Claims (5)
- 円盤状磁気記録媒体上での磁気ヘッドの移動を制御するヘッド制御方法であって、
前記円盤状磁気記録媒体は、半径方向に等間隔に実トラック番号を含む位置情報が記録されるとともに、前記等間隔で記録された位置情報に基づく複数のトラックと、前記複数のトラックの内、所定数の前記トラックを含む同心円状の複数のゾーンとが、設定され、
前記ゾーン毎に、前記ゾーン内で設定した見かけのトラックのピッチで、前記ゾーン内の前記位置情報によるトラックのピッチを割り算して得た係数を設定し、
上位からの与えられた見かけのトラック番号を、前記見かけのトラック番号の前記ゾーンの係数により、前記位置情報に基づく実トラック番号に変換し、
前記磁気ヘッドが読み取った前記位置情報により、前記変換された位置情報に基づく実トラック番号に対応する位置に、前記磁気ヘッドを移動する
ことを特徴とするヘッド制御方法。 - 請求項1において、
前記円盤状磁気記録媒体の最インナー又は最アウターから、前記見かけのトラック番号の位置するゾーンの間に介在する各ゾーンの見かけのトラック数と前記各ゾーンの前記係数とから得た前記介在する各ゾーンの実トラック数と、前記見かけのトラック番号の前記ゾーンの係数とにより、前記見かけのトラック番号を前記実トラック番号に変換する
ことを特徴とするヘッド制御方法。 - 円盤状磁気記録媒体と、
前記円盤状磁気記録媒体に情報を書き込みあるいは書き込まれた情報を読み出すための磁気ヘッドと、
前記磁気ヘッドを前記円盤状磁気記録媒体上で移動させるヘッド駆動部と、
前記磁気ヘッドの位置を制御する制御部と、
制御に必要な情報を格納する記憶部とを有し、
前記円盤状磁気記録媒体は、半径方向に等間隔に実トラック番号を含む位置情報が記録されるとともに、前記等間隔で記録された位置情報に基づく複数のトラックと、前記複数のトラックの内、所定数の前記トラックを含む同心円状の複数のゾーンとが、設定され、
前記記憶部には、前記ゾーン毎に、前記ゾーン内で設定した見かけのトラックのピッチで、前記ゾーン内の前記位置情報によるトラックのピッチを割り算して得た係数が予め格納され、
前記制御部は、上位からの与えられた見かけのトラック番号を、前記見かけのトラック番号の前記ゾーンの係数により、前記位置情報に基づく実トラック番号に変換し、前記磁気ヘッドが読み取った前記位置情報により、前記変換された位置情報に基づく実トラック番号に対応する位置に、前記磁気ヘッドを移動する
ことを特徴とする記録装置。 - 請求項3において、
前記制御部は、前記円盤状磁気記録媒体の最インナー又は最アウターから、前記見かけのトラック番号の位置するゾーンの間に介在する各ゾーンの見かけのトラック数と前記各ゾーンの前記係数とから得た前記介在する各ゾーンの実トラック数と、前記見かけのトラック番号の前記ゾーンの係数とにより、前記見かけのトラック番号を前記実トラック番号に変換する
ことを特徴とする記録装置。 - 請求項3あるいは4のいずれかにおいて、
前記磁気ヘッドは、前記円盤状磁気記録媒体の各面に各々対応する複数の磁気ヘッドからなり、
前記記憶部は、前記係数を、前記複数の磁気ヘッド毎に格納する
ことを特徴とする記録装置。
