Claims (3)
- 陽極及び陰極間に少なくとも有機薄膜が形成されてなる有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子であって、
前記有機薄膜は、単一のホスト材料層に対して互いに異なる複数種類のドーパントが膜厚方向に分布をもってドープされることにより構成されており、
前記ドーパントのうちの1種は、発光特性を付与するドーパントであり、他のドーパントは、正孔注入特性及び/又は正孔輸送特性、電子注入特性及び/又は電子輸送特性のいずれかを付与するドーパントであり、
前記電子注入特性及び/又は電子輸送特性を付与するドーパントがドープされた領域が、有機系ドーパントがドープされた有機系ドーパント領域と金属系ドーパントがドープされた金属系ドーパント領域とを膜厚方向に有し、前記発光特性を付与するドーパントがドープされた発光領域と、前記金属系ドーパント領域との間に前記有機系ドーパント領域が配置されることを特徴とする有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。 - 前記ホスト材料層の膜厚方向に、正孔注入特性及び/又は正孔輸送特性を付与するドーパントが注入された正孔ドーパント領域、発光特性を付与するドーパントがドープされた発光領域、並びに電子注入特性及び/又は電子輸送特性を付与するドーパントがドープされた電子ドーパント領域が順次形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
- 前記発光領域と、正孔ドーパント領域又は電子ドーパント領域のうち少なくとも一方とは、膜厚方向で一部重なり合うことを特徴とする請求項2記載の有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子。
