Description
本発明の流体表示接着物品は、流体を輸送可能な基材(「流体輸送基材」)を含む。流体輸送基材は、基材を通して流体を輸送する。例えば、基材は、米国特許第5,238,623号明細書(ミロジンスキ(Mrozinski))に記載されているようなマイクロポーラスフィルムを含んでいてもよい。通常、流体輸送基材は多孔性層を含む。多くの実施形態において、流体輸送基材は繊維状基材を含む。繊維状基材は、通常、流体を吸収可能である。しかしながら、繊維状基材は、通常、高密度環境において飽和しない。ある実施形態において、基材は吸水基材である。吸水基材は、通常、濡れると粘着形態を維持する材料でできている。好適な基材としては、セルロース系紙のような紙、例えば、ペーパータオルおよびコピー等級の紙が挙げられる。
流体輸送インクを、流体輸送基材の一表面にコートしてインク層を形成する。親水性樹脂層を含む実施形態において、図面に示したようにインクを親水性樹脂層にコートしてもよい。インクは、流体、ペーストまたは粉末として生成された顔料の分散液または染料溶液と定義される。流体に露出されると、流体輸送インクは基材を移動して流体と共に流れる。ある実施形態において、基材の孔がインクを露出し、流体が露出した場合にインクの変位を補助する。
接着層は、インク層表面に、適用、例えば、コートまたはラミネートされる。接着剤は、任意の接着剤、例えば、サーマルボンド(ホットメルト)接着剤または紫外線活性接着剤であってもよい。通常、接着層は、感圧接着剤である。感圧接着剤は、通常、その特性が特徴的である。感圧接着剤は当業者には周知であり、(1)攻撃的および永続的な粘着性、(2)指の圧力より少ない力で基材に接合する、(3)十分に被着体に保持される能力、(4)被着体からきれいに除去できるだけの十分な凝集強度をはじめとする特性を有している。多くの感圧接着剤は、数多くの異なる応力レート条件下でこれらの特性を満足するものでなければならない。感圧接着剤に添加剤を含めて、感圧接着剤の特徴を最適化してもよい。
本発明の水表示接着物品は、任意に、流体輸送基材に透明フィルムを含む透明層を有している。透明層は、インク層の逆の基材表面にある。透明層は、基材端部を超えて延在していてもよいし、基材と同じサイズであってもよい。通常、かかる層は耐水性である。かかる層は、水表示接着物品を、人が取扱い中に、水分から、そして露/結露から保護する。更に、追加の層は、長く浸水させたときに水表示接着物品を保護し、湿気エージング条件での特定の水表示テープの寿命を延ばす。ある実施形態において、インクジェット印刷、熱転写印刷およびフレキソ印刷をはじめとする様々な印刷技術を用いて、透明層は印刷可能である。更に、透明層は、例えば、米国特許第6,117,530号明細書(ジョンザ(Jonza)ら)に開示されているような多層装飾フィルムであってもよい。
本発明の水表示テープは、追加の層を含んでいてもよい。例えば、ある実施形態は、接着層とインク層との間に追加の流体透明基材層を含んでいる。水表示テープはまた、テープを表面に接合する準備が整うまで、接着剤に接合したシリコーンコート紙またはフィルムなどの剥離ライナを含んでいてもよい。
本発明の水表示接着物品は、通常、流体透明基材を、既述した単層または多層のいずれかで流体輸送可能なインクでコートすることにより製造される。ある実施形態において、流体輸送基材は多孔性基材と親水性樹脂層とを含む。親水性樹脂層は、多孔性基材にコートされてもよい。ある実施形態において、親水性樹脂層は、添加剤(例えば、二酸化チタン)を含む。その他の追加の層をまたコートして、流体輸送基材を形成してもよい。基材は、シートの形態であってもよいし、最終製品をテープのロールへと巻くのに好適な長いストリップであってもよい。インクをコートして、基材を完全にカバーしてもよいし、セグメントまたはデザインでコートしてもよい。インクが基材からブリードしないようにインクをコートしなければならない。例えば、インクを剥離ライナにコートしてから、基材に移す。
本発明の接着物品はテープのロールであってもよい。接着物品はまた個々のラベルであってもよい。これらの実施形態において、接着物品は携帯用電子デバイスといったデバイスに配置される。ある実施形態において、接着物品は印刷され、例えば、接着物品は、流体露出のインジケータとしての作用に加えて、保証情報を含むことができる。
コーティング番号1〜4を、吸収基材Aの4枚の別個のシートに、200ピラミッドコーティングシリンダを用いて、ニュージャージー州ローゼルのパーマルコテクノロジーズ社(Parmarco Technologies, Inc.,Roselle,NJ)より入手可能なパマルコ(PAMARCO)ハンドプルーファーにより、それぞれ適用することにより実施例1〜4を作成した。試料は全てホットエアガンを用いて乾燥した。コーティング番号1〜4と同じ手段により赤色染料を実施例1〜4の4つの全てのシートのコート側に適用した。転写接着剤を実施例1〜4の各シートのコート/乾燥側にラミネートした。吸収基材の非コート/乾燥側を透明保護フィルムにラミネートした。直径14mmのいくつかの小さなサークルを、実施例1〜4の作成したシートからダイカットして、インジケータ試験のためにポリエステル保持シートに適用した。
更なる水分散性溶液(コーティング)を実施例5〜11の作成のために処方した。
実施例12〜15は全て吸収基材Bを用いて製造ライン条件下で作成した。実施例12および14は、15%/35%/50%の濃度のPVP#1/TiO2/脱イオン水からなるコーティング番号12でコートした。
以下の修正を行って、実施例1〜4に記載した通りにして実施例16〜24を作成した。表7に示すコーティング溶液16〜24を作成し、吸収基材Cに適用した。実施例16〜24の「1分水接触試験」の結果を表8に示す。
以下の修正を行って、実施例16〜24に記載した通りにして実施例25〜33を作成した。透明保護フィルムは、基材Cの非コート/乾燥側にラミネートしなかった。この構造では、実施例32(上記実施例23に対応するものであるが、保護フィルムはない)をコートおよび乾燥して、試験試料とすることはできなかった。直径14mmのいくつかの小さなサークルを、実施例25〜33の作成したシートからダイカットして、インジケータ試験のためにポリエステル保持シートに適用した。実施例25〜33を、上記実施例5〜11で記載した温度および湿度条件に露出した。実施例25〜33は、水接触にファールスポジティブは示さなかった。全実施例が示した色表示は非常に僅かで、液体水接触に露出されたと考えるには不十分であった。次に、調湿試料に「1分水接触試験」を行った。結果を表9に示す。
Claims (5)
- 低分子量親水性ポリマー樹脂層及び基材の不透明度を制御するためのフィラーを含む流体輸送基材を含み、かつ第1の主面と第2の主面とを有する第1の層と、
流体輸送可能なインクを含み、前記第1の層の前記第2の主面と係合している第2の層と、
前記第1の層とは反対側で前記第2の層と係合している接着層と、
を含む接着物品であって、
前記親水性ポリマー樹脂層は、前記第2の層と前記流体輸送基材の間に配置されており、
前記フィラーは、前記ポリマー樹脂及び前記フィラーの合計重量の5重量%以上の量で存在せしめられており、そして
該接着物品は、流体に露出されたとき、前記流体輸送基材上の少なくとも一部において実質的な色の変化を生じる、接着物品。 - 前記流体輸送基材の前記第1の主面に透明層を含み、かつ任意に、前記流体輸送基材が多層構造体である、請求項1に記載の接着物品。
- 前記低分子量親水性ポリマー樹脂が親水性ビニルポリマー樹脂であり、かつ10,000未満の分子量を有している、請求項1に記載の接着物品。
- 前記流体輸送基材が多孔性層を含み、かつ前記多孔性層が、繊維状層、流体吸収材層、セルロース系紙及びそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の接着物品。
- 前記低分子量親水性ポリマー樹脂が不透明性向上添加剤を更に含み、かつ前記不透明性向上添加剤が二酸化チタンを含む、請求項1に記載の接着物品。
