Claims (9)
- 受動性部分と能動性部分とを有する集積化された偏光スプリッタであって、
前記受動性部分にアレー導波路グレーティング(AWG)を含み、前記AWGが、
入力カプラと、
出力カプラと、
前記入力カプラと出力カプラを接続する互いに等しくない長さの複数の導波路を含み、
前記AWGの少なくとも2つの出力ポートが、前記AWGの出力側の自由空間領域の異なった位相面に到達する単一チャネル入力信号の第1の偏光成分と第2の偏光成分が前記出力ポートの別々のポートによってそれぞれ受信されるように入力ポートに対して配置され、それにより、前記第1の偏光成分と前記第2の偏光成分が前記AWGによって分けられ、
前記能動性部分及び前記受動性部分が能動性/受動性モノリシック集積化技術により集積化され、前記能動性部分は、前記AWGにより分けられた前記第1の偏光成分及び前記第2の偏光成分のうち少なくとも一方を個別に修正する少なくとも1つの能動性デバイスを含む偏光スプリッタ。 - 前記第1の偏光成分が前記単一チャネル入力信号のTEモードを含み、前記第2の偏光成分が前記単一チャネル入力信号のTMモードを含む、請求項1に記載の偏光スプリッタ。
- 波長で前記単一チャネル入力信号から前記AWGの自由スペクトル領域の整数倍隔てられた入力信号の偏光が前記AWGによってもやはり分けられる、請求項1に記載の偏光スプリッタ。
- 前記出力カプラと前記入力カプラのうちの少なくとも一方がスター・カプラを含む、請求項1に記載の偏光スプリッタ。
- 前記出力カプラと前記入力カプラのうちの少なくとも一方がスラブ導波路レンズを含む、請求項1に記載の偏光スプリッタ。
- 複数のチャネルを有する入力信号について波長の多重化および逆多重化のうちの少なくとも一方を実行する、請求項1に記載の偏光スプリッタ。
- 光導波路から作製され、前記光導波路の各々が
シャロー・エッチングで埋め込まれたリブ構造の受動性層と、
前記埋め込まれたリブ構造の最上部の上で能動性層として機能する多重量子井戸(MQW)の薄層を含む、請求項1に記載の偏光スプリッタ。 - さらに、同調可能な偏光制御器として機能する、請求項1に記載の偏光スプリッタ。
- 受動性部分と能動性部分とを有する集積化された偏光スプリッタであって、
前記受動性部分にアレー導波路グレーティング(AWG)を含み、前記AWGが、
入力信号を受信するための少なくとも1つの入力手段と、
前記入力信号を前記AWGに結合させるための入力結合手段と、
前記AWGから出力信号を結合させるための出力結合手段と、
前記入力結合手段と前記出力結合手段を接続するための互いに等しくない長さの複数の導波路と、
少なくとも2つの出力手段を含み、
前記AWGの前記少なくとも2つの出力手段が、前記AWGの前記出力結合手段の自由空間領域の異なった位相面に到達する前記入力信号の第1の偏光成分と第2の偏光成分が前記出力手段の別々の出力手段によってそれぞれ受信されるように前記少なくとも1つの入力手段に対して配置され、それにより、前記第1の偏光成分と前記第2の偏光成分が前記AWGによって分けられ、
前記能動性部分及び前記受動性部分が能動性/受動性モノリシック集積化技術により集積化され、前記能動性部分は、前記AWGにより分けられた前記第1の偏光成分及び前記第2の偏光成分のうち少なくとも一方を個別に修正する少なくとも1つの能動性デバイスを含む偏光スプリッタ。
