しかしながら、以上の技術によれば、次のような欠点があった。
(A)菊全サイズなどの印刷物の大面積を1枚単位で、短時間のうちに均一に乾燥させる装置はなかった。
(B)ドライダウンの影響を確認するために、ヘアードライヤー等を使って、部分的に乾燥させるには、作業者が付きっきりで操作しなければならなかった。
(C)水性コーティング液用の平型の乾燥装置をオフセット印刷の印刷物に使用すると、乾燥が悪く、ドライダウンを確認するには不十分であった。
