Description
Claims (28)
- 軸線を持つほぼ円筒形の結晶要素と、
前記結晶要素と同軸に配置された光電子増倍管と、
前記結晶要素の一端部と前記光電子増倍管の隣接する端部との間に挟まれ、前記結晶要素及び前記光電子増倍管と共に円筒形のシールドの中に密封されている光カップラと、
前記結晶要素及び前記光電子増倍管に沿って外側に延出し、前記円筒形シールドの半径方向内側に位置する可撓性支持スリーブと
を具備し、
前記可撓性支持スリーブは、前記結晶要素の軸線と垂直な横断面が、平坦な辺を有する多角形である可撓性金属スリーブであることを特徴とする放射線検出器。 - 前記結晶要素の周囲で、前記可撓性支持スリーブの半径方向内側にあるステンレス鋼ラップを含む請求項1記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記ステンレス鋼ラップと前記可撓性支持スリーブとの間に半径方向スペーサを更に具備する請求項2記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記結晶要素と前記可撓性支持スリーブとの間に半径方向スペーサを更に具備する請求項1記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記半径方向スペーサはポリエチルエチルケトンから製造されている請求項4記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記結晶要素は反射テープで包み込まれており、前記可撓性金属スリーブの内面は接触線に沿って前記反射テープと係合する請求項1記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記可撓性金属スリーブは0.002〜0.005インチの範囲内の厚さを有する請求項1記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記結晶要素の他端部に、前記結晶要素により発生した光を前記光電子増倍管に向かって反射させる反射ディスクが配置され、
前記円筒形のシールドはエンドキャップにより閉鎖されており、前記エンドキャップと前記反射ディスクとの間に軸方向ばねが挿入されている請求項1記載の放射線検出器。 - 前記シールドの周囲にあり、それにより、前記シールドの直径を所定の直径まで増加させるサイジングスリーブを更に具備する請求項1記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記サイジングスリーブは前記シールドに接着された金属箔から形成されている請求項9記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記サイジングスリーブは裏面に接着剤が塗布されたテープから形成されている請求項9記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記サイジングスリーブは、前記結晶要素の軸線と垂直な横断面が多角形である可撓性金属スリーブである請求項9記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記サイジングスリーブ及び前記可撓性支持スリーブはステンレス鋼から製造されている請求項9記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記シールドの一端部は、エンドキャップアダプタに装着するための接合面を有するエンドキャップにより閉鎖されている請求項1記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記放射線検出器を検出器ハウジングの内部に嵌合させるためのスペーサ手段を含み、
該スペーサ手段が、前記エンドキャップアダプタの長さ寸法を有効に増加させることにより、前記放射線検出器には長すぎる前記検出器ハウジングの内部に前記放射線検出器を嵌合させる、請求項14記載の放射線検出器。 - 前記放射線検出器を内部に配置させる検出器ハウジングを更に具備し、前記放射線検出器は、外側可撓性金属支持スリーブが前記放射線検出器と前記検出器ハウジングとの間に半径方向に配置される状態で前記検出器ハウジングの中に配置される請求項1記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記外側可撓性金属支持スリーブは前記結晶要素の軸線と垂直な横断面が多角形である請求項16記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記外側可撓性金属支持スリーブはステンレス鋼から製造されている請求項17記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記光カップラはオイルリング付き光カップラである請求項1記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記オイルリング付き光カップラは前記光電子増倍管に接合されている請求項19記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記オイルリング付き光カップラは前記光電子増倍管に成形されている請求項19記載の放射線検出器。
- 軸線を持つほぼ円筒形の結晶要素と、
前記結晶要素と同軸に配置された光電子増倍管と、
前記結晶要素の一端部と前記光電子増倍管の隣接する端部との間に挟まれ、前記結晶要素及び前記光電子増倍管と共に円筒形シールドの内部に気密に密封されたアセンブリを形成する光カップラと、
前記光電子増倍管に隣接し、前記光電子増倍管に電気的に接続された電子部品を収納する、密封された電子部品ハウジングとを具備し、
前記光電子増倍管は前記円筒形シールドの内側でPMTハウジングの内部に装着され、前記光電子増倍管と前記PMTハウジングとの間に、前記結晶要素の軸線と垂直な横断面が、平坦な辺を有する多角形である第1の可撓性金属スリーブが半径方向に配置されている放射線検出器。 - 前記PMTハウジングの一端部は前記光電子増倍管を越えて延出し、前記結晶要素の一部と重なり合っている請求項22記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記PMTハウジングの他端部は前記光電子増倍管を越えて延出し、エンドキャップに当接している請求項23記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記PMTハウジングの前記他端部の半径方向内側の、前記光電子増倍管と前記エンドキャップとの間に1つ以上のスペーサが軸方向に配置されている請求項24記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記結晶要素の軸線と垂直な横断面が多角形であり、前記アセンブリと前記シールドとの間に半径方向に配置された第2の可撓性金属スリーブを含む請求項22記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記シールドを包囲する外側可撓性ハウジングと、前記シールドと前記可撓性ハウジングとの間に半径方向に配置された複数の軸方向に延出する金属ばねとを更に具備する請求項26記載の放射線検出器。
- 前記シールドを包囲する外側可撓性ハウジングと、前記結晶要素の軸線と垂直な横断面が多角形であり、前記外側可撓性ハウジングと前記シールドとの間に半径方向に配置された第3の可撓性金属スリーブとを更に具備する請求項26記載の放射線検出器。
