前記キャパシタは、
前記第1スイッチング手段がターンオンされ、かつ、前記第2スイッチング手段がターンオンされる期間において、前記電源ラインと導通する前記他方の端子との間で前記データ信号に対応する電荷を蓄積させつつ、前記一方の端子の電位を前記データ信号の電位に適合させ、
前記第1スイッチング手段がターンオフされ、かつ、前記第2スイッチング手段がターンオンされる期間において、前記データ信号による前記一方の端子への電荷の蓄積が停止され、
前記第3スイッチング手段がターンオンされる期間において、蓄積された前記電荷の作用によって、前記一方の端子の電位を、前記第2スイッチング手段がターンオンされる期間の電位から、前記電源ラインと前記接地端子との電位差に対応させて変動させ、
前記駆動手段は、前記駆動手段の前記第2端子の電位が前記キャパシタの前記一方の端子の電位によって制御されることにより、前記第2スイッチング手段がターンオンされる期間において、前記有機発光手段に伝達される前記電流の量が調節されつつターンオンされるとともに、前記第3スイッチング手段がターンオンされる期間においてターンオフされる
有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記第1スイッチング手段が、前記ゲート信号によりターンオン及びターンオフされ、
前記第2及び第3スイッチング手段が、それぞれ第1及び第2制御信号によりターンオン及びターンオフされることを特徴とする請求項1記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
