前記細長い部材の前記外面を貫通した、基端部、先端部、底部、対向した側面、開口した上部、及び通路を有する軸方向の溝と、
前記ノーズ部材の前記先端部に形成された、最大寸法を有するガイドワイヤ開口と、
前記ガイドワイヤ開口及び前記溝と連通するように前記ガイドワイヤ開口から前記溝まで延びた、前記ノーズ部材に形成された内部通路とを含む、前記ステップと、
(b)大腿骨に軸方向大腿骨トンネルを穿孔するステップと、
(c)前記大腿骨トンネルに交差するように横トンネルを前記大腿骨に穿孔するステップと、
(d)ガイドワイヤの両端部が前記横トンネルの両端部からそれぞれ延出し、前記ガイドワイヤが前記ACLインプラントの端部の下側にくるように、前記ガイドワイヤを前記横トンネル内に配置するステップと、
(e)前記ACLインプラントの前記端部を前記大腿骨トンネル内を移動させるステップと、
(f)前記ガイドワイヤが前記ガイドワイヤ開口から前記内部通路を経て前記溝の通路内に部分的に受容されるように、前記ガイドワイヤを前記クロスピンに通すステップと、
(g)前記クロスピンを前記ガイドワイヤ上を移動させて、前記クロスピンを前記ACLインプラントの前記端部の下側の前記横トンネル内に埋込むステップとを含むことを特徴とする方法。
(13)更に、前記ノーズ部材の先端側の前記ガイドワイヤに結び目を作るステップを含み、前記結び目が、前記ノーズ部材の前記ガイドワイヤ開口の最大寸法よりも大きい最大外寸を有することを特徴とする実施態様(12)に記載の方法。
(14)更に、基端部及び先端部を有する細長い部材、前記先端部に取り付けられたハンドル、及び内部を通る通路を含む挿入器具を用意するステップと、前記挿入器具の先端部が前記クロスピンの前記基端部に接触するように前記挿入器具の前記通路内に前記ガイドワイヤを通すステップを含むことを特徴とする実施態様(12)に記載の方法。

- 前記材料が非吸収性であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のクロスピン。
- 前記生体吸収性材料が、PLA、PGA、及びそれらのコポリマーからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載のクロスピン。
- 前記非吸収性材料が、外科用ステンレス鋼、ニッケルチタン合金、セラミック、デルリン(Delrin)、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、及びアセタールからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のクロスピン。
- 前記クロスピンの前記基端部が、前記溝の前記基端部と連通した開口を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のクロスピン。
- 前記ガイドワイヤ開口が前記長手方向の軸と同軸上にあることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のクロスピン。
- 前記ノーズ部材が弾丸型であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のクロスピン。
- 前記ノーズ部材が切頭円錐型であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のクロスピン。
