Description
本発明の一実施形態では、スペーサ構造の形成に使用される材料は(a)イットリア(Y2O3)で安定化させたジルコニア(ZrO2)とアルミナ(Al2O3)との様々な量の混合物、(b)マグネシア(MgO)とアルミナ(Al2O3)との様々な量の混合物を含む。いくつかの構成では他の化合物を含み、かつ酸化モリブデン(MoO3)が追加される。スペーサ材料の抵抗率を調節するために、この構成にチタニア(TiO2)が追加される。それら自体で、アルミナのCTEは、8.8×10−7/摂氏度(/℃)であり、ジルコニアのCTEは、10×10−7/℃であり、マグネシアのCTEは、13.5×10−7/℃である。動作ディスプレイ内で満足に機能を果たすために十分に頑丈な物理的特性を備えたスペーサ構造を、従来の構成から製造されるスペーサのそれよりも高いCTEを備えて製造することができる。
通常、スペーサ構造は抵抗均一性、熱伝導度の改善、およびその他の有利な特性を目指してモリブデンまたはその他の耐熱性金属を組み入れる。一実施形態では、現在使用されるチタニアのレベルを変えることなく八モリブデン酸アンモニウム((NH4)4Mo8O26)、例えばAOMが加えられる。従来、モリブデンはスペーサ構造が形成される材料の構成にMoO3を組み入れることによって供給される。本実施形態では、AOMは、それを含む構成体から製造されるスペーサ構造全体にわたるモリブデンの分布を実現し、それは従来のモリブデンもしくは三酸化モリブデン源から調製されるスペーサ構造よりも少ない局所的変動を有し、一層球形で均一な形状である。これはその最大寸法(例えば高さ)にわたる電気抵抗の一層優れた均一性を有するスペーサ構造を作り出し、したがって従来の構造よりもゼロ電流シフトに煩わされることが少ないことが有益である。また、結果的に得られるスペーサ構造はさらに良好な高電圧堅牢性、向上した平坦度、およびさらに高い熱伝導性を有し、かつ処理することがさらに容易であることが有益である。一実施形態では、AOMからスペーサ構造製造用混合物を構成することは、質量で現状の8%を上回るスペーサ構造へのモリブデン取り込みの増大を実現する。これは、高電圧堅牢性のどのような減少も伴わずにスペーサ構造の熱伝導率を向上させるというさらなる利点を有し、それは形成されたディスプレイの全体的な熱的変化を下げる。
一実施形態では、他のディスプレイ部品(例えばフェースプレート)のために望ましいガラスに一致するように十分に高いCTEを備えたスペーサ構造製品は、図5に示されたプロセス500によって製造される。

- 発光構造を有するフェースプレートと、
電子放出素子を有するバックプレートと、
前記フェースプレートとバックプレート間に位置するスペーサと
を有するディスプレイ装置であって、
前記スペーサは、
マグネシアと、
アルミナと、
八モリブデン酸アンモニウムと、
チタニアとを含むことを特徴とするディスプレイ装置。 - 前記スペーサの縁部にメタライゼーション細長片を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のディスプレイ装置。
