Description

Claims (9)
- (a)近位端と遠位端とを有するカテーテルと、前記カテーテルの前記遠位端に隣接する部分に取り付けられた膨張性融除装置とを備える構造であって、前記融除装置が、拡張状態と折畳み状態とを有し、前記カテーテルの前記近位端に隣接する部分から前記融除装置に連続通路が延在する、構造と、
(b)少なくとも1つの撮像トランスデューサを備える超音波撮像プローブであって、前記プローブは、前記撮像トランスデューサの近傍における組織の構造を撮像するのに適するようにされ、前記プローブは、前記プローブが前記通路内に位置決めされて前記撮像トランスデューサが前記融除装置に隣接して配置される操作状態を有し、前記プローブは、前記通路から取り外し可能である、超音波撮像プローブと、
を備える装置であって、
前記構造は、前記融除装置の遠位側に出口を画定し、前記通路は、前記出口まで延在することを特徴とし、
前記撮像プローブは、前記撮像プローブが前記出口を通って突出することによって前記トランスデューサが前記融除装置の遠位側に配置される拡張位置に、位置決め可能であることを特徴とする、装置。 - 前記拡張状態にある前記融除装置は、略近位側および遠位側に延在する軸を有し、前記拡張状態にある前記融除装置は、融除エネルギーを前記軸を取り囲むループ状の融除領域に加えるように作動し、前記出口は、前記軸と隣接して配置されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記撮像トランスデューサは、前記軸を中心として回転可能であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記撮像プローブは、前記撮像トランスデューサが前記膨張性融除装置の内側に配置される内部操作位置に移動可能であり、前記撮像プローブは、前記内部操作位置にあるとき、前記融除装置を囲む組織を撮像するように作動することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の装置。
- 前記撮像プローブは、前記内部操作位置にあるとき、前記融除領域における組織を撮像することを特徴とする請求項4に記載の装置。
- 前記融除装置は、前記軸を囲むバルーン構造を備えることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記バルーン構造は、前記バルーンを貫通して前記通路の一部を画定する内部構造を備え、前記内部構造の少なくとも一部は、超音波に対して実質的に透過性であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記内部構造は、前記バルーン構造を補強する1つまたは複数の係合要素を備え、前記係合要素の少なくとも1つは、超音波に対して実質的に透過性であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の装置。
- 前記内部構造は、前記バルーン構造の萎縮中に前記バルーン構造を延ばすのに適するようにされたバネを備え、前記バネは、超音波に対して実質的に透過性であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の装置。
