BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method for winding a metal film, and particularly to a method for winding a film-like metal foil in a secondary battery electrode manufacturing process.
[0002]
[Prior art]
There are roughly two types of batteries: primary batteries and secondary batteries. Once a primary battery is discharged, it will end the life of the battery. However, a secondary battery can be discharged repeatedly by being charged again after discharging. . Secondary batteries include lead batteries, nickel cadmium batteries, nickel metal hydride batteries, and lithium ion batteries. Among these, the lithium ion battery has a high capacity density per volume, the voltage is about three times as high as that of the nickel cadmium battery, and the lithium in the battery exists in an ionic state, so the safety is extremely high. Therefore, it is widely used as a power source for portable electronic devices and the like, and the demand is rapidly increasing with the rapid expansion of applications.

FIG. 4 is a partially cutaway sectional perspective view of the lithium ion battery, and shows the internal structure of the

[0005]
The process of applying these negative electrode paints 22 and 22 to the copper foil 21 to manufacture the negative electrode is performed in the order of the application process and the drying process in the coater 110 of the
[0006]
In the coater 110, a film-shaped metal foil raw material wound in a wide roll shape is sent out from an unwinding roll (not shown) and taken up via a coating process, a drying process, and a cooling process (see FIG. (Not shown), and a wound metal foil (not shown) is obtained.
[0007]
The winding speed is generally 15 to 100 m / min, and the tension is controlled to about 30 kg / 600 mm width. The wound metal foil coated with the electrode material is then transferred to a cutting step, and is cut into a predetermined width dimension of the cell 1 (FIG. 4) serving as a battery.
[0008]
As shown in FIG. 8, the traveling system 111 of the coater 110 includes a traveling system 111 that includes an unwinding roll 112 and a plurality of guide rolls 113, 113,... It has been.
[0009]
Conventionally, as a method of passing the copper foil 21 through the traveling system 111 of the coater 110, first, a thin polyester film base 121 is passed through the traveling system 111 as a winding lead, A method of connecting the polyester film base 121 and the copper foil 21 has been used.
[0010]
That is, in the conventional method, as shown in FIGS. 8 and 9 (plan view) and FIG. 10 (side view), the polyester film base 121 and the copper foil 21 are connected as a method of connecting the polyester film base 121 and the copper foil 21. Are overlapped at both ends, and first adhered in the width direction with a polyester adhesive tape 125, and then connected at several places in the longitudinal direction (three places in the figure) with polyester adhesive tapes 126, 126, 126.
[0011]
The purpose was to prevent the copper foil 21 from being cut. According to this method, the wrinkles of the polyester film base 121 can be taken well, but if the copper foil 21 is passed through the running system 111 of the coater 110 from the beginning, the copper foil 21 at the winding lead portion cannot be used for the product and is lost. However, if the polyester film base 121 is first passed and used as a winding lead, the copper foil 21 can be used almost entirely in the product except for the connection portion, and the winding lead is passed through the traveling system 111. The thinner polyester film base 121 is much easier.
[0012]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, according to the method of first passing the thin polyester film base 121 through the traveling system 111 and connecting the polyester film base 121 and the copper foil 21 in the unwinding roll 112, the wrinkles of the polyester film base 121 can be taken well. When the copper foil 21 passed through the coating process of the coater 110 and traveled to the drying process, the copper foil 21 was likely to wrinkle, and the copper foil 21 was often cut in the pinch roll after the drying process. In many cases, the thickness of the copper foil 21 of the film-shaped metal foil raw material used is 10 μm and 15 μm, and in particular, a thickness of 10 μm is often cut in the drying process.
[0013]
The subject of this invention is preventing the cutting | disconnection of the metal films of winding object, such as copper foil, in the pinch roll after a drying process, and providing the supply method in which this metal film is not continuous.
[0014]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The above-described problem of the present invention is solved by the following configuration.
As described above, in the present invention, a metal film to be wound up such as copper foil is connected to a joint film between a relatively thin plastic film base such as polyester and a metal film to be wound up such as copper foil. It is often cut from the wrinkles that occur. Focusing on removing the wrinkles that occur at the connection seams between the plastic film base such as thin polyester and the film to be rolled up such as copper foil, As a result of the examination, a method of inserting a second relatively thick plastic film base such as polyester between a relatively thin plastic film base such as polyester and a film to be rolled up such as copper foil As a result, the above-mentioned problems could be solved.
[0015]
That is, the present invention has the following configuration.
In order to wind up the metal film to be wound on the winding roll, the first relatively thin plastic film is used as a winding lead portion, and the first relatively thin plastic film The front end portion of the second relatively thick plastic film is connected to the rear end portion of the plastic film, and is wound around the rear end portion of the second relatively thick plastic film in a roll shape. The front ends of the metal film to be rolled up are joined together and connected, and the joint connection part of these two types of plastic films is used as the unwinding part of the metal film to be taken up. It is a winding method of the metal film which starts winding.
[0016]
In the method for winding a metallic film of the present invention, the thickness of the first relatively thin plastic film is 20 μm, while the thickness of the film-like metal foil original is 10 μm or 15 μm . The thickness of the two relatively thick plastic films can be 50 μm or 75 μm.
[0017]
Further, the width of the joint portion of the rear end portion of the first relatively thin plastic film and the front end portion of the second relatively thick plastic film is 30 cm or more. The object of the present invention can be sufficiently achieved.
[0018]
In the method for winding a metal film of the present invention, the metal film is a film-like metal foil original fabric used for manufacturing an electrode of a battery, for example.
[0019]
According to the present invention, the first relatively thin plastic film base such as polyester serves as a lead for winding, and the second relatively thick polyester film base provides a copper foil or the like. Since tension is uniformly applied to the metal film to be wound in the width direction, even if wrinkles or stretches occur in the first relatively thin plastic film base such as polyester, the second relatively The thick plastic film base absorbs wrinkles and stretches and applies a uniform tension in the width direction of the copper foil to prevent tearing and cutting of the metal film to be wound up, such as copper foil. It acts on.
[0020]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below.
Example 1
An embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 (plan view of the joint portion of the film) and FIG. 3 (side view of the joint portion of the film). That is, in order to prevent the film-shaped metal raw material of the copper foil 21 from being torn or cut, a lead for winding the first relatively thin polyester film base 121 having a width of 640 mm and a thickness of 20 μm. Next, a second relatively thick polyester film base 131 having a width of 640 mm was connected, and then a film-shaped metal foil raw material of copper foil 21 having a width of 640 mm and a thickness of 15 μm or 10 μm was connected. .
[0021]
As shown in FIG. 1, according to the present embodiment, the supply method of the film-like metal foil original fabric in the electrode manufacturing process of the secondary battery such as a lithium battery, that is, the film-like metal original fabric of the copper foil 21 serving as the negative electrode. In this method, the film-shaped metal foil raw material of the copper foil 21 is passed through the coater 110 to which the negative electrode active material is applied, and includes an unwinding roll 112, a winding roll (not shown), and a plurality of guide rolls 113 for guiding traveling. In order to pass the copper foil 21 through the traveling system 111 consisting of 113, 113,..., First, a relatively thin polyester film base 121 is passed through the traveling system as a winding lead to form a film-like metal foil original. Instead of the conventional method of connecting the polyester film base 121 and the copper foil 21 in the anti-unwinding roll 112, the thin polyester film base 121 and the copper foil 21 are connected. It is obtained by inserting a second relatively thick thick polyester film base 131 between.
[0022]
The rear end portion of the first relatively thin polyester film base 121 and the front end portion of the next second relatively thick polyester film base 131 are in butt connection. The front and back surfaces are bonded in the width direction of the film with polyester adhesive tape 127, and then the surface of the butt portion extends in the longitudinal direction of the copper foil 21 at several locations (three in the figure) with polyester adhesive tape 128, 128,. Glued.
[0023]
The length of the second relatively thick polyester film base 131 was set to 300 mm or more, and then the film-shaped metal foil original fabric of the copper foil 21 was overlapped and connected.
[0024]
After the front end portion of the film-like metal foil raw material of the copper foil 21 is overlaid on the rear end portion of the second relatively thick polyester film base 131, the front and back surfaces of the overlap portion are first coated with a polyester adhesive tape. 135 was adhered in the width direction of the film, and then the surface of the overlapped portion was adhered at several places (three places in the figure) with polyester adhesive tapes 136, 136,... Extending in the longitudinal direction of the copper foil 21.
[0025]
Table 1 shows the test results of Examples in which the thickness of the second relatively thick polyester film base 131 and the thickness of the film-like metal foil of the copper foil 21 were changed.
[0026]
[Table 1]
[0027]
As can be seen from Table 1, the first relatively thin polyester film base 121 is used as a lead for winding, and then the second relatively thick polyester film base 131 is connected. Then, in the embodiment in which the film-like metal raw material of the copper foil 21 having a thickness of 15 μm or 10 μm is connected, if the thickness of the second relatively thick polyester film base 131 is 75 μm, The thickness of the second relatively thick polyester film base 131 is not wrinkled regardless of whether the thickness of the film-like metal film of the copper foil 21 is 15 μm or 10 μm. When the thickness is 50 μm, it is recognized that wrinkles are generated in the copper foil 21 when the thickness of the film-shaped metal raw material of the copper foil 21 is 10 μm, and the second thick polyester film When the thickness of the base 131 was 30 μm, wrinkles were always observed when the thickness of the film-like metal film of the copper foil 21 was 15 μm or 10 μm. Therefore, the second thick polyester film base 131 The thickness was determined to be optimal at 75 μm.
[0028]
According to the present embodiment, the negative electrode active material is applied to the film-shaped metal foil raw material supply method in the electrode manufacturing process of the secondary battery such as a lithium battery, that is, the film-shaped metal raw material of the copper foil 21 to be the negative electrode. It is a method of passing the film-shaped metal foil raw material of the copper foil 21 into the coater 110, and includes a winding roll 112, a winding roll (not shown), and a plurality of guide rolls 113, 113,. In order to pass the copper foil 21 through the traveling system 111, first, a relatively thin polyester film base 121 is passed through the traveling system to form a winding lead, and a film-shaped metal foil raw roll 112 Since the second relatively thick polyester film base 131 is inserted between the thin polyester film base 121 and the copper foil 21 in FIG. When the film-like metal foil raw material of the copper foil 21 is directly connected to the relatively thin polyester film base 121, the copper foil 21 is wrinkled or stretched, so that the film shape of the copper foil 21 is obtained. Although there were problems such as tearing or cutting of the metal foil original fabric, the second relatively thick polyester film base 131 made uniform the film-like metal foil original fabric of the copper foil 21 in the film width direction. Therefore, even if the first relatively thin polyester film base 121 is wrinkled or stretched, the second relatively thick polyester film base 131 is wrinkled or fragmented. Since the elongation is absorbed and tension is uniformly applied in the width direction of the copper foil 21, the film-shaped metal foil original fabric of the copper foil 21 is prevented from being torn or cut, and the film-shaped metal foil original fabric of the copper foil 21 is prevented. Tear The excellent effect efficiency preventing deterioration in the secondary battery electrode produced by cutting can be exhibited Ri.

Before the implementation of the present invention, the film-shaped metal foil raw fabric loss length was 50 m / time, and the implementation of the present invention resulted in 0 m / time. The recovery time of 60 minutes / time was 0 minutes / time by the practice of the present invention.
