Description
図1は、本発明の第1実施形態に係る改質器の状態判定装置を含む内燃機関が備えられた車両を示す概略構成図である。同図に示される車両Cは、走行用駆動源として、トランスアクスルTを介して駆動輪Wを駆動する内燃機関1を有する。内燃機関1は、エンジンブロック2に形成された燃焼室3の内部で改質ガス成分を含む混合気を燃焼させ、燃焼室3内でピストン4を往復移動させることにより動力を発生するものである。なお、図1には1気筒のみが示されるが、本実施形態の内燃機関1は、多気筒エンジン(例えば、4気筒エンジン)として構成される。

そして、上記(1)式の反応が進行することにより、改質ガス成分であるCOおよびH2を含む改質ガス(改質燃料)が生成され、得られた改質ガスは、改質器20から接続管L3を介してサージタンク8内に導入される。
以下、図6および図7を参照しながら、参考例としての第2実施形態について説明する。なお、上述の第1実施形態に関連して説明されたものと同一の要素には同一の参照符号が付され、重複する説明は省略される。

Claims (3)
- 燃料と空気との混合気を改質して内燃機関に供給するための改質燃料を生成する改質器の状態判定装置であって、
前記内燃機関の作動状態を検出する機関作動状態検出手段と、
前記機関作動状態検出手段によって検出された前記内燃機関の作動状態に基づいて前記改質器が正常に作動しているか否かを判定する判定手段とを備え、
前記作動状態は、前記内燃機関の回転数変動であり、
前記判定手段は、前記内燃機関のアイドル運転時に、前記内燃機関における混合気をリーン化した場合及び点火時期を遅角させた場合の少なくとも一方の場合の前記回転数変動に基づいて、前記改質器が正常に作動しているか否かを判定することを特徴とする改質器の状態判定装置。 - 前記内燃機関に対して改質燃料と共に非改質燃料が供給される場合、改質燃料と非改質燃料との比に応じて、前記改質器が正常に作動しているか否かを判定するための基準が変化させられることを特徴とする請求項1記載の改質器の状態判定装置。
- 燃料と空気との混合気を改質して内燃機関に供給するための改質燃料を生成する改質器の状態判定方法であって、
前記内燃機関のアイドル運転時に、前記内燃機関における混合気をリーン化した場合及び点火時期を遅角させた場合の少なくとも一方の場合の前記内燃機関の回転数変動を検出し、検出した前記回転数変動に基づいて前記改質器が正常に作動しているか否かを判定することを特徴とする改質器の状態判定方法。
