Claims (4)
- 光レセプタクルと、前記光レセプタクルに固定された筐体とを備えた光モジュールにおいて、
前記光レセプタクルは、
光ファイバを有する外部コネクタプラグと嵌合するレセプタクル本体と、
前記光ファイバと接続され、前記光ファイバを伝搬する光を透過させる光透過部材と、
前記レセプタクル本体内に配置され、前記光透過部材を保持する保持部材とを備え、
前記光透過部材は、実質的に均一な屈折率分布を有する材料で形成されており、
前記保持部材は、前記外部コネクタプラグと嵌合する側に形成され、前記光透過部材が収容された第1内孔部と、前記第1内孔部に連続して前記外部コネクタプラグと嵌合する側の反対側に向けて形成され、前記第1内孔部よりも径の大きい第2内孔部とを有し、
前記保持部材における前記外部コネクタプラグと嵌合する側の端面において、前記第1内孔部の径が前記光ファイバの外径と同等であり、
前記筐体は、前記光レセプタクルに対して前記外部コネクタプラグと嵌合する側の反対側に配置され、
前記筐体内には、前記光透過部材に向けて光を照射する発光素子と、前記発光素子からの光を集光させる集光レンズとが設けられ、
前記集光レンズにより集光された光が前記保持部材における前記外部コネクタプラグと嵌合する側の端面で結像するように構成されていることを特徴とする光モジュール。 - 前記保持部材は、ジルコニアまたは金属で形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の光モジュール。
- 前記光透過部材における前記光ファイバと接続される側の反対側の端面は、前記レセプタクル本体の径方向に対して所定角度で傾斜するように研磨加工されていることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の光モジュール。
- 前記レセプタクル本体は、外スリーブと、前記外スリーブ内に配置され、一端側に前記保持部材の一部が挿入されるとともに他端側に前記外部コネクタプラグが嵌入される内スリーブと、前記外スリーブと前記保持部材との間に介在され、前記保持部材を前記外スリーブに固定するブッシュとを有することを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項記載の光モジュール。
