Description
平均分子量1,000のポリエチレングリコール100部を反応槽に仕込み、50℃に加温して液状にし、次いで65℃まで昇温して、トリメチロールプロパン4.7部及び水酸化カリウム1.0部を加えて攪拌し、トリメチロールプロパンを融解させ、脱水反応によって末端反応性の中間体を得た。40℃まで冷却して水酸化カリウムを中和することにより、分子中に三官能性単位と三個の水酸基を有し、分岐点のトリメチロールプロパン単位以外はオキシエチレン単位からなるポリエーテルポリオールを得た。これに、2,4−トリレンジイソシアネートと2,6−トリレンジイソシアネートの80:20の混合物54部を加えて、110℃で2時間反応させることにより、分子末端がイソシアナト基で閉塞されたプレポリマーP−1を、淡黄色液状物として得た。NCO基含量は8.5%、25℃における粘度は27.5Pa・sであった。その平均分子量は、1,800であった。
アルギン酸ナトリウム{和光純薬(株)製 1級アルギン酸ナトリウム 300−400}1部と両末端に水酸基を有するポリオキシエチレン・ポリオキシプロピレン・ポリオキシエチレンブロック共重合体(ポリオキシプロピレン部分の平均分子量1,750、オキシエチレン単位含量20)1部を水100部に加えて攪拌し、界面活性剤が分散したアルギン酸水溶液を調製した。これを激しく攪拌しながら、先に合成したプレポリマーP−1の100部と20℃で混合し、乳化状態で反応させて、アルギン酸が架橋体構造に組み込まれたウレタンフォームを得た。フォームは水を含んでいるので、室温で1日自然放置して、水分を揮散させた。得られたウレタンフォームは、セル数50/25mm、密度85kg/m3の連続気泡であった。このフォームを水に浸漬したところ、自重に対して18倍の吸水があり、親水性であった。
水4.3部に、N,N−ジメチル−シクロヘキシルアミン0.75部、N,N−ジメチル−シクロヘキシル−メチルアミン0.25部、ポリシロキサン・ポリオキシプロピレングラフト共重合体である整泡剤1.0部及びオクタン酸スズ0.2部を配合して撹拌し、発泡剤混液を調製した。次に、グリセリン−ポリオキシプロピレントリオール(平均分子量3,000)100部に、上記発泡剤混液とアルギン酸ナトリウム1.6部(ウレタンフォーム時1wt%となるよう配合)を添加し、次いで、2,4−トリレンジイソシアネートと2,6−トリレンジイソシアネートの80:20の混合物54部を加えて、プロペラ撹拌機を用いて20℃で混合液を撹拌して開口容器に移し、硬化と発泡の反応により、ワンショット法によって標記発泡ポリウレタン(ウレタンフォーム)を得た。
製造例2の親水性ポリウレタンに関して、各重金属イオンをそれぞれ吸着平衡に達するまで吸着させ、ラングミュアプロットによって飽和吸着容量及び吸着親和定数を計算した。具体的には、100mlの重金属イオン(マンガン、コバルト、銀、カドミウム、鉛)を含んだモデルサンプルに、製造例2で得られた親水性発泡ポリウレタン0.5gを入れ、振とう機で撹拌することによって吸着実験を行った。吸着量は、一定時間ごとにサンプリングを行い、誘導結合プラズマ原子発光分析法(ICP−AES)を用いた残存溶液濃度測定結果より得た。ここで、表1の上段と中段は、各重金属イオンの初期濃度を変更することにより求めた、「溶液中残存濃度」と「吸着剤への吸着量」に係るデータである。そして、図1は、当該データに基づく、「溶液中残存濃度」と「吸着剤への吸着量」との関係を示したものであり、図2は、当該データに基づく、「溶液中残存濃度/吸着剤への吸着量」と「溶液中残存濃度」との関係を示したものである。また、表1の下段は、各重金属イオンの飽和吸着容量Qと吸着親和定数KAである。ここで、飽和吸着容量Q{ウレタン1g当たりに吸着する重金属量(μmol)}と吸着親和定数KAは、以下の式から算出した。尚、Cd及びPbに関しては、低濃度における相関が小さかったため、より正確な数値を得るために、全項にCAを乗じて高濃度側に視点を置いた式にした。その結果、いずれも重金属イオンも良好に吸着することが確認された。
モデルサンプルとして複数種の金属イオンが存在する100mlの金属イオン溶液(カドミウム、カルシウム、鉛及びマグネシウムの各イオン濃度:100μM)を用いた以外は、試験1と同様の方法で、製造例2の親水性ポリウレタンを用いた場合と製造例3の疎水性ポリウレタンを用いた場合における、各イオンの経時毎の残存濃度を測定した。その結果を図3及び図4に示す。その結果、親水性ポリウレタン(図3)及び疎水性ポリウレタン(図4)共に、発泡ポリウレタン添加後すぐに全ての金属イオンが少量吸着するが、吸着平衡時は鉛以外のイオンは殆ど吸着しないことが判明した。
次に、アルギン酸濃度を各種変更した上で、製造例2の親水性ポリウレタンを用い、試験例2と同様の方法で(但し24時間経過後)の各イオンの吸着量を調べた(1回目は「1st」、2回目は「2nd」)。その結果を表2に示す(表2中の数値は残留濃度)。その結果、概ね、アルギン酸濃度が増加するに伴い、鉛の選択的吸着性能が向上することが判明した。
図5は、試験1における鉛吸着試験後の、発泡ポリウレタンのSEM画像の電子写真である。当該写真から、表面に多数の粒が存在していることが分かる。そこで、この粒部分をEDSにて分析を行ったところ、図6に示すように、鉛特有のピークが現れたため、当該粒が鉛と結合しているアルギン酸であると推定された。
Claims (6)
- OHを少なくとも二つ有する化合物である活性水素化合物と、イソシアナト基を少なくとも二つ有するイソシアネート化合物とを反応させて得られるポリウレタンからなる重金属捕捉剤であって、
前記活性水素化合物の少なくとも一部としてアルギン酸又はそのナトリウム塩を用い、
前記イソシアネート化合物として、イソシアナト基を少なくとも二つ有するイソシアネート化合物とポリオールとを反応させて得られる、分子末端にイソシアナト基を少なくとも二つ有するプレポリマーを用いる、親水性・発泡ポリウレタンからなる重金属捕捉剤。 - 前記活性水素化合物と、前記イソシアネート化合物の反応が、水中で行なわれる、請求項1記載の重金属捕捉剤。
- 前記プレポリマーを構成する前記ポリオールが、ポリエーテルポリオール及び/又はポリエステルポリオールである、請求項1又は2記載の重金属捕捉剤。
- 前記重金属が鉛である、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項記載の重金属捕捉剤。
- OHを少なくとも二つ有する化合物である活性水素化合物と、少なくとも二個のイソシアナト基を含有するイソシアネート化合物とを反応させる工程を含む、ポリウレタンから構成される重金属捕捉剤の製造方法であって、
前記工程が、
前記活性水素化合物の少なくとも一部としてアルギン酸又はそのナトリウム塩を用い、
前記イソシアネート化合物として、イソシアナト基を少なくとも二つ有するイソシアネート化合物とポリオールとを反応させて得られる、分子末端にイソシアナト基を少なくとも二つ有するプレポリマーを用いると共に
前記活性水素化合物と前記イソシアネート化合物との反応を水中で行なうことにより、親水性・発泡ポリウレタンを製造する工程である、製造方法。 - 前記重金属が鉛である、請求項5記載の製造方法。
