Description
図1は本発明にかかわる面状光源装置10を備えた表示装置の一実施形態の概略構成を示す斜視図、図2は図1に示す面状光源装置のA−A方向における部分断面図である。図1および図2において、3は開口部3aを有する筐体である。筐体3の開口部3aには、入射した光を拡散する拡散板4が配置されている。1は線状光源であり、筐体3内部の一方の側面3cに配置されている。2は線状光源1からの入射光を拡散板4に向けて反射する反射板で、入射光を乱反射する拡散反射板2aと、入射光を正反射する正反射板2bにより構成され、筐体3の開口部3aと対向する底面3bに配置されている。また、正反射板2bは線状光源1近傍に、拡散反射板2aは線状光源1から離れた位置に配置されている。5は線状光源1の近傍に設けられたリフレクタであり、線状光源1からの出射光のうち、筐体3の内壁に向かう光を反射板2または拡散板4に向けて反射する。
図5は、本発明による面状光源装置の他の実施形態を示す図である。実施の形態1ではCCFL等の線状光源1、または複数の点光源1cを筐体3の内部の片側に配置したが、図5に示すように、二つの線状光源1a、1bを筐体3内部の両側面に対向して配置してもよい。この場合、反射板25は、正反射板2b1、2b2、および拡散反射板2aにより構成され、正反射板2b1、2b2は各々の線状光源1a、1bの近傍に配置され、拡散反射板2aは二つの線状光源1a、1bから離れた中央部に配置される。その他の構成は実施の形態1と同様である。
図10は、本発明による面状光源装置の他の実施形態を示す図である。実施の形態1、2においては、光源を筐体3内部の側面に配置したが、図10に示すように筐体3の底面3bに複数の線状光源1を配置してもよい。本実施の形態3による面状光源装置においては、複数の拡散反射板2a、および正反射板2bが交互に隣接して配置される。また、正反射板2b上には所定の間隔を隔てて線状光源1が配置される。その他の構成は実施の形態1と同様である。
実施の形態1から3に示したように、拡散反射板と正反射板を一直線状に切り替えると、境界部で輝度の分布が急激に変化し、照明光のムラが生じやすい。この反射特性の違いによる照明光のムラを目立たなくする方法として、拡散反射板と正反射板との間に拡散反射率(拡散反射される光の正反射される光に対する割合)を段階的に変化させる反射特性調整部を設けてもよい。

Claims (7)
- 開口部を有する筐体と、
前記開口部に配設され、入射した光を拡散する拡散板と、
前記筐体の少なくとも一方の側面に配置された光源と、
前記拡散板と対向する前記筐体底面に前記光源からの入射光を正反射する正反射部と、該入射光を乱反射する拡散反射部とを備え、
前記正反射部を前記光源の近傍に配置し、
前記拡散反射部を前記光源から離れた位置で、前記正反射部と隣接して配置し、
前記正反射部と前記拡散反射部との間の境界部を波形とする、前記正反射部と前記拡散反射部との間に前記拡散反射部より低い拡散反射率を有する反射部を設ける、または前記正反射部と前記拡散反射部との間に前記正反射部に向かうにしたがって拡散反射率を段階的に減少させる反射特性調整部を設ける、のいずれかで構成される
ことを特徴とする面状光源装置。 - 前記光源は、前記筐体内の両側面に互いに対向して配置され、前記光源のそれぞれの近傍に前記正反射部をそれぞれ設け、前記筐体底面の中央部に前記正反射部と隣接して前記拡散反射部とを設けたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の面状光源装置。
- 前記光源の光が出射する位置に、前記光源から出射した光を前記正反射部および前記拡散反射部に向けて屈折する偏角素子を配置したことを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の面状光源装置。
- 開口部を有する筐体と、
前記開口部に配設され、入射した光を拡散する拡散板と、
前記筐体の少なくとも一方の側面に配置された光源と、
前記拡散板と対向する前記筐体底面に前記光源からの入射光を正反射する正反射部と、該入射光を乱反射する拡散反射部とを備え、
前記正反射部は前記光源の近傍に配置されており、
前記正反射部および前記拡散反射部を、入射光を乱反射する拡散反射板および入射光を正反射する正反射板によりそれぞれ構成し、
前記拡散反射板および前記正反射板を、両者が互いに重なり合う重なり部を設けて配置するとともに、前記拡散反射板を前記正反射板の上に配置した場合は、前記拡散反射板の前記重なり部に、前記正反射板との境界に向かうにしたがい直径が増加する穴を設け、
前記正反射板を前記拡散反射板の上に配置した場合は、前記正反射板の前記重なり部に、前記拡散反射板との境界に向かうにしたがい直径が減少する穴を設けることを特徴とする面状光源装置。 - 前記筐体底面に設けた正反射部および前記拡散反射部を、前記筐体底面のほぼ全域に備えた正反射板と前記正反射板の前記開口部側の一部に密接配置した拡散シートとによりそれぞれ構成することを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の面状光源装置。
- 前記拡散反射部に傾斜面を形成したことを特徴とする請求項1または3記載の面状光源装置。
- 請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の面状光源装置と、前記面状光源装置からの光を変調する表示素子とを備えたことを特徴とする表示装置。
