BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a terminal press-fitting jig for press-fitting a terminal of a press-fit connector into a printed circuit board, for example, and a press-fitting device thereof.
[0002]
[Prior art]
FIG. 7 is a side view showing an example of a conventional press-fit connector before the terminals are press-fitted into the substrate, and FIG. 8 is a perspective view showing an example of a process of inserting each terminal of the conventional press-fit connector into the connector jig. (A) shows the state at the time of insertion, and (b) shows the state after the end of insertion. FIG. 9 is a partially enlarged view seen from the B direction in FIG.
[0003]
Conventionally, a so-called press-fit connector (PFC) has been widely used as a connector that allows simple connection that does not require soldering by simply press-fitting a terminal into a substrate. As a method for press-fitting this terminal, for example, as shown in FIG. 7, a plurality of

The present invention solves such problems of the prior art, and increases the contact area between the pressing surface of the jig body and the terminal flange, thereby improving the reliability of the terminal of the connector. An object is to provide a jig and a press-fitting device.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the first aspect of the present invention, a plurality of flanged terminals extending from the connector housing are supported by a jig body having at least a contact surface capable of contacting the flange of each terminal and a surface orthogonal to the contact surface. In this state, a terminal press-fitting jig for press-fitting into each through-hole of the substrate, wherein each terminal is connected to the abutting surface while the flange of each terminal is floated from the abutting surface. A guide portion that guides inwardly from the orthogonal surface, and a guide portion that guides each terminal that has been guided inward by the guide portion in a direction in which the flange portion of each terminal further abuts the contact surface. It is formed on the jig body.
[0010]
According to the above-described configuration, a plurality of hooked terminals extending from the housing of the connector, a lead-in portion that draws inward from a surface orthogonal to the contact surface, with the flange portion of each terminal floating from the contact surface, Since the jig body is formed with a guide portion for guiding each terminal that has been drawn inward by the lead-in portion in a direction in which the flange portion of each terminal comes into contact with the contact surface, the jig body The contact area between the contact surface of the main body and the flange of the terminal is increased. For this reason, the support of the terminal becomes strong, and the deformation of the terminal flange portion hardly occurs due to the pressurizing force in the substrate press-fitting process, and as a result, the press-fit reliability is improved.

If the guiding portion has an inclined surface that is expanded from the inside toward the surface orthogonal to the contact surface, for example, the opening angle of the taper as the inclined surface is set. Since the size can be increased, the possibility of interference between the terminal and the jig body is reduced, and the terminal is less likely to be deformed when the jig is set. For this reason, the alignment of the terminals is less likely to be disturbed, and when the board is set, the terminals easily enter the through holes of the board.
[0012]
If the guiding portion is made of a synthetic resin material as in the third aspect of the invention, for example, a taper as an inclined surface is coated with a resin, or a separate component from the jig body is synthesized. By comprising resin parts, the possibility of cutting terminals with this jig body is reduced.
[0013]
As described in claim 4, the jig body has a groove or a protrusion for guiding the housing together with each terminal, while the housing has a protrusion or a groove engageable with the groove or the protrusion. Then, when the connector is set on the jig, they serve as a guide, so that the terminals and the jig body are less likely to interfere with each other.
[0014]
As in the invention described in claim 5, the substrate on which the substrate jig is brought into contact from the back is opposed to each terminal supported by the terminal press-fitting jig according to any one of claims 1 to 4. In this state, it is assumed that each terminal is pressed into the substrate by pressing at least one of the substrate jig and the press-fitting jig. A press-fitting device capable of increasing the contact area with the part and performing good press-fitting is obtained.
