Description
また、複数のインフレータと袋体とを連結する複数の管体が互いに交差するように配設されているため、管体の角度を緩やかにできて、管体に内圧が余計にかかることがない上、管体の内部を流体がスムースに流れる。また、管体の角度が緩やかになり、管体と袋体との接合部を直線状にできる。さらに、この接合部は機械でクランプされることになるが、その際に機械が入る(作業をする)ためのスペースを十分に取ることができる。また、曲がりが緩やかなため作り勝手も良い。
図1は本実施形態の乗員保護装置であるカーテンエアバッグ装置11が適用された車両の車体12の右側部を車室内側から見た部分側面図である。なお、図示は略すが車体12の左側部にも同様のカーテンエアバッグ装置11が設けられている。
図1,図2に示すように、リアクォータピラー(ピラー部)18にインフレータ37,38を設けてその前後の前部袋体26および後部袋体27が、リアクォータピラー18の前後のフロントサイドウインドウ31およびリアサイドウインドウ33と、リアクォータウインドウ34とを覆うので、前部袋体26および後部袋体27間にあるピラーガーニッシュ69上を前部袋体26および後部袋体27が乗り越す必要がなくなり、ピラーガーニッシュ69への引っかかりなどもなく、展開が良好に行える。つまり、前部袋体26および後部袋体27がピラーガーニッシュ69上を覆うことがないため、展開が良好に行える。

Claims (2)
- 複数列の座席を備えた車両の車両側部において前後方向に並設された複数の窓に対応して設けられ、前記窓の車室内側にカーテン状に膨張展開される前部袋体および後部袋体を備えた乗員保護装置であって、
前記前部袋体を駆動する前部袋体駆動用インフレータおよび前記後部袋体を駆動する後部袋体駆動用インフレータを備えるとともに、前記後部袋体駆動用インフレータを前記前部袋体駆動用インフレータよりも車両前方側に配置することにより、前記前部袋体駆動用インフレータと前記前部袋体とを連結する管体と、前記後部袋体駆動用インフレータと前記後部袋体とを連結する管体とを交差させた状態で、前記前部袋体駆動用インフレータおよび前記後部袋体駆動用インフレータを同一内装材内にまとめて配設してなることを特徴とする乗員保護装置。 - 前記前部袋体駆動用インフレータおよび前記後部袋体駆動用インフレータは共通のブラケットにより一体的に車体に取り付けられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の乗員保護装置。
