Claims (5)
- 炉心管と、この炉心管の上端に接する上蓋とを有する熱処理炉の前記炉心管内にて塩素系ガスを含むガス雰囲気中で多孔質母材を加熱処理して、光ファイバ用母材を得る光ファイバ用母材の製造方法において、
前記熱処理炉に炉心管の上端部と前記上蓋とを覆うカバーを設けると共に、このカバー及び前記上蓋の各々に排気口を設けて、
前記カバーの排気口からカバー内のガスを吸引排気すると共に、前記上蓋の排気口から前記カバーを貫通する排気管を通して上蓋の内部空間のガスを吸引排気する
ことを特徴とする光ファイバ用母材の製造方法。 - 前記カバー内の圧力をカバー外の圧力に比べ、0.1Pa以上低くすることを特徴とする請求項1記載の光ファイバ用母材の製造方法。
- 前記カバー内の圧力をカバー外の圧力に比べ、1Pa〜30Pa低くすることを特徴とする請求項1記載の光ファイバ用母材の製造方法。
- 炉心管と、この炉心管の上端部に接する上蓋と、この炉心管及び上蓋を覆うカバーと、このカバー内と連通して設けられ、カバー内のガスを吸引排気する排気口と、前記上蓋に設けられ、上蓋の内部空間内のガスを吸引排気する排気口と、前記上蓋に設けられた排気口と接続し、前記カバーを貫通して延在する排気管とを備えることを特徴とする光ファイバ用母材の製造装置。
- 前記炉心管の外周面と前記カバーの下面側に設けられた開口との間の間隙にシール材を備えることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の光ファイバ用母材の製造装置。
