Ln=L1−Lh−Lp+5mm

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is provided integrally or separately in an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a printer, or a printing machine, and includes binding, punching, aligning, folding, or the like on an image-formed sheet (recording medium). The present invention relates to a sheet processing apparatus having a function of cutting after performing a predetermined process such as a bookbinding process, and an image forming system including the sheet processing apparatus and the image forming apparatus.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Post-processing devices such as copying machines and printers, which are arranged downstream of image output devices and output to output recording paper, are widely known. In addition, it has been devised that saddle stitching is also possible. However, many of them are limited in function due to the machine becoming larger or complex. For example, as seen in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 07-48062 and Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-153947, there is a device in which the path is switched at the apparatus entrance and the end face binding function and the saddle stitching function are completely independent. These have advantages such as easy unitization and easy response to less options. However, it is disadvantageous in cost because it has similar functions.
[0003]
In addition, the sheet is aligned and bound at the time of saddle stitching, and the folding is performed on the spot. Therefore, the saddle stitching unit cannot accept the sheet of the next job until the previous job is completely folded. Therefore, it can be said that it is a disadvantageous configuration in terms of productivity. In addition, in order to eliminate the above-described problems, alignment processing and binding processing at the time of end face binding and saddle stitching are performed in a processing tray whose downstream side is highly inclined, and after the binding processing, to another station disposed below the processing tray. Proposals have been made to perform switchback conveyance (conveyance in the direction opposite to the end face binding discharge) and folding processing (Japanese Patent Laid-Open Nos. 2000-118861 and 7-187479). Certainly, these increase the productivity by positioning the folding mechanism separately, and minimize the cost increase due to overlapping mechanisms. However, in order to achieve an improvement in productivity, it is necessary to arrange the folding processing portion long enough, and the binding processing tray is arranged above, so that the two trays become a continuous dogleg shape and the machine becomes large. On the other hand, in order to suppress an increase in the size of the machine, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-63031 proposes to perform a folding process in such a manner that a sheet bundle is straddled across a binding processing tray. However, productivity cannot be improved with this format.
[0004]
Further, in Japanese Patent Laid-Open Nos. 11-286368 and 2000-86067, a folding roller is disposed slightly above the middle portion of the binding processing tray in order to share the processing tray or shorten the conveyance path. However, it has also been proposed to directly fold and discharge to the outside of the machine. In these cases, as described above, improvement in productivity cannot be expected, and since the folding roller is disposed above the processing tray whose downstream side is highly inclined, the machine is actually considerably large. In addition, since the discharge outlet after the folding process is at a relatively high position, there is a disadvantage that the load amount of the one subjected to the normal end face binding process is reduced.
[0005]
Against this background, with the aim of providing higher added value, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open Nos. 2000-198613 and 2000-103567 have been proposed in which a small cutting function is added.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, for example, a cutting device proposed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-103567 is a so-called guillotine-type lifting / lowering type. In general, the guillotine type device is large in size and requires a high-power drive source in many cases. Therefore, the effective height of the portion for feeding the paper to the cutting section is sufficient, and it is not necessary to provide a means for ensuring the paper conveyance. However, when the sheet is directly conveyed from the roller immediately before the cutter unit to the cutter unit, there is a problem in the conveyance quality, and the problem regarding the conveyance quality becomes larger as the apparatus becomes smaller in the future.
[0012]
Therefore, in the invention described in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2000-198613, a rotating guide plate is disposed immediately before the cutting portion, and the guide plate is configured to be retractable as the elevating blade is raised and lowered. However, when a shuttle type cutter is used, it is difficult to apply this configuration because the shuttle moving direction and the guide plate retracting direction are at right angles. Further, in the case of the guillotine type, there is an effect of dropping the cutting waste downward by the lifting and lowering itself, but in the case of the shuttle type, the effect is small, and it is necessary to sufficiently secure the opening of the waste conveyance unit. In the case of the shuttle type, the opening is maximized near the bottom dead center of the moving blade and is slightly closed before and after that. If it does, the opening part of a waste conveyance part will also be closed, and possibility that waste will remain is high.
[0013]
The present invention has been made in view of the actual situation of the prior art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a sheet processing apparatus capable of reliably performing sheet guide and sheet cutting.
[0014]
Another object of the present invention is to provide a paper processing apparatus that uses a rotationally moving blade type so-called shuttle cutter type cutting apparatus and can reduce the size of the entire apparatus and the size of a drive source.
[0015]
Another object of the present invention is to provide a sheet processing apparatus that can perform reliable conveyance.
[0016]
In addition, other purposes than guillotineTheapparatusofAn object of the present invention is to provide a paper processing apparatus that can reduce the effective height of a cutting section.
[0017]
Another object of the present invention is to provide a paper processing apparatus that can prevent cutting mistakes due to scrap residue, conveyance JAM, and the like.
[0018]
Another object of the present invention is to provide a paper processing apparatus that can efficiently perform a cutting process.

Still another object is to provide an image forming system capable of achieving each of these objects.
[0020]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the object, the first means includes a cutting means for cutting the paper in a direction orthogonal to the paper transport direction in a paper processing apparatus that performs a predetermined process on the carried paper, and the cutting means. Provided on the upstream side in the paper conveyance direction, and guide means for guiding the conveyance of the paper, and moving means for moving the guide means in a direction parallel to the paper conveyance direction. The fixed guide member is fixed to the movable guide member, and the fixed guide member is provided upstream of the movable guide member in the sheet conveying direction. Opposite ends are formed in a comb-like shape and intersect on the same planeIt is characterized by that.
[0023]
First2Means1In this means, the cutting means rotates linearly with a fixed blade arranged in a direction perpendicular to the paper conveyance direction and the fixed blade, and cuts the paper between the fixed blade in the process of horizontal movement. The round blade is supported by a fixed member provided across the paper transport path in a direction orthogonal to the paper transport direction, and the moving means is a contact between the fixed blade and the round blade during paper transport. The movable guide member is advanced to the downstream side in the paper conveyance direction from the contact portion, and is retracted from the fixed member to the upstream side in the paper conveyance direction when the paper is cut.
[0024]
First3Means1The second2In the means, the movable guide plate is formed smaller in the moving region of the round blade than the dimension in the direction perpendicular to the sheet conveying direction of the minimum size sheet to be cut.
[0025]
First4Means2In this means, the moving means starts the retracting operation of the movable guide member before the leading end of the sheet or sheet bundle reaches the fixed blade and stops the sheet bundle at the cutting position.
[0026]
First5Means2The control means further includes a control means for moving the round blade to cut the sheet or the sheet bundle, and the control means is configured to move the round blade before the movable guide plate completes moving to the retracted position. The movement from the home position to the vicinity of the sheet bundle side end is started.
[0027]
First6Means2The control means further includes a control means for moving the round blade to cut the sheet or the sheet bundle, and the control means is configured to move the round blade before the movable guide plate completes moving to the retracted position. The movement from the home position to the vicinity of the sheet bundle side end is completed.
[0028]
First7Means ofThird,First5And the second6In the above-mentioned means, there is provided a detecting means for detecting that the movable guide plate has moved to the retracted position where the backward movement operation has been completed.
[0029]
First8Means of the first to the first7The image forming system includes a sheet processing apparatus according to the above-described means and an image forming apparatus having an image forming unit that forms a visible image on a sheet based on input image data.
[0030]
In the first means, the guide means can be moved by the moving means in relation to the operation with the cutting means, and interference between the cutting means and the guide means can be prevented. Further, since the guide means is moved in a direction parallel to the sheet conveying direction, the movement stroke of the guide means is minimized, and a retreat location when retracted can be secured in a small space.
The guide means is composed of two members, a fixed guide member and a movable guide member. The fixed guide member is provided on the upstream side of the movable guide member in the sheet conveying direction, and the cutting means and the guide are simply moved by moving the downstream movable guide plate. Interference with the means can be prevented.
In addition, since the fixed guide plate and the movable guide plate can be crossed in the same plane without overlapping, the paper bundle can be reliably secured by the guide means while minimizing the mechanical dimension in the thickness direction of the paper bundle. I can guide you.
[0033]
First2With this means, when the movable member guides the paper or the paper bundle, the movable member advances from the contact portion (cutting portion) between the fixed blade and the round blade to the downstream side in the paper transport direction, so that the blade edge of the fixed blade and the paper bundle are in contact with each other. Prevents interference and retracts to a position where it does not interfere with the round blade on the upstream side of the paper transport direction with respect to the fixed member deviated from the movement path of the round blade during cutting. There is no risk of jamming or malfunction.
[0034]
First3In this means, the dimension of the movable guide plate in the direction orthogonal to the paper conveyance direction is set to a minimum size, so that the round blade can be moved to the vicinity of the movable guide plate before cutting the paper.
[0035]
First4With this means, the retracting operation of the movable member is started before the sheet bundle is stopped at the cutting position, so that it is possible to perform the sheet cutting operation with less waiting time.
[0036]
First5In this means, before the movable guide plate is moved to the retracted position, the control means starts moving the round blade from the home position to the vicinity of the sheet bundle side end, so that the movable guide plate is retracted. At this point, the sheet or sheet bundle can be cut immediately.
[0037]
First6In this means, before the movable guide plate is moved to the retracted position, the control means completes the movement of the round blade to the vicinity of the sheet bundle side end, so when the movable guide plate is retracted. The sheet or sheet bundle can be cut immediately.
[0038]
First7With this means, it is possible to reliably detect that the guide plate has been retracted by the detecting means, and it is possible to minimize the possibility of malfunction.
[0039]
This first8In the means, the first to the first7It is possible to provide an image forming system that exhibits the functions and effects of the above means.

In the following embodiments, the fixed blade is fixed to the fixed

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention,
(1) The paper guide and the paper can be surely cut.
[0134]
(2) The apparatus can be reduced in size as compared with the case of using a conventional guillotine type cutter.
[0135]
(3) When the sheet bundle is conveyed, the retracting guide plate is advanced to secure the conveyance path, so that the sheet bundle can be reliably guided.
[0136]
(4) In the case of the guillotine type, the vertical stroke of the moving blade is required and a vertical space is required. However, in the present invention, only the height of the slide unit is required, so the effective height of the cutting part is lowered. And an excellent space factor can be secured.
[0137]
(5) Set the size of the retraction guide plate in the direction orthogonal to the paper conveyance direction to a size smaller than the minimum paper size to be processed, and set the movement start timing of the retraction guide plate and the movement start timing of the round blade. By setting the timing corresponding to the size of the retract guide plate in the direction, the cutting process can be performed efficiently.
[0138]
(6) The retraction guide plate can be moved to the transfer position only for the minimum necessary time, and in most cases it is possible to send waste to the hopper, and the retraction guide plate overlaps the fixed blade. Therefore, it is possible to prevent cutting mistakes due to scrap residue, transport JAM, and the like.
