Description
市販のシーティングの製造に使用されている比較用ダイを使用して再帰反射性シーティングを作製した。
以下の具体的な特徴を組み込むために下流ダイリップを変化させたことを除けばウィスコンシン州チペワフォールズのエクストルージョン・ダイス・インコーポレイテッド(Extrusion Dies,Inc.,Chippewa Falls,WI)より商品名「ウルトラコート」(Ultracoat)で市販されるスロットダイ装置と実質的に同じであるスロットダイ装置を使用して、比較例1〜4に記載されるように再帰反射性シーティングを作製した:(1)リップの水平長さを0.478インチから0.884インチに変えた;(2)ポリカーボネート出口スロット付近のリップ断面を薄くすることで、リップ水平断面中にヒンジを形成し、それによってリップの下流部分を垂直面に調節できるようにした;(3)このリップのポリカーボネート接触面を、2つの平面が得られるように機械加工し、その第1の面は、工具表面からダイの分割線の外挿まで反時計回りに測定して垂直に対し89.2°の角度であり、第2の面は、工具表面からダイの分割線の外挿まで反時計回りに測定して反時計回りに垂直に対し86.8°とした;(4)ダイボルトは、ダイリップの外側または後部を押し込むように構成されており、このため、ボルトの調整によって後部リップを垂直に移動させることができたが、前部および後部ダイリップの間のポリカーボネートスロットは実質的に変化しなかった;(5)図3を参照して、寸法150が0.33インチの厚さを有し、寸法151が0.26インチの厚さを有し、寸法152が0.19インチの厚さを有し、および角度153が基準面200に対して105°となるように、リップをP−20工具鋼から作製した。
Claims (6)
- 微細構造化面を有する工具を進行させるステップと、
上流リップと下流リップとの間にスロットオリフィスを有するスロットダイ装置を使用して流動性樹脂を前記工具上に注型するステップであって、
前記流動性樹脂と接触する前記下流リップが、第1の表面部分と、前記第1の表面部分とは異なる傾きまたは曲率を有する第2の表面部分とを含み、前記第2の表面部分の傾きまたは曲率が、前記第1の表面部分に対して、独立して調整可能であり、
前記樹脂を固化させて、微細構造化面を有するシートを形成するステップと、
前記シートを前記工具から取り外すステップと、
を含む、微細構造化物品の製造方法。 - 前記工具の表面が、複数の微細構造化キューブコーナー要素を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記下流リップが、近接する表面部分が出会う位置で形成される線である1つの近接線を有する少なくとも2つの表面部分を含み、前記表面部分が、前記近接線において異なる傾きを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記スロットダイ装置の前記下流リップが前縁および後縁を含み;前記工具に対して法線方向で、前記下流リップの前記前縁と前記工具との間に第1の間隙が存在し;前記工具に対して法線方向で、前記下流リップの前記後縁と前記工具との間に第2の間隙が存在し;前記第2の間隙が前記第1の間隙に対して独立に調整可能である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記樹脂を前記リップ領域と接触させることで、進行する前記工具と前記リップの前記領域との間に前記スロット圧力の半分を超える平均圧力を生じさせる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 上流リップと下流リップとの間にスロットオリフィスを有するスロットダイ装置であって、
流動性樹脂と接触する前記下流リップが、第1の表面部分と、前記第1の表面部分とは異なる傾きまたは曲率を有する第2の表面部分とを含み、前記第2の表面部分の傾きまたは曲率が、前記第1の表面部分に対して、独立して調整可能である、
