空気入りラジアルタイヤとしては、図2に示すように、カーカス21が、内側カーカスプライ22と、その外側に配設される外側カーカスプライ23を有する2プライ構成とされて、各プライ22,23が、トレッド部24からサイドウォール部25を通ってビード部26のビードコア27のタイヤ軸方向内側に至る本体部22A,23Aと、ビードコア27の回りでタイヤ軸方向内側から外側に折り返されて巻き上げられる巻上部22B,23Bを有し、内側カーカスプライ22の本体部22Aと両プライ22,23の巻上部22B,23B間に、ビードコア27から半径方向外方に延びるビードフィラー28が配設されたものがある。

ところで、上記従来のものにおいては、内側カーカスプライ22の巻上部22Bにおける、半径方向の外端縁22Cのビードベースライン(尚、本明細書では、「ビードベースライン」は、JISで規定されるタイヤ断面高さを定めるビード部側のタイヤ軸方向の基準線として定義している。)BLからの高さNO.2TOPが18〜20mmとされ、外端縁22Cが、半径方向に関して、リムフランジ29の近傍とされていた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
内側カーカスプライ22の外端縁22C付近に、走行時に、リムフランジ29からの外力が略直接(略そのまま)作用していた。そのため、ロードインデックス(LI)が110以上の高荷重タイヤでは、走行時に上記外端縁22Cに作用するリムフランジ29からの外力が大きなものとなり、その結果、ビード部26付近の損傷や、上記外端縁22C付近からのセパレーション等が発生し易く、耐久性に問題があった。

この問題を解決するために、高荷重タイヤでは、図3に示すように、ビードフィラー28と両プライ22,23の巻上部22B,23B間に、スチールレインフォース30を配設したり、或いは、図4に示すように、ビードフィラー28として、極太なものを採用したりしている。

上記のものでは、ビード部26付近の損傷は確実に防止できるが、内側カーカスプライ22の外端縁22Cからのセパレーションの発生は防止できず、依然として、耐久性に問題があったのが実情である。又、上記のものでは、タイヤの製造コストの上昇やタイヤ重量の増加を招来するとのマイナス面もあった。

本発明は上記問題を解決できる空気入りタイヤを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために、本発明の特徴とするところは、カーカスが、タイヤ踏面側の内側カーカスプライと、タイヤ内面側の外側カーカスプライを有し、各プライが、トレッド部からサイドウォール部を通ってビード部のビードコアのタイヤ軸方向内側に至る本体部と、ビードコアの回りでタイヤ軸方向内側から外側に折り返されて巻き上げられる巻上部を有し、内側カーカスプライの本体部と両プライの巻上部間に、ビードコアから半径方向外方に延びるビードフィラーが配設された空気入りタイヤにおいて、内側カーカスプライの巻上部における、半径方向の外端縁のビードベースラインからの高さが、42mm以上で、且つ、ビードフィラーにおける、半径方向の外端縁のビードベースラインからの高さの90%以下とされ、外側カーカスプライの巻上部における、半径方向の外端縁のビードベースラインからの高さが、ビードベースラインからタイヤの最大幅部位までの高さの100〜110%とされた点にある。
尚、ビードフィラーにおける、半径方向の外端縁のビードベースラインからの高さが、ビードベースラインからタイヤの最大幅部位までの高さの60〜95%とされることもある。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明をロードインデックス(LI)が110以上の高荷重空気入りラジアルタイヤに適用した実施の形態の一例を図1の図面に基づき説明すると、図1はタイヤの断面を示し、タイヤは、トレッド部1と、左右一対宛のサイドウォール部2及びビード部3を有し、全体形状がトロイダル形状とされている。ビード部3には、断面四角形のビードコア4が環状に埋入されて、左右の両ビード部3間にわたってカーカス5が配設されている。6はリムフランジ、13はベルト層で、2枚のベルトプライ14,15を有する。

ところで、高さNO.2TOPが25mmよりも低いと、走行時に内側カーカスプライ7の外端縁7C付近にリムフランジ6から作用する外力に耐えられず、その結果、ビード部3付近の損傷や、外端縁7C付近からのセパレーション等が発生し易く、耐久性に問題がある。又、高さNO.2TOPが高さBFTOPの90%よりも高いと、内側カーカスプライ7とビードフィラー9の両者の外端縁7C,9Cが接近し、走行時に上記外端縁7C,9Cに応力が集中し易く、その結果、外端縁7C,9Cからのセパレーション等が発生し易く、耐久性に問題がある。

又、外側カーカスプライ8の巻上部8Bにおける、半径方向の外端縁8CのビードベースラインBLからの高さNO.1TOPが、ラインBLからタイヤの最大幅部位(箇所、位置)11までの高さMSHの100〜110%とされている。高さNO.1TOPが高さMSHの100%よりも低いと、走行安定性が悪くなる。又、高さNO.1TOPが高さMSHの110%よりも高いと、外端縁8Cが、トレッド部1とサイドウォール部2の境界部分に接近し、走行時に上記境界部分や外端縁8Cに応力が集中し易く、その結果、上記境界部分や外端縁8Cからのセパレーションやクラック等が発生し易く、耐久性に問題がある。

更に、ビードフィラー9における、半径方向の外端縁のビードベースラインBLからの高さBFTOPが、ラインBLからタイヤの最大幅部位11までの高さMSHの60〜95%とされている。高さBFTOPが高さTMSHの60%よりも低いと、走行安定性が悪くなる。又、高さBFTOPが高さMSHの95%よりも高いと、タイヤの屈曲性が悪くなり、乗り心地が悪くなる。

以下、本発明を実施した実施例と、従来例により、本発明を更に説明するが、本発明は実施例により限定されるものではない。

まず、次の表1に示す仕様(構造)に基づき、各実施例と従来例を製造し、これらを室内ドラムにより、高負荷荷重をかけた状態で、一定速度で走行させ、耐久性を試験した。上記試験時の荷重、速度、室温の各条件及び、試験結果である連続走行距離、外観損傷、内面損傷を次の表2に示す。尚、表2において、連続走行距離の従来例比とは、従来例を各実施例と同一条件で試験した際の連続走行距離(外観損傷及び/又は内面損傷により走行できなくなるまでの連続走行距離)と、各実施例走行距離との比を示している。

表2を見れば、各実施例は、何れも、30000kmを完走して、連続走行距離が従来例よりも長いと共に、上記完走後も外観損傷、内面損傷がないことが分かる。

又、各実施例と従来例の高速性能、実車性能、タイヤ強度の各試験を行った。試験結果を次の表3に示す。尚、表3において、高速性能、実車性能の従来例比とは、従来例を各実施例と同一条件で試験した際の試験結果と、各実施例の試験結果との比を示している。又、タイヤ強度は、目視により、判定した。

表3を見れば、各実施例は、何れも、高速性能、実車性能が、従来例よりも優れていると共に、タイヤ強度も合格レベルに達していることが分かる。

尚、実施の形態は、本発明を高荷重空気入りラジアルタイヤに適用したものであるが、本発明は、その他の空気入りラジアルタイヤや空気入りタイヤ等にも適用可能である。

【発明の効果】
以上詳述したように、本発明によれば、ビード部付近の損傷や、内側カーカスプライの巻上部における、半径方向の外端縁付近からのセパレーション等の発生を防止でき、耐久性を向上できる。又、ビードフィラーと各プライの巻上部間に、スチールレインフォースを配設したり、或いは、ビードフィラーとして、極太なものを採用したりする必要がなく、タイヤの製造コストの上昇やタイヤ重量の増加を招来する惧れもない。更に、走行安定性を良好にできると共に、外側カーカスプライの巻上部における、半径方向の外端縁や、トレッド部とサイドウォール部の境界部分からのセパレーションやクラック等の発生を防止できて、耐久性を良好なものとできる。
請求項2によれば、走行安定性を良好にできると共に、タイヤの屈曲性も良好とできて、乗り心地を良好なものとできる。
