・ビス(8−キノリンチオラート)亜鉛の合成:電磁攪拌機を備えた容量250mlのフラスコにキノリンチオール塩化水素酸塩(5.0g、25.3mmol)、エタノール(100ml)、及び塩化亜鉛(1.75g、12.8mmol)を入れた。アルゴン雰囲気下においてこの混合物を常に約25℃の室温で10分間攪拌した。この混合物に水酸化ナトリウムの10%水溶液(20ml)を滴下して加えた。滴下し終わった後、この反応混合物を0.5時間かけて50℃まで加熱し、続いて約25℃の室温にまで冷ました。得られた黄色い沈殿物を濾過により収集し、続いて水及びメタノールで洗浄して真空オーブンのなかで乾燥すると、4.15gのビス(8−キノリンチオラート)亜鉛ができた(m.p.287.0℃)。
・トリス(8−キノリンチオラート)ガリウムの合成:電磁攪拌機を備えた容量250mlのフラスコにキノリンチオール塩化水素酸塩(3.0g、15.2mmol)、エタノール(50ml)、及び塩化ガリウム(0.9g、5.1mmol)を入れた。アルゴン雰囲気下においてこの混合物を室温で10分間攪拌した。この混合物に水酸化ナトリウムの10%水溶液(12ml)を滴下した。滴下し終わった後、この反応混合物を1.0時間かけて50℃にまで加熱し、続いて室温にまで冷ました。得られた黄色い沈殿物を濾過により収集し、続いて水及びメタノールで洗浄して真空オーブンのなかで乾燥すると、2.25gのトリス(8−キノリンチオラート)ガリウムができた(m.p.351.9.0℃)。
・以下のように有機材料ELデバイスを調製した:1.厚さ500オングストロームの酸化インジウム錫(ITO)でコーティングした厚さ約1mmのガラスを市販の洗浄剤を用いてクリーニングし、脱イオン水でリンスした後、真空オーブンの中で1時間のあいだ60℃で乾燥した。使用する直前に、このガラスをUVオゾンを用いて0.5時間処理した。
ビス(8−キノリンチオラート)亜鉛を付着させる前に80ナノメーターのトリス(8−ヒドロキシキノリネート)アルミニウムを正孔輸送層上に更に付着させて電子輸送層を形成させることを除き、実施例III の手順に従って有機材料ELデバイスを調製した。電子注入層としてビス(8−キノリンチオラート)亜鉛を付着させ、次に実施例III に記載したように陰極としてマグネシウム銀合金を付着させることによってデバイスを完成させた。
実施例III を修正した手順に従って有機材料ELデバイスを調製した。清浄なITO基体上にN,N'−ジフェニル−N,N'−ビス(3−メチルフェニル)−1,1'−ビフェニル−4,4'−ジアミンの80ナノメーターの正孔輸送層を付着させ、次に2つの別々に制御されたタンタル容器からビス(8−キノリンチオラート)亜鉛及びルブレンを同時に蒸発させて80ナノメーターの電子注入及び輸送層を付着させた。ビス(8−キノリンチオラート)亜鉛及びルブレンの融着速度を0.6ナノメーター/秒及び0.03ナノメーター/秒にそれぞれ制御した。実施例III で記載したように陰極としてMg:Ag合金を付着させることによってこのデバイスを完成した。
実施例III の手順を修正した手順に従って有機材料ELデバイスを調製した。清浄なITO基体上にN,N'−ジ−1−ナフチル−N,N'−ジフェニル−1,1'−ビフェニル−4,4'−ジアミンからなる80ナノメーターの正孔輸送層を付着させ、続いて2つの別々に制御されたタンタル容器からビス(8−キノリンチオラート)亜鉛及びN,N'−ジメチル−2,9−ジメチルキナクリドンを同時に蒸発させることによって80ナノメーターの電子注入及び輸送層を付着させた。ビス(8−キノリンチオラート)亜鉛及びN,N'−ジメチル−2,9−ジメチルキナクリドンの融着速度を0.6ナノメーター/秒及び0.006ナノメーター/秒にそれぞれ制御した。実施例III で記載したように陰極としてMg:Ag合金を付着させることによってこのデバイスを完成した。

ビス(8−キノリンチオラート)亜鉛の代わりにトリス(8−キノリンチオラート)ガリウムを使用した以外は、実施例IVの手順に従って有機材料ELデバイスを調製した。

Claims (2)
- 陽極と、
前記陽極上の正孔輸送層と、
前記正孔輸送層上の電子注入層と、及び
前記電子注入層上の陰極を含み、
前記正孔輸送層が、N,N’−ビス−[4’−(N−フェニル−N−m−トリルアミノ)−4−ビフェニリル]−m−トルイジンを含み、
前記電子注入層が、トリス(8−キノリンチオラート)亜鉛を含む
ことを特徴とするエレクトロルミネッセント・デバイス。 - 陽極と、
前記陽極上の正孔輸送層と、
前記正孔輸送層上の電子輸送層と、
前記電子輸送層上の電子注入層と、及び
前記電子注入層上の陰極を含み、
前記正孔輸送層が、N,N’−ジフェニル−N,N’−ビス(3−メチルフェニル)1,1’−ビフェニル−4,4’−ジアミンを含み、
前記電子輸送層が、Alq3を含み、
前記電子注入層が、トリス(8−キノリンチオラート)亜鉛又はトリス(8−キノリンチオラート)ガリウムを含む
ことを特徴とするエレクトロルミネッセント・デバイス。
