Ln=L1−Lh−Lp+5mm

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is provided integrally or separately in an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a printer, or a printing machine, and includes binding, punching, aligning, folding, or the like on an image-formed sheet (recording medium). The present invention relates to a sheet processing apparatus having a function of cutting after performing a predetermined process such as a bookbinding process, and an image forming system including the sheet processing apparatus and the image forming apparatus.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Post-processing devices such as copying machines and printers, which are arranged downstream of image output devices and output to output recording paper, are widely known. In addition, it has been devised that saddle stitching is also possible. However, many of them are limited in function because the machine is large or complex. For example, as disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 07-48062 and Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-153947, there is a device in which the path is switched at the apparatus entrance and the end face binding function and the saddle stitching function are completely independent. These have advantages such as easy unitization and easy response to less options. However, it is disadvantageous in cost because it has similar functions.
[0003]
In addition, the sheet is aligned and bound at the time of saddle stitching, and the folding is performed on the spot. Therefore, the saddle stitching unit cannot accept the sheet of the next job until the previous job is completely folded. Therefore, it can be said that it is a disadvantageous configuration in terms of productivity. In addition, in order to eliminate the above-described problems, alignment processing and binding processing at the time of end face binding and saddle stitching are performed in a processing tray whose downstream side is highly inclined, and after the binding processing, to another station disposed below the processing tray. There have been proposed ones that perform switchback conveyance (conveyance in the direction opposite to the end face binding discharge) and folding processing (Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open Nos. 2000-118861 and 7-187479). Certainly, these increase the productivity by positioning the folding mechanism separately, and minimize the cost increase due to overlapping mechanisms. However, in order to achieve an improvement in productivity, it is necessary to arrange the folding processing portion long enough, and the binding processing tray is arranged above, so that the two trays become a continuous dogleg shape and the machine becomes large. On the other hand, in order to suppress an increase in the size of the machine, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-63031 proposes to perform a folding process in such a manner that a sheet bundle is straddled across a binding processing tray. However, productivity cannot be improved with this format.
[0004]
JP-A-11-286368 and JP-A-2000-86067 disclose a folding roller slightly above the middle part of the binding processing tray in order to make the processing tray common or shorten the conveyance path. A device that is arranged, directly folded and discharged outside the machine has also been proposed. In these cases, as described above, improvement in productivity cannot be expected, and since the folding roller is disposed above the processing tray whose downstream side is highly inclined, the machine is actually considerably large. In addition, since the discharge outlet after the folding process is at a relatively high position, there is a disadvantage that the load amount of the one subjected to the normal end face binding process is reduced.
[0005]
Against this background, with the aim of providing even higher added value, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-198613, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-103567, and the like have been proposed in which a small cutting function is added.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
For example, a cutting device proposed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-103567 is a so-called guillotine-type lifting / lowering type. In general, the guillotine type device is large in size and requires a high-power drive source in many cases. Therefore, it is conceivable to use a shuttle type cutter, which is widely known as a means for cutting a roll paper of a fax or plotter, for bundle cutting. Since cutting in the case of the guillotine type is performed on the entire width in a relatively short time, the waste is deposited almost at the same position as the cut material. In general, the paper is transported based on the center of the paper regardless of the size, so that debris is also accumulated around the center. Since the waste storage box has a sufficient width with respect to the paper width, the accumulated waste will eventually collapse, and the storage amount can be secured.
[0016]
On the other hand, in the case of the shuttle type, since cutting is performed from one direction over time, the scraps hang down from the cut material until the end of cutting, and after cutting, the scrap is accumulated around the vicinity of the cutting end. In this case, the accumulation position is shifted from the center of the waste storage box, so that one side of the accumulated waste is leaning against the wall of the storage box, and natural storage cannot be expected and the storage amount is reduced. (See FIG. 12 described later). In order to cope with this, it is possible to solve the problem by increasing the absolute volume of the waste storage box, or by sufficiently increasing the width direction of the storage box relative to the width of the cut material. It becomes large and there is no point in using a shuttle type cutter.
[0017]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a paper processing apparatus using a shuttle type cutter that can secure a waste storage amount without increasing the capacity of a hopper more than necessary.
[0018]
